  • Just to say that I am also getting the similar efficiency from junior tiger - last tank gave 30.56 kmpl mostly in city traffic (260KM) and some NICE road (40KM).
I am happy that there are no issues!.

Yeah, with the kind of low torque the baby produces, its even joy to ride in city...and the speedo goes to 110 - 120 whenever i go to Noida / Gurgaon even before I can notice.

what they give is a very small projector with the HL assembly.. and its 35 w... no use.. it will be a show off

i plan to get a bigger projector + 55w HID 6k bi-xenon and upgrade battery to 9 ah from 6 ah
I guess 10k is agood price if they are providing the H/L assembly with projector + HID...I don't think 35W would be useless bcoz the brightness of HID is much more tthan Halogen and the projector does concentrates the beams to limited area which means more illumination. Also you don't have to upgrade to 9AH if using 35W HID.

HIDs will take time to glow but the illumination would be good...but the only issue with more than 4300k HIDs is they won't be useful in foggy and rainy conditions.

BTW the projector doesn't take time to glow!!! It's the HIDs inside the projector which take time to warm up to the optimum operating temperature. So yes, if you are planning to ride in the dark, you'd do good to let the HL warm up a bit before taking off into the darkness.
yeah, bi-xenon would work also with pass light.

@BAMBI143 : Please share a pic with your beam intensity and spread for HB & LB (Preferred if u can take the pic on a dark, straight road). I wan't very keen on HIDs - was rather thinking of a Philips XtremeVision 55W. But if that 55W HID has a really good beam spread on the road and doesn't blind the oncoming traffic, I can get in touch with Navnish.

          • Info regarding second hand CBR

I'm looking for one 250R within 1.10L. Is it correct decision to buy a 1 - 1.5 year old CBR?. Also I got some Ads of 3 year old well maintained CBR 250. BTW what is difference between 2010 and 2012 model.

The service includes change of oil, oil filter and adjustment of chain slackness. In addition to it, the bike will be washed. It would be better if you ask the ASC guys to skip the washing part. I had done so when I had my bike serviced. These guys don't do anything other than spraying water at high pressure and rubbing the metallic parts with a cloth with some kinda oil which gives a false glossy pitch black look as a new bike. I had given my bike for service and watched them do the job without letting the service personnel know that the bike he was washing is mine. So I know what they 'really' do. They don't even unscrew the RVM's bolts before folding them. I am little keen towards these things and they do irritate me. Make sure that you have them do what you want by going through the check-list at the back of the 1st free service slip in your owner's manual.

This has been discussed in so many posts in this thread. There is no hard rule with respect to how long an engine has to be broken/run-in. IMO, breaking an engine doesn't get over by 1000 km. However it works radically within the first 50 kms and gradually smoothens until it reaches a saturation point (which could be 1000, 1500 or even 2000 km), just like the pattern shown by an inverted exponential curve. It is like scrapping a hard edge with a metal filer. The initial effort shows results quickly but the actual finishing takes a longer time. Just keep riding sanely and don't worry about the odo.

This is very subjective to decide considering how the bike has been run and maintained. Though most of the riders are sane and hold their bikes close to their hearts, there are few who ride it like they stole it - all the time. So you need to look out for the shortfalls and decide accordingly. A leading point would be ask a seasoned CBR 250R rider (a xBhp member?) to take a test ride so that they can understand (to a bit at least) on how the bike performs.
The batch of CBR 250Rs that came out in 2012 had better finish quality than the first batch ones. Many issues were sorted out. For e.g., all bolts were replaced with galvanized ones, better finish of welded joints, etc. Specification-wise, there is no difference between a 2010 and 2012 CBR 250R. I think it shouldn't matter as a used 2010 model can be bought at lesser price and repaired to 2012 standards with the money saved. On the other hand, a 2012 model should be a bit dearer with nothing much to repair.

                    • how much does the rear brake pads for CBR250 (std) cost?

Also I asked my at the SVC to check my shim clearance and give me the clearance reading. They called me up and said later that I will have to pay Rs. 200 extra. I feel like its a rip off. Any suggestions to tackle this?

                        yes you may..

regarding HID ys 10K is a decent price as they give the complete assembly with everything. just wanted a big projector
what they give is a 2.5 inch. i was looking for a 3 in projector so it will look fuller in the HL assembly.. lets see how it goes.. still 6-7k km left for warranty.
so another 2 months for me before i pull the trigger

The front brake pads will cosy u 600 bucks plus taxes and the rear brake pads 700 + taxes. No idea about the shim clearances as I haven;t got it checked yet.
