In the post you quoted, I'd mentioned 36 kmpl and a little more, right? That little more was 45 kmpl.Originally posted by krish2778 View PostI got 38 kmpl for the first full tank ...:-D

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Sid85, I am of the opinion that the 200NS has the same specs. chain (number of links may however differ). My chain should go for replacement shortly, so do let us know of what alternate you have used and the costing. How many KMS has your original chain lasted? How often have you lubricated & what type of lubrication?
My chain has done almost 18K, now is on the last point of extension, have lubricated it with gear oil all along almost every 500/600kms interval. Now that the chain is on the final leg am using used engine oil for lubrication to understand the difference if any. Others who have replaced the chain please let us know how long it lasted with method of lubrication/cleaning.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
That is abso correct. I have a "5080" and "5690" setting. 80 kph @ 5000 RPM and 90 kph @ 5600 RPM. At the lower RPM, I get about 38 kpl while at the higher, about 35ish kpl. So, your figure of 42-43 kpl @ 4500 RPM @ 72 kpl is perfectly achievable. The CBR has a good engine for extracting a reasonable FE as long as one stays at sane speeds. Personally, I have found that the strain at 80 kph (just 10 kph below 90) is significantly lesser than at 90. I can ride continuously for 3 hours at 80 w/o a break while at 90 and beyond, feel like halting within about 1.5 hours. And come to think of it, over a distance of say 90 kms, the difference is just 10 minutes. But the comfort and safety increase is manifold for me. I start fresh, ride fresh and arrive fresh... and the bike too is thankful to me for not thrashing her at allOriginally posted by bbsrailfan View PostBro, thats exactly what I was riding at - 4500RPM translates to 72kph in 6th gear! Guess it's impossible to extract more FE out of the bike without lugging the engine and ruining the ride.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
You're bound to have a very long lasting, well behaved and reliable engine with that. I think many CBR owners, me too included have their kind of setting, a relationship if I may with their RPM meters. Its sort of like the pulse monitor of the machine... the 5k - 80kms mark is especially famous i reckon... moving from a cruise bike I was thrilled I could do 80 when running it in... And the fact that it was single cyl capable of generating a little more torque low end gave that mid range to play with... from then on i've been juggling between the wide spread of power this thing delivers across the range. Frankly I find the motor responsive to riding styles - There have been occasions while tripping where the fuel gauge comes down to reserve with quite a bit of distance left for the next fuel station - Those times I literally get back to the eco mode of 5k rpm and the bike takes me a fair distance more.Originally posted by icemang View PostThat is abso correct. Re: Honda CBR 250R
For me, the "strain/roughness" seemed to be because of vibrations happening between 5.5k to 6K, now that everything is tightened and padded, the "vibe band" has compressed and shifted to upwards of 6.5K. Hope this will remain like this - till fairings become loose again. Yes, at "5080", it is a shipOriginally posted by icemang View PostThat is abso correct. In Fiero too, I was seeing a narrow "vibe band" at 60kmph in 4th gear, and was begging for a non existent 5th gear. Deja Vu again, but at different speed/rpm in CBR, which asks for a non existent 7th gear past 6.5K. So, my journey from non existent 5th to 7th!. No limits man!. Having said this, I am fine with stock sprocket

CBR cycle -
S0. Take her to higher K peaks - S1 then the therapeutic vibes will/may set in - S2 visit to ASC to tighten fairings - S3 vibes shifted. Happy - now back to S0?. Hope the cycle ended for me.~shifting at 6K RPM

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Guys need some help urgently, Old punctures that have patched up earlier started leaking now. I have covered 19351Km as of today. The wear indicator on the tyre has almost worn down. Now its require air top up every day, which is very annoying.Originally posted by ecenandu View PostGuys, Need your help.
I wanted a replacement for my rear tyre. I think, i got only two options either Conti or MRF. I got a quote of 3700 Rs for Conti from LAL tyre, Chennai. For MRF zapperS, I only tried one shop, for which they told its out of stock.
Do you guys know which shop to go in Chennai? Are there any other options, in terms of tyre brand?Last edited by ecenandu; 09-11-2013, 05:39 PM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Yes Manan, I know, I was enquiring about where to buy one in Chennai. Any ways, I went to 5-6 shops all where saying there is no stock. Only Lal tyre is having stock that too Conti go. So I am going for Conti. Some strike is going on at MRF and because of that there is a lot of delay in delivery. Since Pirelli are not ISI certified, they stopped importing. Hmm, looks like we are not having much choice now. Period.Originally posted by Manan View PostIts time to replace the tire

Bridgestone battlax is anyday better than any stock or after market tyres like pirelli sport demon, irc rx01 etc.Originally posted by ecenandu View PostYes Manan, I know, I was enquiring about where to buy one in Chennai. But battlax would be expensive in comparison.
