The problem is, the ASC(Prashankar Auto, JM Road, Pune) that said 15 days, didn't show a very keen response in selling the bike Also, there was a bike on display and on asking she said it was a customer's bike. Judging by the fact that they had kept an owner's bike on display, I doubt they would maintain the bike properly.
The other ASC(Yash Honda, Hadapsar, Pune) Was good at building a rapport. But I have read somewhere about a guy from bangalore saying that the 2013 produced C-ABS 250r is available within 15 days so I doubt Yash Honda would be selling a 2013 produced bike.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Also, I own a Honda Stunner as of now and there's an issue. I have given my bike to two ASCs in Pune, Yash Honda and B.U.Bhandari. B.U. Bhandari was Pathetic so I gave it to Yash honda. They were better but still horrible. I don't know a lot about the internals of a bike so I can't sit with them and watch what they do but I am pretty sure they replace anything and everything instead of fixing the existing part. I say so because they have replaced my clutch plate about 7 times now(25000kms on the odo) because the gears make sounds while shifting. They have charged a bomb each time I give it to them.
So I resort to other means by giving my bike to local mechanics and they do a good job.

My problem is, I don't want to give the CBR to a local mechanic because I don't trust him with a bike that has an ECU and would probably be more complex to fix if something goes wrong. And I can only imagine what the ASC would charge. What do I do? Anyone from Pune care to shed some light?
    Hi
I was told the waiting period for the cbr at b.u. bhandari was around 45 days ,they didnt mention the year of build. Also i was told by some of my friends about the lack of good asc's and unavailability of major parts. The tri color which i wanted was also not available hence i went for the duke. Btw im in ur fb friends(utkarsh). And dude replacement of clutch plates 7 times in 25k kms is a serious issue, im pretty sure that guy ripped u off.
All the bikes given to me for test rides were of some or the other owners. Also why dont you try to go for duke? Has all the things except c-abs.

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

as per the numbers given it seems just fine.. though the constant tik tik is very annoying.. but to be very true.. there is no solution to it..
dont waste money in getting shims changed also if the shim clearance gets tight if you force them to replace shims and if done incorrectly .. you'll end up with the blown piston ( and i have seen it happening )
          Thank you.
Yea the tik tik noise annoys me...
when there,s a CBR around mine I feel down about the noise.
What is causing this TIK- TIK noise or the noise like a dancers anklet?

that TIK TIK is the enchanting sound of SHIM DEVI praying to the Piston lord... with all possbilites.. devi maa is not ready to go silent...
she is there and she will be there for long.. maybe for ever...

I do own a pair of ProBiker gloves - but I was posing for pics after a break and had my gloves off to use the camera. Don't like the leather ones as they are too thick. Haven't tried the expensive leather ones from DSG, though.

Will surely post detailed shots of the sideboxes afterwards.

Is there any, ANY way to prevent the SHIM issue before it creeps in, rather than trying to fix it?

              • I also had this tik tik nosie and it was too much and I was also experiencing knocking even when I was pulling from 2nd gear also and I got my clutch cover damged in a accident last year so it was changed and later I found the engine head and clutch side gaskets are leaking. Gave to asc they changed the gaskets and changed two faulty rocker arms they handed me over the arms and the bearings on those arms almost refused to rotate. So they changed them also. They changed drain plug washer and two rubber mounts(don't know where they are located) and oil filter chamber gasket also.. tik tik fainted almost non-existent bike pulls like butter smooth..and touchwood no leakage..

i seriously doubt....!!!... its not an issue.. its just the natural behaviour of wearing out shims...

AFAIK properly warming up the bike before riding reduces the wearing of shims..

A 3" projector as suggested by theironhorse99 would fit perfectly but we don't get 3" ones here. The largest we get are 2.8" ones, and they are ok. You may check 3-4 pages back to see the pics.

OT, but yes, it does. I have my ICICI debit card added (mastercard) and have successfully completed 2 transactions. Do check with custcare.
