If you wish to go with 3 inch projector you will need to check clearence on the upper side of the reflector. My 2.5 inch projector is having clearence difficulties there.

$115 (+$25 shipping) for 55W seems like a decent pricing...
I am still light years away from HID kits...not until my warranty expires at least.

Can anyone confirm if a 9AH battery will fir the CBR's battery compartment? I am already struggling with a twin horn.

        • Hi,
          1. Last week stuck a tank pad on junior's belly. I stuck it bit above the tank base. For me the scuffs are not happening near seat-tank joint.
Wanted protection little up where I rest my gloved hands place some stuff etc. As you know these fish bone tank pads offer less protection near the base.
So just bought a textured sticker from local detailing shop, cut that into a semi circle and stuck it at the tail bone of tank pad. So his tank pad is now four piece (not three piece!

          2. Meanwhile also put one shifter sock. Normally I wear ankle length leather boots as I walk 15 minutes fast pace to catch transport daily and want to protect myslef from twisted ankle which I was prone to and also use them as riding boots. The gear shifter started to eat away one of the boots. As I am very particular about boots wanted to protect my ankle protector in turn (oh man!). This looks like has protected boot leather texture of one pair and have to test it if protects other leather textures I wear. Doesn't look to be a long lasting thing at the moment.

Where did you get the shifter socks? Need to get 1 for myself. All my formal and casual shoes get wasted due to a black mark from the gear shifter.

I am using a pair of Hella's with a cutout. Will fit an Amaron 9AH, as current battery can't even take the load of the ignition when the (pilots+radiator fan) are running together

I need some help sourcing a good quality tankpad. I got one for 250 bucks but it peeled off in less than 2 months, leaving ugly traces of glue on the tank...took a lot of elbow grease to get it off! Don't want to go for the Keiti ones - they are too expensive at 1000 bucks. Any other suggestions? Something in the 500 range maybe?

Those shifter socks - where did you get them? What material are they made of?

              • SHIM clearance on my bike after I specifically asked the SVC guys to give me the values:

                Inlet: 17 mm
                Outlet: 27 mm

there is considerable noise from the cylinder head. Should I do something about the SHIMS now or in the future?
Are the clearance in the accepted range or not?

I couldn't locate in Bangalore, so my rider friend got it from US. Such a simple item - I don't know why nobody is making it here!.

Found that good quality tank pads are somehow expensive. The helmet paradise guy had only one Keiti for 1K and told me to go to Orion for more choices, but by then got this one from friend. I guess 1K is reasonable for Keiti, considering that you don't have to replace it once in two months and the removal could be easier with it. May be Orion has more choices.

Shifter sock is made from neoprene. I am not sure how long it will last. Again couldn't find it here as my last reply.

                      mentioned figures are just fine....

                      inlet factory clearance : 16mm +- 4 mm
                      exhaust factory clearance : 27 +- 4 mm.

as per the numbers given it seems just fine.. though the constant tik tik is very annoying.. but to be very true.. there is no solution to it..
dont waste money in getting shims changed also if the shim clearance gets tight if you force them to replace shims and if done incorrectly .. you'll end up with the blown piston ( and i have seen it happening )

guys get good quality tank-pads.. keti, probiker etc are good.. i know the cost sometimes seems high but once fixed they will easily last for 2-3 years and wont look bad..

this is what i have :

Lethal Threat YSLT70053 Throned Reaper Tank Pad for All Sportbikes | eBay

its now selling for 2700 for it shows import from US> however i got it off ebay 8 months back for 1050.. local dealer. keep checking
its darn good.. looks good and gives good protection..

                      here a live pic

check out more tank pads here from local sellers . prices are quite ok as in US .. decent tank pad sells for 15 $- 20 $
that comes down close to 1000 bucks and none of these are made in india. accounting import + freight + taxes..
                      1000 bucks seems fine..

                      • Got keiti tank pads for my bike yesterday from Orion and yes, choices are limited over there too

But they seem good, doesnt look like it'll come off any soon. Considering the online ones do not come cheap, this kind of works for me.
It all begins with a thumb-start -- Oh, wait, I forgot the kill-switch

well.. now the solution is here.. the rattle is from the fairing.. get a small rubber peice from a old tube and insert it between the fine gap between the headlight top part and the fairing.
also the inclination sensor is dry type... cos cutting ( honda literally saved 5 bucks for every bike they made ) that is what rattles actually..

another point that rattles comes from is the top of the engine head. there is a small compartment. sometimes there is a small plate that gets loose. get that checked..

From what I can make out, the vibes are not coming from the fairing. I can very clearly feel the vibrations only at my inner thighs - meaning that it's the tank which is vibrating harshly. The handlebars and footpegs do not show any signs of vibration. Maybe it's that plate which you are referring to?
