I found a bit of oiliness on engine area [just under the right side fairing]. And is it possible to leak oil due to over engine oil poured by the service guy ?

It will be the oil spilled over while removing the oil filter & not cleaned.

I'm much concern about oil dropping. Though it is very less, a few drops but its noticeable.

What could be the reason ?
Spilt oil could be the reason, however i find that dung and other debris stuck on a new radiator often has that burning smell... Check the area where the radiator has a lot of muck or cow dung is what burns in my opinion. If burning smell still persists after cleaning out the front of the radiator then go on to address oil spill issues.

the pedal becomes like rubbery with no return feedback. the read pedal gives those coarse vibes and the sound...

I would count myself as one of those offenders! Though it's not that I am ignorant of my brake pad wear, but I am waiting to club it with my 3rd service this weekend. However, over the last 2 days, I am hearing a strange krrrrrr sound whenever I hit my front brakes. The frequency of the sound is directly related to speed and the sound starts only when I engage the brakes. It goes from a constant krrrrrrrrrrrrr-katkatkat-kat-kat-kat-kat as I brake progressively. Are those worn pads eating into my discs? I am being paranoid, but I just need to wait till Saturday to get the lady renewed. Hope my discs won't be grated by then!

Yes, certainly looks like that. The disc would be scratched and that's not at all good. Better drive slow and use rear brake till you replace the front pads.

              Ride safe and have fun.

I have not used my bike for a week, yesterday I had been to Panvel & came back, two things I noticed were that the front was feeling very stiff checked Tyre pressure and secondly the bike used to start at 2K RPM & then settle down to 1.5K but now it starts at 1.5K goes up to 2.2K & then settles at 1.5K what can be reason for both?
                Thank you

                  Hello experts,

Due to lack of my access to CBR , I gave my bike to one of my cousin so that bike stay in running condition, but now I find the brake condition look like these.... It is 2011 CBR STD model and front brake is still in stock one but the rear changed once.

I found the rear one need immediate change....what about the front one ? Please advise

Can't find RG's disc pad pic of the front.

Front and rear picture attached below.

Change the pads ASAP,it`s non abs & if you don`t want to spend that much, you can install Pulsar 220fi`s rear pads also. It`s just 200/- & also if the mechanic is knowledgeble then ask him to perform caliper greasing also.

thats just normal. as far as it settles back to 1.5k within 10-15 seconds.. you are good to go. its auto choke feature and also depends on weather ( outside air temperature ) precisely.
if front is become stiff 3 things to check

                      1. tyre pressure.
                      2. fork alignment.
                      3. coneset setting.

all checked once shoudl solve your problem.

thats the pad ( metal ) grinding the poor disk. get them changed asap else they will make permanent lines over the rotor which will reduce the contact patch once pad is replaced and will never give the same braking power.

change them ASAP..... those are done.... also as mentioned p220 rear will work for non-abs. braking effeciency is more or less same. you will save 600 bucks.
if ride is done more than 15k else 1y + change brake fluid and get the callibration done again. SVC will charge 400-500 for this. look for a expert local mech for calibration
who will do it for 100 bucks else resort to you tube. its lil time consuming but easy DIY..

One more query, to change the rear disc pad, Is it mandatory to remove rear wheel ?

Is it possible to give an approx. estimate of both Disc pad replacement cost if the work done @ Honda SVC ?

                          Hi Gentlemen,
Hope you had a nice new year.
I have a question on knee guard. Is there any knee guard which can be worn inside the pant but long enough to cover lower shin?. I am using Axo (junior knee pad)
but it is not long enough to cover lower shin. I don't want to wear the bigger Axo outside the pant.
                          Thanks.

On a detailed look at the bike, noted that CBR 250R in UAE comes with DRL.
No switches to turn the light on or off. And the stickers of the white 2013 model is also different and non abs model comes with Nissin brake calipers and mass cylinder units. Some pics.

And some pics to please the eye.

I don't think there is a difference in the rear brake pad set between the FI and carb P 220s. Do check, though.

I earlier changed the rear brake pad @ SVC but it not last much longer compare to stock one which come factory fitted.

Not at all. The pads are loosened by removing the retaining clip, eased out and the new ones put back in. A good mech will also check pot and caliper movement plus presence of bubbles in the line. All of this with the bike on a paddock stand and the wheel in place.

Is it possible to give an approx. estimate of both Disc pad replacement cost if the work done @ Honda SVC ?
Each set is about Rs 800 so 1600 for the sets plus some 300 for labour takes it to about Rs 1900, done with original Honda parts at the Honda ASC.
