Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hello, i want to change my bikes front and rear sprocket for much better acceleration, i understand it will decrease top speed and other odds, and am ok with it, i have read few discussions about sprocket change and all, people suggesting daytona kits, ktm's 43T rear sprocket and few are too technical which gave all the specs about tooth numbers and pitch sizes. . Which i didnt understood much, i dont want to spend a lot, and i want to know easy possible way of changing to a bigger sprocket. DIY hacks also please suggest, thank u

That phatty PUC fellow doesn't know the difference between CBR and CBZ. Why would I waste time educating him?Originally posted by mathewkakkassery View PostMake : Hero Honda ? You have a CBR , rt ?

Please use http://www.gearingcommander.com/ for sprocket calculation. You could select the bike and it will show the stock and custom settings you could modify as per need.Originally posted by adishark View PostHello, i want to change my bikes front and rear sprocket for much better acceleration, i understand it will decrease top speed and other odds, and am ok with it, i have read few discussions about sprocket change and all, people suggesting daytona kits, ktm's 43T rear sprocket and few are too technical which gave all the specs about tooth numbers and pitch sizes. . Stock CBR has 14/38 front/rear teeth sprockets. You could only go for 1~3 teeth difference from stock. 3 is even in extreme case only. I would say 1 teeth difference should be enough.
For better acceleration I would suggest 13/38 or 39 rear. More change will result in wheelie.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Need advice from Pros here..
As the bike is new am trying to maintain bike speed inside 70kmph..
Sometime i end up riding bike at 3~4th gear at 5~6k rpm..
But when i up shift and maintain the same speed, i get some jud jud noise..
But if i down shift and ride it at the same speed, bike make noise tat it wants me to change gear..
Is it ok to ride it constant at 40~50kmph at 3~4th gear with around 4~6k rpm range?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Bhai, don't worry about rpm and all. See your bike manual. They never said to stick to certain rpm. Just accelerate gradually. I did my run in 4 years back at 4-7k rpm, and checked top speed also before first service. I have no engine problems, and my mileage is one of the best on xbhp. Also my run in was fun.Originally posted by bondarun View PostNeed advice from Pros here..

To avoid lugging the engine :
For 6th gear don't go below 70 kmph. Nothing will happen if you go 120 in 6th gear also. Just make sure you don't apply full throttle or even half throttle. Quarter throttle will get you to 90-110 kmph.
Change gears only when the bike engine starts making noise, at 4-5k rpm.Last edited by leech; 03-16-2017, 12:03 PM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Guys currently my CBR's ODO is around 800 KMS.
Completed first service last week @ Didar Honda egmore
Before giving service the bike's Clutch lever was tight (not so tight) but engaging the gear was butter smooth
So I had this recorded as a complaint during service.
Post service - Clutch is now butter light but gears engaging is now rough and it's making thud thud sound while engaging
Do I need to go back to the stock clutch settings?
Thanks in advance

Try engaging the clutch full way and change the gear.. if its butter smooth..
Do the same by pulling the clutch half way..
My clutch is smooth and still i get the knocking noise when i shift gears..
My Mech told tat, i need to find sweet spot to engage clutch and shift gears..
I might adjust my clutch after 1st service..

I am not addressing about knocking here... it's the sound made when am shifting gears is what am trying to say
when clutch was tight gears were smooth whereas when clutch is smooth gears are tight and making thud sound while shifting from one to another...Apache RTR 180 (The Valentine) 2012 - 2016
