Re: problems with my cbr250r
it will obviously take some time for them to make changes to the site. But what matters is that the pricing is made available for the colours and Repsol is included at a premium of 7-8k but only made for ABS versions which makes it about 2.3 lakhs OTR in my cityGot a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: problems with my cbr250r
Try this at 70kmph in 4th gear.Originally posted by kpvision View PostThanks. I did this already. This test is not conclusive yet as I am unable to compare it with another. With hands off the handle bar, most of the time I am able to ride (40kmph+) on straight or down a flyover ramp without any drift when there is enough torque. But, sometimes I am seeing that there is a tendency for the bike to move to right - but not like drifting - it is more severe like I am loosing balance and I can't ride with hands off (I am thinking that this might be because of the engine braking causing me to reach the point of my balancing ability , road imperfection or my sitting, weight distribution etc - So, I am in no mans land on this).

[QUOTE=Sandeep Patnala;957972]Thanks Buddy . Can u plz give the values of valve clearance ??
Intake valve clearance: 0.16 +/- 0.03 mm

checked it now.. this dosent sound good. almost all cbr's that were in good condition rode in straight line right from 100 - 30.. below that is when it starts swinging on either sides in a natural way.. if your ride is going on one side..
get these checked..
tyre alignment.. ideally chain setting..
equal pressure in forks...
coneset (incase you havent had a fall ) ..
air pressure..
wear n tear on tyre ( only extreme cases ).
verify these points.. once you isolate each one of these.. this issue should go away...
but most of the times.. either its misaligned forks else uneven pressure or an overtightened coneset...
put the bike on side stand and pull it to one side holding the fairing.. then check the freeplay of handle.
if needed loosen the cose set a bit.."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

Re: problems with my cbr250r
Thanks for doing the test!. I was about to request you guys. Ok, I am ruling out air pressure and tire wear. Does wheel balancing has anything to do with this -There are couple of balancing weights in the front wheel.Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Postchecked it now.. this dosent sound good. almost all cbr's that were in good condition rode in straight line right from 100 - 30.. below that is when it starts swinging on either sides in a natural way.. if your ride is going on one side..

Didn't understand this part - "put the bike on side stand and pull it to one side holding the fairing.. then check the freeplay of handle." Could you please explain a bit?. Thanks.~shifting at 6K RPM

wheel balancing wont really make the ride go one side. it might make your ride not feel planted or wobble at high speeds..
regarding the statement.. lemme explain the old - gold way...
remember how we used to tilt our scooters before we could start them.. the old age priya/bajaj..
similar way.. while the bike is on side stand.. tilt it so the front tyre is in air.. balance it somehow and then check the freeplay of the handle.. from one to another end..
see if you find it heavy.. IF YES then its an overtightened Coneset...
IF NO.. proceed to another test.. sit on the bike. grab the front brake lever and try to move it front and back.. that will eventually make the suspension go up and down
with an engaged front brake.see if you feel any where getting a "Tak" or if the handle feels supple without any discrepancy..
IF YES then its a loose coneset. get it FIXED.."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

Re: problems with my cbr250r
It's strange regarding the mileage, I too get around 35 to 44 kmpl around 80 on my cbr, although the cost saved on fuel is lost on lubing, putting air in the tires and resisting the temptation to rip the engine.
Checked the Repsol prices in Bangalore with that price, I could have afforded a gtr 250r
Manan.

Re: problems with my cbr250r
Update about the left-pulling issue.
On 20th, I went to Rajkot from Junagadh for work. The bike was pulling a bit to the left.
Yesterday, I was cleaning the bike, inspecting things before the ride back when I noticed that the ASC, during the fork oil seal replacement job, had placed a plastic clasp around the clutch cable and left switchgear cable duo. Now, due to my raised clip-on mod, the slack had been reduced and this clasp tightened the clutch cable till there was virtually no free play.
I removed the clasp and test-rode the bike and voila! No pulling, she tracked straight and true. So, the issue is deemed solved.
Two consecutive runs of about 90 kms on the highway in the past two days and I have arrived at a number. "65690" These indicate 6th gear, 5600RPM, 90 kmph. I observed this equilibrium for minutes on end both ways. And this despite my weight and the 30 odd kgs of baggage. The bike was smooth, no strain and I could have carried on for hours at this setting. My observation is important for my riding style - 80% of 7000 RPM (max torque) is 5600 RPM. If at this RPM, I can get as high a speed as 90, I don't need any mods on the rear/front sprocket or the internals. The torque at this setting is excellent - a small twist to 6000 takes her to 100 for that quick overtaking manoeuvre and then it is back to 65690! A bit too strenuous? No probs. 65080 is also good.
Another imp observation over the past two years. This bike takes a long, long time to be broken in really completely. My model is from the very first batch of May 2011. Done about 7000 kms till now (I know, peanuts, but then, my office is very close by and I walk to work at times, not too many opportunities to ride etc). In May 2011, the vibrations at 90 were almost unbearable. Th engine sounded harsh and bad-tempered. It was a really horrible bike then.
But now, she seemed to have changed colours for the good. She lacks just 4 vital ingredients of an accomplished long-distance tourer. 1st is higher bars, 2nd is a centre stand, 3rd is an under-body exhaust to allow solid panniers and 4th is good tyres. I have remedied 1st as far as possible. 4th can be resolved by changing tyres any time. 2nd I can live with. The 3rd is the pesky one so I use a large bag on the pillion but then, no pillion rider. Haven't seen any "underseat" exhaust mod yet.
The front brake has become really spongy and weak. Will bleed it this weekend and see the results. Else will change the pads; I rely a lot on the front brake.

Re: problems with my cbr250r
Hello Guys this is my continuation post to my previous post reg my bend radiator fins. I have complained to ASC service manager reg what they have done during wash and he promised me that he ll remove the bends of the fins and return me as it was before and in the evening i went to ASC to collect my bike after some 8 hours and then i saw radiator in this condition. But i dont know how he has removed the bends of the fins ( he told me he himself removed the fins by using needle ) , and if u observe clearly the bend fins radiator and the present one you will notice a lot of differences. WHAT HE MIGHT HAVE DONE ?? Any clues guys ??
