    Purchased last month.

Ask your dealer, if they are still not giving drop a mail to Honda directly that should solve the issue.

I have checked with the dealer about 3 years extended warranty now. The sales person tells that once it is taken cannot be changed. I told them I need 3 yrs EW only else I will mail to Honda regarding the same. Now they told they will check with the manager and let me know. Let us see..

          Hello folks!

So I finally collected my ride from Dhruvdesh Honda at Mekhri Circle yesterday morning. Did PDI, found no issues. However, I could not check engine oil level as they didn't have a paddock stand. The salesman kept assuring me that he has ensure that optimum oil level has been ensured in the bike. I don't have a paddock stand either, so I couldn't check it myself at home either. Engine is smooth as butter for now and coolant seems to be in place. ATTENTION: I noticed that the temp bar constantly remains at 3 bars when in running. Is this normal for Bangalore summers? I have not got any "teflon" coating or lacquering done at dealership level. On Sunday, I will be getting a ceramic coating on the entire bike from ReflectON's Mahadevpura branch. I haven't received the number plates yet and I don't know the number of my bike either. Got a temp regn. sticker on just in case. All electrical stuff seems perfect. I love that there's a dual horn on the bike now. The TR vehicle had the same horn as my mother's Activa. :P Also, I got the 5 years(2+3) extended warranty with my bike.

Clicked a couple just before leaving the dealership!

Forgive me for the varied sizes. Everything was clicked on the phone and I had to edit them on the phone since I didn't have the patience to put them on computer.

More pictures, better pictures, DSLR pictures all promised. Right now I'm too busy enjoying this beauty to be bothered with clicking pics. Yesterday after taking delivery, I rode for about 100km, in and around the city, a bit on the highway, to the Bangalore Intl. Airport, some Jain temple in Devanhalli(mind blowing marble designs here, btw). Currently the ODO rests around 130km - the bike had 2km when I checked last Saturday. The dealership guys told me they added 12km while doing PDI, checking fluids, brakes and everything. So I started with 14km on the ODO from dealership.

So, first ride impressions? I have ridden the CBR before, but not for this long. I have never ridden a bike with this committed a position for this long. So I had a nice experience doing it. Impressions:

          1. I need to relearn my rev matching. The bike geared very different from the RTR, so I keep lugging the engine. But I immediately shift to the right gear.
          2. I keep forgetting I have that amazing and tall 6th gear on the bike!
          3. Bike is butter smooth, but the gear shifts not as smooth as I expected. The gears slot in very audibly; hoping this will improve after 1st service and oil change.
          4. She hates going below 3k RPM on every gear but 1st.
          5. The braking is phenomenal, even compared to the RTR(which I believe has some of the best brakes in the segment). I love C-ABS! It makes for amazingly lazy braking.
          6. I have never liked showroom guidelines on break-in - not because they suck, but because they make me look at the console all too often. I always want to feel the bike, know when to make shift based on the bike's feedback. That's how I'm breaking in my bike. I have not restricted myself to an RPM range or speed. I've done one high speed run(only touched 90kmph on this "high speed" run) and 2 quick accelerations. I vary the RPM between 2.5k to 7k RPM. Post 500km(which, for some reason, is the break-in period as specified in the owner's manual) I will use the full RPM range, but I will limit high speed runs till 1500km. Till 5000km, I will attempt to refrain from pushing the bike too much(read fast accelerations and such). Post that it's free rein.
          7. I need to get some anti-slip pads for the tank. I find that my thighs are too big and not strong enough to grip the tank under hard braking.
          8. After riding the bike for 100km, it feels like I was made for committed riding ergonomics. Even though I'm obese(fit-obese, because I go to the gym everyday - weight training FTW!), I love this riding posture, say compared to the ADV ergonomics of bikes like Verseys or cruisers like the Avenger. I can live with the ADV ergo, but I abhor cruisers and their ergos. I found myself enjoying the ergonomics of the BulletDoesn't give a lot of feeling of control over the bike for me. I might just get myself a pair of rear-sets and lower the handlebars in the near future. Of course, the CBR has relaxed ergonomics compared the the RC, but now I have a feeling I might just enjoy the RC even on long rides. (Another bike? Let's wait and watch).
          9. I thought I could do without the RVMs, but yesterday was spent fearing the bad drivers and riders of Bangalore. I will be setting up the RVMs today itself.
          10. Is it me or is that little side stand very unreliable?
          11. The Pillion seat, according to the Fiance, is very comfortable. She has only ridden pillion on my Twister, my old RTR, a friend's classic 350 and a friend's Unicorn 150. According to her, "My butt has a lot of space and the seat is softer compared to any other bike I have sat on". Even though getting on and off are a challenge for her short stature, she loves that she has a full view of the road over my helmet. Says she's a lot less bored now. She also says that she doesn't feel a lot of windblast(she doesn't perceive speed like you and me do. Poor thing doesn't know how much faster the CBR can go). The rider saddle was good to my posteriors. My Twister gives my butt a hard time in just 20km of riding. The CBR's saddle made the Twister's seem like a rock.
          12. The MRF rubbers aren't as bad as everyone is making them out to be. I like them. BUT, I am no expert on these matters. My tires have huge chicken strips, so I won't bother making a point till I get rid of those first!
          13. Low Beam on the headlight is okay, but the high beam seems to be pointing to the sky. Need to fix that. I've heard that the CBR's headlight's are the most disappointing part of the bike. Didn't get that impression, but I'll reserve my judgement for later.
          14. I wish the console was a darker shade of blue.
          15. I find the gear and brake levers to be too high for my taste. Can we get these adjusted? Of course, I may get adjusted to this before the first service.
          16. The CBR feels planted and corners okay. While the RTR just gladly tipped over at corners, the CBR needs me to work it. I can definitely feel the weight while maneuvering her. But straight line riding and braking will never give you the impression of a heavier bike.

