And never expected him to be your riding buddy! That's one heartening news!

BTW what's an Activa doing among all the beasts?????? Poor thing, she'll get scared silly :P

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

aahh.. now i remember reading that pan india trip updates here, just dint strike me.
i had a '91 rx100 too!! (posted some restoration thread here.. but that thread is incomplete due to laziness and a lost memory card)and the CBZ classic way back in 2000 when i was in class 12 , i had to give up the RX100 recently after almost 12yrs of owning it (but i can still pick it up anytime since it belongs to a relative legally )
and i don't think Mr.Prakash Holla would be wanting to sell that bike off..after completing such a feat.
i just asked if it was up for sale because i assumed your friend might be a 'young rich bugger'.. (you know what i mean ) and i am desperately looking for a 'big' bike on a decent budget.

trust me with the traffic.. that is one thing i enjoy riding the most in city with my shorts and sheepish looks on weekends just for the stroll in afternoons and evening...
            i can park it anywhere
i can ride it with ease..
            i can stop anywhere
no one tries to screw it up.
just needs engine oil change every 3k
            no vibrations..
cops dont catch the poor bike.
it wont go fast even if you want.. its safe..
dont have to carry my sling bag ... storage..

            list goes on and on...
            no clatter..
            bigges of all NO SHIMS..

being a cbr owner and sadly accepting .. yes.. resale is low.. market isin't for powerful fuel guzzlers..
however i dont plan to sell anytime.. so not worried.. but premium bikes do go for steep price step downs..

No second thoughts on the utility of a easy-scoot in city limits! What I meant was - the Activa would feel scared parked among all those monsters!

Speaking of resale values - I had recently checked with an 'evaluator' who told me that higher the cc of a bike, lower it's resale value.

sadly that's how the seconds market has shaped up..

                      Thats bound to happen...

Demand and supply curve.. demand of premium products (bikes) is less hence low resale.. the price drop every year is steeper than any commuter

And although I have been reading, just wanted to know from some whether the abs is really worth it? I went for a test ride and I braked hard at about 60kmph and the bike stopped really smoothly. I doubt the abs kicked in(might have not braked hard enough I suppose) because I couldn't feel the brakes pulsing. Was it the abs?

When everything tend to become public, some people might want to pretend or carryout everything private. So, new proverb could be (3)"eat and dress for yourself". So, CBR can still be a color we like, if we follow (3) only if we are not here for maximum benefit. So, buy the color without thinking about anything other than what your heart says. Whatever your heart says – it is good. CBR is that good J.
:-O sirjee! bacche ki jaan loge kya!!!

But yes, the bold part captures the essence of the entire paragraph. We have hundred+ CBR owners here and everyone has their own choice and preference. If a buyer were to depend on the preference of all the members here, he would be waiting forever to make a choice. Just listen to your heart and you wont regret it!

And yes, the CBR is a goodlooking machine - and would look equally good in any shade of VIBGYOR except for Pink. I am completely sold on the CBR125's Grey Repsol livery...wish I could get it on the 250R

I know that buddy - but a repainted bike will never look as well-finished and as polished as stock, unless someone spends ~25k+ on the painting/clearcoating jobs. I recently enquired about repainting my alloys and the guy was charging me 6k. Not that dislike the candy red - it is still a headturner after a waxpol job! I do have some plans for later, but it will mostly be matte vinyl and not paint.
