Brand new Honda machine and Fan problem. This is not expected from a manufacturer like Honda. Anyways get that rectified soon. BTW why you upgraded from R15 v2 to CBR ? For back sear only ? R15 is a pretty good bike too.

The third point you had mentioned however worries me a bit. I have ridden my ceeber at literally 8k+ rpm consistantly and it still doesn't heat up beyond 3 bars. Also fan runs at 3 bars so please get the contacts checked thoroughly as soon as possible lest it cause any everlasting damage to the engine.

      Otherwise, enjoy your ride mate...

      Cheers.
Thanks ,buddy.... And its the only thing that is lingering in my head apart from the fact that i am gonna love the way it's going to keep me happy for a long time !

Will get it checked this week. Actually , i still love the R15 for what it is and i can give it in writing that there is no other bike that in this segment that come come half as close to the R15. I miss the R15 bigtime but my riding preferences are shifting to relaxed touring and i couldn't ask for a better machine other than the ceeber.

      Cheers,
      Raj

No probs Raj, do let us know once the thing is sorted... Its advisable you get it fixed before riding it much, probably just a disconnection (they do that to safeguard it while on transport from the factories, the local mechs dont end up checking it thoroughly before sale, you know how it is in Inida... bas it has to shine, nothing else matters... But get it fixed pronto... lest you get stuck somewhere unnecessary.

        Cheers mate.

Guys, whats the cost of the Fully synthetic oil that they use in our cbr ?
I noticed that in the first service they filled oil from a black bottle , which form the ownershiip forums and from a few friends had told me was fully synthetic oil.
Now they have charged me 768 Rs for the oil.
They used 2 bottles , 1 bottle full and another bottle half. 1.5lts, but another friend of mine says that for 1.5ltrs the bill is 1.2k or something for the oil. So could you guys mention the cost of the engine oil for 1.5 ltrs ?

The item code written is Engine OIl(CBR- 1.500)

          Cheers

Yes the engine oil is for around 500/ltr so for 1.5 ltr it should be around what they have charged. May be your friend told you the charges for the complete service.

Here in Kolkata Engine oil costs Rs.500/- each ltr [1 bottle] and our bike needs 1.5 ltr. You will have to buy 2 bottles and remaining 1/2 bottle you will get from SVC for next time use.

Dont worry bro what they have charges was right. Black bottle( 1 liter ) is FS oil only and each bottle cost around 510 Rupees and some service center guys what they do is they put the bill of 2 bottles even if they are using only 1 and half bottle and they dont even return the remaining half to customers . So at your ASC they have charged u for 1.5 Liters.

What i do is, I pay the price of two bottles and take the ramining remaining 0.5 liter with me and i use it for topup if needed at times.

Honda branded chainset is not very expensive. Why don't you get it fitted at asc.

Its pouring in Bangalore and my cbr's radiator and engine block is mucked up, any hints on clean up? shampoo and surf is not simply cutting it.
any hints in cleaning these parts?

                        Thanks

                          Hey Manan,

The engine area can somehow be cleaned up by a strong spray of water or experienced hands but the radiator my man is something of a bitterish pill in my opinion. Thing is, traditionally, one would try and straightening the fins of the radiator with a steel pin or some such thing while carefully using a brush to clean out the muck stuck between the fins. Now the problem is that most of us don't really know how to be gentle enough while cleaning a radiator so we end up bending the fins and making a mess anyway. The mechanics at the service center can do a decent job but they need to be free and patient in order to do it... You can try giving it for a clean and lube up - tell them to especially clean up the radiators and sort its fins. I've even heard head mechanics tell me to just ignore as it makes no difference to heat management on the ceeber if muck is stuck on one part of the radiator... when I told him that I cant bear to see it, he said do what others do... Wait till you cant bare to see it and then get it replaced for 4000 bucks... One last option is to give it to those specialist radiator shops near Urvashi Theatre, Bangalore - they will remove the radiator... do a good job of cleaning and put it back (don't however complain about vibrations if any develop in this case)... .... So gauging all this... I decided to listen to my mech after all - use it, try maintaining it and cleaning it until most all fins are bent or damaged then get a new one replaced.

                          Cheers mate.

Nothing other than OE is available for chain & sprocket set.It is made by Rolon & is around 2000/2400/- with fitment @ the ASC.If you want something better then you will have to import it from outside of India.Since CBR is an International model lot of Cos are making chains & sprockets in various teeth combos for it.Amazon ,Riders discount,Partzilla are some of the retailers shipping to India, check it out,but nothing will be this side of 9000/10000/-.

Thankfully you're okay enough to be cursing the idiot... Ah the frame slider, sorry bout the ride though bro. That thing is an essential, especially in Indian conditions I'd say - Imagine how messed up you'd get to see your ceeber fallen off the stand at a parking lot... Need to get a set put pronto for me too... Thats a soft way of remembering to get them put...
