Stock ContiGos and 29/33 PSi (maintain 33 psi at rear as my wife mostly rides pillion except when I am commuting to office). Guess the roads are the culpritsOriginally posted by theironhorse99 View Post

Yes it happens with correct tyre pressure also this is the first thing i noticed when shifted to cbr ... conti tends to generate higher friction noise than any other tyre seen by me..Originally posted by bbsrailfan View PostBTW did anyone notice unusually high tyre noise at high speeds (a kind of howling noise normally heard from truck tyres) ? I am maintaining correct pressure.HISTORY IS NOT ABOUT WHO IS RIGHT BUT ABOUT WHO WRITES IT.......

My bikes meter backlight flickers when I switch on the lights ,when bike parked for a long time. As I keep riding the flickering stops and everything will be absolutely fine. Flickering takes its own time and not very frequent. Is this common? Only left side flickers a bit.CBR 650F <02/2017>

I had this issue on my Unicorn Dazzler. It's a bad LED. In my case the service centre guys said the whole speedometer will have to be replaced as it's not possible to replace just the LED. Got it replaced for free as my bike was still under warranty.Originally posted by samarth14feb View PostMy bikes meter backlight flickers when I switch on the lights ,when bike parked for a long time. Here is the thread I read it from:Originally posted by icemang View PostI don't think so. The manual sets the first oil change at 1200 kms (if I remember) so there is no need to lose the balance 200 kms and get the oil changed prematurely.
Honda CBR-250R : One Year Review - Team-BHP
The article:
Running In | Ash On Bikes
It says it applies to modern Engines as well.
On a side note, is it recommended to have a little bit of clutch free play or is the stock setting(TD bike had absolutely no free play) good enough?

John, there are gazillions of threads on the net each thread suggesting something different - and at the ned, it all ends in one confusing mess. Most of the old (and new) owners here will agree that it's always best to stick to the manual. The break-in methods and engine oil topics have always been very subjective and everyone's preferences differ a lot.Originally posted by jhonmathews View PostHere is the thread I read it from:

Last week i visited a tyre shop to get an idea about the options available in the market. The owner had great knowledge about tyres. He was an authorised dealer of pirelli tyres and many others. He sells only original tyres with invoice and warranty card.
He explained me about each and every tyre
Psd: Best tyre but out of stock every where in india. 130/70 is still available. He even had 160/70 diablo tyre for 11k
Mrf: 1.) zapper q- average tyre, value for money, decent grip.
2.) 150/60(the one on the duke 200). Trash. Puncture inviting tyre
3.) Zapper(the one on the fz-s) worst tyre ever. Third class
Duro: so-so. Not great. Grip is decent.
Irc: He laughed and said Trash.
Contigo: third class in first batch but the current lot is excellent. Wonderful build quality, excellent service support(3yrs warranty). Best value for money(Rs2800 with bill).
Even though he was criticising tyres still he had all of them in stock. He said that it is important to have variety in stock.

Damn! so the end result is that we are still stuck with Contigos! Any ideas if the 130/70 pirelli will fit properly in the CBR.Originally posted by Mail2vasant View PostContigo: third class in first batch but the current lot is excellent. Also, did you enquire about the front tyre options.
Do PM/post the tyre shop details.

Just back from my 2nd unscheduled visit to City Honda service. I was constantly getting an annoying creaking noise from the front forks. (NOT from Fairings). But as luck would have it, the sound couldn't be reproduced either by the mechanic or by me while the engineer with me. He tightened the fairing bolts, adjusted the chain tension, lubed the chain, cleaned the disk pads (by blowing compressed air) and asked me to come back if the problem persisted.
Overall a very positive response, and no service charges, for the 2nd time with a row.
Hole the positive experience continues....Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

For front the best option is psd in stock size. He said that 130/70-17 can be fitted.Originally posted by Mik View PostDamn! so the end result is that we are still stuck with Contigos! Any ideas if the 130/70 pirelli will fit properly in the CBR.

Rear try for IRC 140/70 IFu can find one for reasonable rates.
Psd 130/80 is used by a few, I know one person, & review from him is positive, but minor speedometer error., that can be neglected."you may delay, but time will not.."

I agree. The new stock of Contigos feel like they come after being run-in i.e you get the sort of grip you would expect after 5k run-in without running in these brand new tyres.Originally posted by Mail2vasant View Post

Replaced both my tyres to conti(the rear lasted me 10k while the front ran about 12k kms) and the grip is much much better than what it used to be with stock. Also noticed the new tyres are wearing out a bit faster now. Barely 3k kms on the old one and the grooves are reducing in size. Filled in Nitrogen this time and i will admit the rolling friction has drastically reduced and the bike felt as if it was hovering above the road even over the hottest of concrete surfaces. Just not sure how long the pressure will last though. Been told to come in to check air pressure once in 2 months but that is stretching it considering i commute 60kms 6 days a week.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
