All wobblyness is gone now.
Yes bbsrailfan, i too agree that Contigo\'s are to blame and almost 99% of the CBR 250R owner too will agree on that.

But, i have faced this wobble issue from my first service which is around 800Kms. And i will cross 14K mark in couple of office runs , and that is the reason i am trying to get to bottom of this issue. I definetly wanted to change the tyres to something other than Contigo but i cannot afford to change it right now(as i have a four wheeler which is also due for a tyre change).

[QUOTE=theironhorse99;1125885]i agree on this 100000 %.. tyres... change em and wobble gone... voila... eureka eureka.. i found it.QUOTE]

And Yes theironhorse99, a readymade solution is available but its out of reach for me now.

OT: I thought i am having issues with posting, but looks like there are many multiple posts available recently.. Any technical issue with xbhp forum???

its not only conti\'s any tyres done around 14-15k on cbr starts hydroplaning and cupping. while this can be rectified just by changing rear tyre however the wobble will be only gone if front is changed too. i wonder how people use tyre sets on 250 for 20k km and above.

for you as the bike is new. check the air pressure and also loose coneset.. both seems to be cause on new motorcycles for wobble.
also check if tyre is fitted correct way...

            Hello Brothers,

How long does the engine oil last which honda provides for CBR250r i.e 10W30 HONDA Throttle.

I know, we need to change the oil when the rider feels the harshness in the engine.

but can someone let me know, how long will the oil (10W30 HONDA Throttle) last in climate like mumbai.

PS: I changed the oil at 5200 kms in second service and now it is 8000 kms old, sometimes i feel the harshness but when ridden for 10-15 kms the harshness is gone and the engine feels butter smooth (touchwood).

Should I go for oil change ?

            Cheers,
            Sanjay

Hi, My experience says.. Honda Throttle lasts for 3500kms, that is until I felt the difference in engine characteristics.

Currently I am using Motul 7100

Sanjay, the stock oil is good only for 2500-3500 kms in a hot / humid climate. In colder climates like Bangalore, it can be pushed to 4000+ kms, but thats about it. Shell Ultra lasts 7000kms approx.

bbsrailfan will not go for shell or other oils as i do not want to void the warranty. no doubt those are good engine oil when compared to stock .

I guess, it is time to change the oil.

                    cheers all.

                        Hi,

if you take time to read the older posts on this thread, a lot of owners have mentioned a better engine response and smoothness with Shell FS oil. Stock Honda oil if i remember correctly now costs around 700 and the Shell oil costs around 820-830 per ltr. Shell will offer better protection and engine refinement as it has a higher ZDDP and detergent content. It is a tried and tested oil by the likes of senior rider @aargee , @adisakke, @gopakumarspillai and many others, @aargee being the one who i believe has now crossed the 80k mark on his CBR 250R and has toured almost every nook and corner of India with his steed.

Changing engine oil as long as the viscosity is maintained as per the manufacturer doesn\\\'t void the warranty if the SVC guys are trying to feed you the crap that only engine oil from SVC has to be used then please do ask them to:

                        a) Show where it has been mentioned in the manual supplied with the bike, SVC Honda workshop manual or any receipt/documents you have received with the purchase of the bike.
                        b) Give it to you in writing with official SVC seal/stamp and do tell them that you are going to send this to your lawyer and then consumer court to confirm if what they say is true!! Then see the fun begin and how the concerned person starts changing his statement rightaway!

Donot listen to the crap talks given by SVC as most of them are (untrained) mechanics who have got into the environment because of no other alternative and sometimes they come with the weirdest theories to any problems or troubleshooting you may have to do with your bike. As per your query, the Shell FS oil usually lasts upto 5500 kms however preferably one may replace the oil under that no. of kms coverage. The engine oil now in comparison to working in a bike with liquid cooling has to go through lesser thermal stress as compared to an air cooled engine as the LC system takes most of the load as being the heat exchanger to manage engine temps. In a CBR, the engine temps are limited to 95\\\'C max whereas in air cooled engines the operating temps at stop and go traffic may rise as much as 120 -140\\\'C, with some of the parts like camshaft working at even higher temps.

A video link to understand about the basics of oil and how does it function:

                        Hope this helps,

                        Cheers

I am using the stock oil from Honda and i felt oil change is not required atleast until 5K. I am using my bike mostly to commute to office daily and apart from occational burst the rpm will not cross 5.5K, so i guess the oil change is also depends on how the bike is used(or thrashed ).

Hold it guys!!!! While I said I did it, I do not mean to imply that I was right, or you should follow it. I somehow managed to stretch it to 22k Kms, and I only know how I had to handle the bike...it used to behave like a drunkard and used to pussyfoot a lot. I stuck to it just because I rode very less, and my daily ride was only 5 kms in bumper-to-bumper traffic so handling never mattered. For any kind of serious riding, this is not at all recommended.

If you want to stick to stock oils, you\'d be better off changing the oil around the 4000-4500kms mark. However, changing the oils doesn;t void your warranty. Infact, I change oils at the ASC itself. I handover the oil to the technician working on my bike and he never makes a fuss about the brand of oil.

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

I got that bbsrailfan, it's just that I would like to extract max out of the existing stock tyres before I get a new set. I am not a hard rider so handling in little old tyre is not a problem, but ofcourse safety being first I will not wait until the tyre goes bald .
