been away for long folks..
nice to see the thread active and alive...
probably the slip-on will void the warranty however i have also eye-witnessed a completed souped up 250 with akra FFE and FI controller installed with a blown engine getting
fixed under warranty free of cost... when i asked why so.. they said the customer shouted so they kept quiet.... guess now i have told you folks the trade secret.."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

You don't get these for free. You pay and choose. Hence, you can opt for whatever you want!Originally posted by DukeDey View PostHandle bar grips, seriously? Are you talking about grip covers? What if I don't want the saree guard and seat cover?
Only number plates would be good for me.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hi,
Finally, my Ceeber's (Amase) excessive vibrations are cured.
What I mean by vibration problem:
Please note that when I say "excessive vibration", I mean a slightly increased vibe (as if a new bike) compared to smooth buzz after break-in of 1000kms.
I started observing buzz/uncomfortable feeling in my forearms next morning - after previous days commute as if the bike has become bit loose. This vibration issue crept in the same day after the second service (mirror buzz at 100kmph itself). I called the mechanic and told him that this needs to be addressed. On the ride back home, I topped up petrol from a different place and was thinking that vibe may be because of fuel quality.
What I mean by cure:
When I say cured, it means that after the work done by the ASC, the vibes are now compressed significantly, so I am able to cruise between 4.5Krpm to 5Krpm in 6th, with butter smooth purring - the catty CBR signature.
In city, I no longer shift at 6Krpm and started shifting around 5.5Krpm+. In Blr, everything (rear of front vehicle) approaches pretty fast if I shift at 6Krpm and I have to again downshift and brake.
Solution: Went to ASC on Saturday and mechanic removed all fairing parts, bolts and refitted with rubber padding everywhere for fairing joints. This resulted in bit increased gap on left side fairing (which was already not fitting nicely) and between the gaps I can see these padding. But now things are tidy. That means vibes are compressed and not loose/pronounced, so back to smoothness.
Test rode it and tested with my test cases (mirror/footpeg/underseat for vibes under predetermined RPMs as observed before) and voila, no loose vibes! (that is why I say vibes shifted elsewhere). Amase is back to cruising mode. So, instincts were right. I am happy that mechanic agreed to that and finally a job - well done!.
All these were till yesterday. Today went for another ride in the afternoon, still things held good for onward journey. But on the way back felt some vibe at 6.5Krpm in 6th gear, but nothing conclusive, so I am at peace with it now. Hope things remain tight for a long time!. Cheers!.~shifting at 6K RPM

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hello fellow CBR owners,
I am writing in to ask about the insurance renewal process. My bike is about to complete two years soon, so will be renewing insurance in coming weeks. Has anyone tried buying insurance online?
It would be helpful if you share data for the same.
I own ABS version & after one year, the insurance particulars were:
IDV: INR 150136
Net Premium: INR 3614.37
Suggestions welcome.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I have purchased a Bajaj Allianz insurance online for my previous bike. Just fill out the form online and put all the details of your bike correctly like the engine number and chasis number. Then proceed to payment. If u get stuck and decide to cancel the form dont worry the insurance guy will call u next day and will help you step by step over the phone. After successful completion you will get a copy via email. And after 7 days you will also get a original hard copy at the address mentioned in the insurance. Hope this helps.Originally posted by harsimranjitsidhu661 View PostHello fellow CBR owners,

You know with that post you hit the spot bang on for a question I had for ages... I actually needed to know the latitude of allowance by the Service Center guys. Extremely keen and almost about to go for the 'Two Bros Juicebox' and a 'Slip-on Exhaust' for my ceeber. Thanks a ton for getting back The iHorse99...Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Postbeen away for long folks..

Detachable ? I don't think so, you would have to cut it to fit the slip on. Just above the area after the cat con.

Not exactly true, no matter how much you yell at them, if they have proof that the vehicle has undergone mods that violate their conditions it is void of warranty, now if the guy was some influential guy from that svc or not that might be a different story, and the company provides the warranty , not the dealers, so it is upto the dealers to decide if they should send the part for warranty claim or not.
Cheers

Cutting?Originally posted by krish2778 View PostYes , a slip on will void the warranty of the bike , as you have to cut the exiting exhaust to make way for the slip-on.

But as far I am aware, all you need is to unscrew the stock exhaust and screw on the aftermarket on, as in the clamps of the exhausts.
But any way thanks, I was thinking of such as a long term plan after my bike has turned old.
however if there is an after market exhaust fitted, the asc's can still service it correct?
Manan.

Oh..!! Thanks guys for correcting me, pardon my ignorance, I was under the assumption that it was a single unit and all.
And Manan, now that i realized this that it doesn't need cutting things are different, actually i told that warranty will be lost because i figured we have to cut the exhaust, but since it is just a bolt -on/off thingy, if you have to claim warranty on any things, all we need to do is to clamp on the stock muffler back and go in for warranty claim, no issues in that.
And yes, they will service the bike regardless of it's warranty status.
Cheers

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hey DukeDey, Thanks for the info on the nimbleness and wet conditions. FYI, our place is wet for almost 4-5 months a year. Will talk to the dealer about MRF again, somehow the sales guys have no clue about MRF being offered as OEM.Originally posted by DukeDey View PostYes, do go for mrf's. They offer better grip in both dry and wet conditions. I haven't ridden the mrf shod cbr's but I have ridden the R15 v2 which comes with the same tyre and they offer way more grip than the contigo, specially in wet conditions.
The mrf would last less but would inspire confidence unlike the contigo. Mrf's would also make the bike feel a little more nimble in comparison because, they have a rounder profile, would help you lean the bike easily in corners and when in a lean corrections would be easier.

Saw on internet that Michelin has made Pilot street radials for CBR. Hope its gets ISI mark and gets sold here
Thanks Kpvision. Noted your points. So it is going to be Red color with C-ABS. I will go ahead and book it with OEM MRF condition.
OT, any idea about Matrix honda dealer in Udupi? The traffic conditions/clean air that i was referring to is the location in the outskirts of Manipal
Cheers.

Sorry, I have no idea about the dealer in question. Apart from dealer, you may inquire about ASC, as you would deal with them often. CBR may show some curable tantrums and you might need a trusty ASC/mechanic. I see that you have geography advantage
