Did ya just say that you saw 5 bars on the temp ????

If so but am scared that you probably would have done the damage if there is no oil. I have nevet seen more than 3 bars in 15000 km even in most horrible of traffic jams.. Though I did burn my gaff hair.. but never a 4th bar...

If this is the case visit asc asap and if there is no oil. Call honda people and tell them to come home and dont ride the bike unless sufficient oil is there

What it means is P220 rear pads can be used for CBR250r std ie non abs version & you cannot use them on abs version.

No other pads are interchangeble with any of these pads.

Anyone else facing incorrect fitment of grab rails? My Grab rail on the left pops way too far out from the seat and it leaves a large gap for rain water to seep into the documents compartment :/ The grab rail sits fine on the frame but appears to be a bit too large! Also switched to 10W30 FS(honda) and noticed quite a bit of difference in the engine smoothness over the mineral they kept feeding her with for the last 10k kms! Shims were found to be in the perfect tolerance level so did not need any change. Also bought a Combined-Abs sticker for the fender(6 bucks) since they had swapped my original fender with a STD one during delivery and i only noticed it after a year. Now i realized i need to get another one for the other side.. :/

            Hello,
I mentioned the problems I faced in the last post correct? Well they have been rectified.
            Point wise.
            1) Engine oil
It was critically low, the mechanic attributed it to the usage during the run in. The oil was in the sump and so low that it could not be seen at the inspection window, opened the engine to be sure and he was right. The piston too looked healthy no signs of glazing as of yet.
            2) Wobbling of handle bars.
Checked fork oil, cone set, tire rims, wheel axle, all clear, he [mechanic Shashi Kumar of Silicon Honda south circle Basavanagudi, Bangalore] Said that there was some nut loose, I could get to inspect it, but will go for a speed trail tomorrow.
            3) Miscellaneous
Fairings were tightened less gaps now, although the left side rear is still open, well I suppose I would get used to it.
The bike is running smoother than before, almost sweet as a nut, still I will go for a trial and report back soon.
            Now the recent issue, BILLS!
So the person in charge [cbr manager] told me that I have to pay for consumables but the labor charges would be free. So here is the list.
Now if you can make out anything because of my cheap phone,

the charged me extra for this item
            CONSUMABALE CBR 100 +VAT 14.50% 114.50
No it is not a typo, so I was confused on this matter and asked about them immediately, they told me that such was the cost of miscellaneous items used in service [rags, grease perhaps electricity etc basically for items they cannot keep track of.]
            Further chain lubrication 150
So what do you think? Are this two costs okay? Because I know that as per the back sheet of the service coupon, lubrication is to be free, or are such put under consumables?

and regarding chain lube, ask them if they do it for free or else its waste paying them 150 Rupees for that. I use TRIBOCOR CHAIN LUBE TC 40, u can get a 500ml bottle for 250 Rupees , its the best thing we can lube our chain for every 300kms or when ever u feel it dry instead of paying them 150 every time and last time when i used it on my cbr it lasted for some 400kms

But at least they cleaned and lubed my chain with motul cleaner and road lube.

Did you say No Labor charge?? They charged you Rs300 as labor charge for chain lubrication and fitting....

If it was chain cleaning, then ok, else if it is just spaying lubricant on the chain... it a lot. You can get a chain lubricating spray from TVS service center for Rs300. Still using it over a year now.

                        Hi Manan,
Good that you confirmed that there were no damages because of low oil.
                        Hope your wobbling went away!,
                        Regarding Bill -
At Saphire too, I was charged for chain lubrication, also consumable charge was for about Rs49 (this is fairly ok as they used a rubber bush for heat shield) . I didn't ask much about bill items as I had other major issues with the bill - it was billed for someone else for another CBR. Took me 30 minutes to correct it to my name/CBR. Noticed last week that even after correction, they didn't correct the invoice date (How found? - service invoice date was in Dec, where as I got CBR serviced in Mar - so I started getting reminder for second service as it was due. I was surprised when caller told me that service has to be done within a week etc. I told him to check and call me back, but he confirmed it. I couldn't convince him that second service is before 6 months or 6K - as per him service is due now!. Later I gave up on him. Checked all the docs to see, how this could happen and then during this investigation figured that service invoice date was the root cause. I typical game played by computers on me because of copy-paste and extensive usage of tab keys by billing person). Bottom line- I have given up on these guys now, there is no light.
Btw, engine oil - it looks like your CBR drank too much of oil for the first replacement - a typical oil change (along with oil filter) takes about 1.5L of oil. Assuming they used full 2L of oil, bill for oil is OK.
Regarding fitting charges, hope they are charging this for wind screen fitting.

Back from a round trip to Yelagiri - Chennai. (464 km)

Bike was good on the highway, while going to Yelagiri got an awesome company from a sportily driven Innova(was doing 140 -150 Kmph ) and a sedately driven Audi A6(150 - 160 Kmph) , Corolla D4D(130 - 140 Kmph) while coming back.

There was some political meeting going on today at Yelagiri, so while coming back from Yelagiri got stuck in the traffic, it took nearly 1:30 hr to cover 14Km. Not exactly what I had in my mind.

Mileage - 28.36 Km/L not the whole distance but only the initial 295 Kms. While going to Yelagiri I could only hit 149 Kmph, some times it was even difficult to cross 140 Kmph. Must be because of the head wind, while coming back I was able to hit 150 Kmph consistently.

Top speed 149 Kmph while going, 160 Kmph on the return trip.

It is funny to ride around with go pro on your helmet, every other person points and say " Look camera!".

                            Hello,

Yes the labor was for the replacement for the windshield, although I am very suspicious of the consumables, but still there one year gap for the next service, I will try saffire honda,[are they ok?, although khan and zeeshan have a very good reputation] can you show me your bill? the first service if it is still there [for planning for the moolah] .

Yes, the oil was quite low, I told the mechanic to fill it to the max possible level, I was scared the first time there was no oil, so I did not want to take chances.

Regarding the wobbles, the mechanic[Kumar] attributed to a loose nut in the front assembly, I could not see it so I am not sure which nut he was talking about, but to Kumar there was no problem in the rims, forks, wheel axle and the cone set, he said that it was one of the best conditioned cbr he saw. But today i went to the link road for high speed testing, there was a slight wobble at 35-60 over that till 135 [which I touched] there was no wobble, if there was I did not feel it.

                            Manan.

If it was chain cleaning, then ok, else if it is just spaying lubricant on the chain... it a lot. You can get a chain lubricating spray from TVS service center for Rs300. Still using it over a year now.
For the chain lube I am attributing to the spraying of motul and cleaning using motul.
But thanks for mentioning the the tvs lube, can you recommend a cleaner?
The other cost was for fitting a new windshield

Exactly, thats my point. P220 rear brakepads can be used in CBR std's rear.
