Guys, does anybody know of a DIY mod for Hazard lights? You know, when all 4 indicators can be flashed simultaneously?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I know bro...you answered it earlier. I was just double checking since the stock chain gets loose very soon in less than 500kms. So was thinking of changing to something better.Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Postbro i mentioned before the chain pitch of every bike is diffrent...
as far i can think off you can go with the p220 chain as the pitch is same however for the sprockets you would have to hunt..
stock has 14T front and guess 38/40 rear..
best bet in india .. get the same cbr chain and rear sprocket.. swap the front with either a 13T for accleration else 15T for touring...
Surely, would put it up here. My chain has done only 13500 kms. I used Motul cleaner and lube at every 500 - 800kms but thanx to the stupid asc's, they use some oil that too without cleaning the chain. Though I got n alternative on ebay for chain but not sure if can get the sprockets separately. The chain which I saw on ebay costed almost Rs. 4000 as per the current currency exchange.Originally posted by nsengg View PostSid85, I am of the opinion that the 200NS has the same specs. chain (number of links may however differ). My chain should go for replacement shortly, so do let us know of what alternate you have used and the costing. How many KMS has your original chain lasted? How often have you lubricated & what type of lubrication?
My chain has done almost 18K, now is on the last point of extension, have lubricated it with gear oil all along almost every 500/600kms interval. Now that the chain is on the final leg am using used engine oil for lubrication to understand the difference if any. Others who have replaced the chain please let us know how long it lasted with method of lubrication/cleaning.

@hypheni I got some inputs on this forum, but I am looking for something more specific to the CBR250, as I am not sure of the wiring in our bikes.Originally posted by hypheni View Post^ like emergency lights in car ? That was much before cars came with the factory-fitted hazard warning switch. Apparently, the workshop electro-mechanics guy had simply wired all indicator lamps in series, attached a contact breaker and tapped power from the battery. The contraption was activated by a simple two way switch on the dashboard. Very simple and effective.Originally posted by hypheni View Post^ like emergency lights in car ? I'm searching for the same
Here in Gujarat, I have seen multitudes of small commuter bikes with this mod which, along with the rear brake lamp, also gets activated when the brake is pressed
. Some clowns have attached it to their horns even so every time the bozo in the saddle honks, his bike lights up like a pinball machine. Very confusingly dangerous. Yet, the mod is possible with some additional wiring.
We could talk to our respective favourite ASC chap about a similar setup? One small hole drilled into one side of the instrument panel to house the switch and all wiring hidden away in the side panels. Warranties would be voided, of course, so it would be better to get this done after two years have elapsed from date of purchase.
I shall try to get some gen on this too. Do keep all interested parties updated on this rig.

The DIY on the CBR600 forum suggests exactly the same - with a small wire shorting the left/right indicators and connected to a switch which needs to be flipped to activate the "hazard" mode. Now all I need is somebody who can tell me which are the right wires to short...don't want to end up with blown fuses!
Not really that tough mate - do have a look at the DIY posted by the CBR600 guy...we just need to find the right wires and install a switch...thats it.Originally posted by hypheni View Post^^ Difficult for us to find a mechanic and do that in our bike. Will look forward for the answer from experts.Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
It is very much possible on the CBR250 too, I had installed a beeper ( three wired) for the turn indicators a long time ago. A switch across two of the supplying wires would do the trick. If I lay my hands on a suitable switch I will install it & take a couple of photos and post them.Originally posted by bbsrailfan View Post@hypheni I got some inputs on this forum, but I am looking for something more specific to the CBR250, as I am not sure of the wiring in our bikes.

OK.Have you come across those tyres in the market.Originally posted by DukeDey View PostBridgestone battlax is anyday better than any stock or after market tyres like pirelli sport demon, irc rx01 etc.
But battlax would be expensive in comparison.

Does it make sense to go for, say, battlax for the rear and stock Conti in the front. Shouldn't we go for similar rubber compound for the front and the rear. My friend was having an unused set of battlax tyres they imported for the race, sadly it was for the R15.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Exactly what I'm thinking... really want to know someone on xBhp who's using Bridgestone Battlax on the CBR250r. Also want to know about availability. I'd replace my stock Conti's with these the moment I find the Battlax.Originally posted by DukeDey View PostBridgestone battlax is anyday better than any stock or after market tyres like pirelli sport demon, irc rx01 etc.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
No, it won't make any sense if you opt for that setup. The battlax would continue to grip while the front would give up. Better would be to go for the new front and back tyre setup from the new lot of cbr250's. If you cannot find them in the market better wait, they would be almost 90% as good as the battlax and that too you can get both front and rear for a price less than that of only the rear battlax.Originally posted by ecenandu View PostOK.Have you come across those tyres in the market.

The rear is zapper s, front is zapper fy1 afaik.
Battlax are very difficult to source. I saw them with a dealer but that was in Delhi almost 2 years back.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
that can be very easily done by the normal bike so called ( modifiers ) ..Originally posted by bbsrailfan View PostGuys, does anybody know of a DIY mod for Hazard lights? You know, when all 4 indicators can be flashed simultaneously?
they will install one extra flasher and extra button somewhere near the lock unit and connect all 4 of em with it.. very easy mod...
just make sure that they do no make mods to the existing wiring..
ask them to run a new cable directly from battery and connect to all 4 indicators's wiring.. in between one analog flasher and a fuse .. and its done..
should not cost more than 500 including wiring , labour , flasher...
make sure its an analog flasher.. digital ones work will LED ex: duke 200/390 etc..
flasher will be like 100 bucks odd.. , 50 rs wiring , 10 rs fuse and some labour charge...
get the wiring properly insulated with wire ends to in rainy season it wudn't blow the fuse ..
the switch should be connected to the mains ( + ) and let the ground run directly to the flasher/indicators.."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."
