no no i have posted video of my cbr doing 139 kmph on nh 8 u can check its pickup after 100 kmph..Originally posted by sunkenpirate View PostHey guys, my bike refuses to go above 145 km/h on NH4. Tried shifting every gear at 10.5k, no luck.. On my next run, tried shifting at 9.5k, again no luck. Bike stopped accelerating at 145 before I ran out of road. Accelerating 0-100 is very fast, but I felt the bike struggling to achieve 130. Even 145 came with much difficulty and that too, on a long straight patch. Especially surprising since I had touched 152 km/h relatively easily on the day I got my bike back from the first servicing.
It's done 1500 km now, with 1st servicing done at 850. Haven't lubed chain since then. Will that make enough of a difference if I lube chain before trying again? Also, I'll try slightly over inflating the tires before I make my next run, though the tire pressure is 29 psi in both tires, nitrogen.
I'd like to hear from those who have posted speeds in excess of 150 km/h, especially @thefastestindian who had posted 165 a few pages back.
the main problem is road in india they are not gud at all.
i have tryed on many roads but even i cudent touch 136 kmph on that roads so at last gone to best highway 8 and did 149 kmph after seeing speedo at 135kmph and after 4 or 5 sec it was 149kmph i was just feeling gud to touch 149 on my cbr . just give a try on gud road .
and last week touched 155 kmph while coming down from bridge its too easy to do on slope..
may be you got 35 + you are soo happy to tell the average so that means you got gud average from your bike please tell fast.Originally posted by aargee View PostNot all India, just rode all way from Chennai to Gujarat.
and do tell how much km u did on full tank ..?
so you coming to delhi or not.?
--------------
and i am loving my cbr in mud..
i have cleaned it 20 times in last 20 days but now i dont want to clean it till rain stops so it better to love the dirtyy look..

Bros, do not try to wipe mud off your bikes without a wash-the cloth will create scratches on the paint surface. You will need to get it polished&buffed later to remove it.
If it is only dust, use a soft cloth to remove the dust, then a soft microfibre cloth to shine it&remove the water marks.
On another note, a CBR guy rode beside me last evening for about 5-6 kms. We both were equally curious about each other's bikes!
Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Is it a downhill or straight road? How much do you weigh?Originally posted by Rahul Rods Tewathia View Postmy cbr doing 139 kmph on nh 8 u can check its pickup after 100 kmph..
C'mon stop saying that!!! There're excellent roads that can challenge any roads in the west.Originally posted by Rahul Rods Tewathia View Postthe main problem is road in india they are not gud at all
This is exactly what everyone is cribbing about; my friend, even I've done 147 on ODO solo on Trichy-Chennai; but mine isn't performing the same now. The issue is something else.Originally posted by Rahul Rods Tewathia View Posti have tryed on many roads but even i cudent touch 136 kmph on that roads

Why would I want to be happy? I don't care about the FE of any of my vehicles. My principle always is, if you buy an Elephant, you've to feed it. Anyway, I wanted to share it today, but, I think got a worst average on the last run. So let me calculate that & then post it.

honda genuine accessories started to roll out :
I went to the service centre to get my chain fixed and some other minor adjustments and to my surprise the mechanic said they started receiving spares for the CBR. They got the side panels, clutch plates and few other parts from honda. The surprisaing part is that honda also sent carbon fiber look alike panels. The rear silver panel and the bottom engine cowl were few of them which I got to see. The load was all scattered soi couldnt look at the other parts. The bottom cowl is priced at 1100 a piece. Looks ok. Not even close to carbon fiber though.M800 - 2001 - 5787.Nano 2011 - 5086.Figo 2011 - 518.P220 - 2010 - 5995.CBR 250R - 2011 - 250.sigpic

+1 to that. Quite a lot of good roads in India, particularly the ones in Rajasthan. Totally droolworthy.Originally posted by aargee View PostC'mon stop saying that!!! There're excellent roads that can challenge any roads in the west.

replies in bold..Originally posted by aargee View PostIn addition I want to know the weight of these people!!!
I weigh 62 kgs.. highest speed attained so far is 154kmph
Ran out of road after that.. crossing 100mph is my biggest wish now..
all of a sudden I see a HMSI showroom on the highway. I walk in there (around 6:00 PM) & tell them, I've a C250R & want to tighten the chain; they didn't object & they not only tightened the chain for me, but didn't charge anything. WOW!!! forget the charges, I'm so happy that I made a choice of a vehicle with wide spread ASC, which was one of the key point to have choosen a C250R & today I realized it
Happy to hear things like this..
Talking about FE, I did 2 runs today which was the same style of riding but...
1. Kept the speeds max upto 115 Kmph only; for 161.1 Kms from Manor to a little before Surat
around 30kmpl..
2. Kept the speeds max upto 120 Kmph; for 231.6 Kms from a little before Surat to 100 Kms before Ahmedabad
around 28kmpl..
Anyone wanna hear the outcome? Anyone wanna make guesses?Everybody dies.. But, not everybody really live!!

Any idea how much the side panels are for? My steed's left side plastics are totally gone, including the mudguard.Originally posted by thefastestindian View Posthonda genuine accessories started to roll out :

Bike trip!!
I just came back from a 3 day bike trip(Bangalore-Valparai). A few things which I've noticed ppl asking:
1. To carry luggage, I used Cramster Turtle tank bag, but as a tailbag with bungee chord. The bag also comes with a rain cover, so it works perfectly well for me. I was able to fit in clothes for 3 days, plus rain jacket and pant, plus a water bottle.
[/IMG]
2. The bike has no issues in starting/performing in cold weather, and it heavy rains. It handles very well in rain.
3. TOP SPEED: On the way back, I recorded 171kph. Just for a second. I know, there'll be a lot of guys saying it's not possible, but I was not able to believe it myself. This was on the Pollachi-Salem road, the last 100 kms before Salem, there's a loooong stretch, down hill. And I was lucky enough to get an empty stretch. Slightly cloudy weather. The wind was blowing from behind me along the road, so helping the speed. No cross winds. Fuel tank was at 1 bar. I had to crouch completely, had all riding gear on so resistance was minimum. I weigh about 82kgs, plus I had a neatly packed tailbag(about 8kgs). You really have to squeeze ever gear to it's max. Things were quite stable upto 160kph. The last 11kph was quite scary. Handling of the bike reduces quickly. Vibrations increased. I've never done such speeds before. Hands were a little numb, and the bike was screaming. Couldn't exactly notice the engine speed, but it was well towards the end. Soon after touching 171kph, I slowed down and stopped.
4. Long distances causing pain in muscles: I've read many people saying that their fore arms and upper shoulders started aching after 100 odd kms. I didn't face any such issues. We did 500 kms on day 1, 100kms on day 2, and again 500 kms on day 3. Fatigue was there after the trip, but no fitness problems during the entire ride.
More info and pics to follow. Do let me know if you have any concerns about touring on the CBR250r. After this 1100km trip, I'm pretty confident that the bike will do well on any kind of road, in any weather.