Those, gentlemen and ladies(if any) are the impressions she made on me on our first day together. I learned so much from her already. I have a feeling this relationship is going to last a long, long time. Do you guys agree with these? Am I wrong about anything? Let me know!

Yes sir 3 bars are just OK and fine, you would witness 3 bars for most of the time even during open stretch and cool weathers. But if it exceeds more than that then its something to look after.

Manual suggests to check the oil level and coolant level regularly before riding so get the paddock asap.[emoji3]

BTW i would suggest you to buy a WD-40 can to lube the ignition switch, tank/gas lock and pillion seat lock because CBRs lockset costs around 10-11K for the older versions(donno about the price for newer version but i guess it might be similar)

            Happy riding, CHEERS[emoji3]

It's not because of Repsol you got Contigo.. It's the stock which is available for Honda during production will be fitted... I got MRF for my Repsol...

In chennai here ceramic coating costs around 5K (that's what I heard)

Madhav you don't need a paddock stand to check oil and coolant level. Just squat down, tilt the bike with one hand till it feels weightless, IE., doesn't fall on either side when you hold it lightly.

Frankly, you need to check the engine oil level every week, preferably with the engine at 3 bars of heat, and who has the time to bring the paddock out, check the engine oil level, put the paddock stand back?

Waste of energy for the lazy bum.

Actually, oil or coolant should not be checked with paddock stand. Bike has to be kept straight, that's all.
By using a paddock stand the bike is tilted forward and won't show the exact oil reading.

I'll do. How often though? I live in a gated community with basement parking. The bike will be protected under roof 90% of the time. Of course, I will be riding in every weather condition! So I will get the WD-40 for sure. I thought the lockset was covered under warranty... hmm.

AFAIK, it's pure luck. But I'll tell you my secret? Everyday I prayed for MRFs on the bike.

I'm planning to get the paddock stand either way because I am one of the guys who loves a clean and well lubed chain. If I had the money, I'd go get myself a scottoiler system, but paddock stands are cheaper. However, you're right about having to check the fluid levels that way. I'd never do that. I'll learn to check it the way you've suggested.

Sir just as a precaution measure I suggested you the same. I use wd-40 to lube key holes after every wash and as the nature of wd-40, it repels water so no corrosion inside the lock. I dont know if the lock-set is covered under warranty.

Even I have witnessed a bad incident which happened to my friends R15 where half part of the key broke and got stuck inside the petrol tank lock during unlocking it and this happened due to not lubing it periodically.

So sir whenever you feel like jam during locking/unlocking, just lube it.
