Re: Honda CBR 250R
A lot of Indians consider price above categories. Categories work well on paper. In real life, we have guys touring on r15, guys buying milk on a ninja 650, and picking up kids on a Busa.Originally posted by @KinZ View PostGixxer SF and R15 are in two different class... we need to compare apples to apples
I haven't seen any r15 owner drop his bike on the roadside and demand a cab because his bike is not meant for commuting.
A lot of people would see the simple fact that the gixxer sf can do 80-90% of what the r15 can, at 40k less. Thus the r15 sales figures would see some damage due to people opting for the gixxer sf.
Similarly, a lot of guys opted for the CBR 250 when faced with CBR 250 vs ninja250. Price matters. CBR250 in India offered 15kmph less speed than the ninja250 at 1 lakh cheaper. Guess which bike has more sales?

Are you talking about VFM perspective or about the engineering behind the vehicles?.. please make it clear. Otherwise it will be like comparing Alto to Ferrari.Originally posted by leech View PostA lot of Indians consider price above categories. Categories work well on paper. Neither. I'm just trying to follow purchasing trends, the psychology, the thought process different people have when buying a bike.Originally posted by @KinZ View PostAre you talking about VFM perspective or about the engineering behind the vehicles?.. please make it clear. What I see is that people choose bikes based on their budget rather than based on categories. For example, a guy might look at a r15 and say "Do I need that razor sharp handling while buying biriyani from the local joint? Is that radiator really important for long distance riding? I can save 40k and still be able to do a lot of biking with the gixxer sf."
And another might say " Why should I spend 1.5L on a bullet just for touring? My unicorn can tour just as fine, minus the looks and breakdowns."Last edited by leech; 08-15-2016, 12:41 AM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
You are severely underestimating the gixxer, it might not have the top end like the r15 but still a overall amazing bike to commute and do a bit if touring, r15 seating position is something else tbh, duno about r15vs ,seating is changed. Do you know how well the gixxer one make track bikes perform, pretty darn good!Originally posted by leech View PostSuzuki is worse. As always, you do a good job of misunderstanding me. When I said Suzuki is much worse, I meant Suzuki is more lazy than Honda in introducing their models w.r.t the competition.
First the Inazuma, then the hilarious price cut on the Inazuma. Then the gixxer and sf. Where is their 250? Honda, Kawasaki, Hero, Yamaha, KTM all have their entry level sports bike. Heck, even Bajaj made the rs200. And what is Suzuki doing? These 4 years?Last edited by leech; 08-15-2016, 10:59 AM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
That's called VFM perspective.. In that sense, you can do touring on any Bike... depends on how much touring do you intend. If you are planning to do long distance touring, you might need to give preference for advanced bike. But touring to Biriyani center might not require R15.. 😂Originally posted by leech View PostNeither. Btw... Gixxer and Unicorn are the best in it's class and VFM. But no point in comparing with another class. Technology and performance are miles apart between those classesLive and Let Live >>>

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Suzuki rentered the market after a long time, if u jog your memory back before the gixxer n gixxer sf models , they did not have a grasp on the market, only since 2014 they have come back with this starter level bike which has been a huge hit, before that models like the inazuma failed. Also if u look at the bigger bikes, the hayabusa at 15L because of it being CKD has been a game changer soo has the gsx s-1000(naked and faired) have taken this segment by storm. Also have you seen the gixxer one make bikes and the platform? Offer a Chance for riders of all ages to participate, I agree its not as quick as the r15 but still a fantastic overall bike, now if the gixxer 250 if priced right, and power figures are good, you could see a game changer.Originally posted by leech View PostAs always, you do a good job of misunderstanding me. Re: Honda CBR 250R
I feel the Gixxer 250 will have the same engine as the Inazuma.. if so, then we cannot expect the cost to remain low unless they plan on bringing a single pot engine.. then CBR and Mojo will have serious competitor from Suzuki.. the looks are fresh and appealing as compared to the CBR250R.. apart from that, their blue Moto GP edition colour is a win win..Originally posted by zeeshan300975 View PostDear leech

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Honda are a good two years behind, they should atleast introduced a new bike in this segment last year, if not the 300r atleast the 500r, and now with the news the 250rr wouldn't launch, it honestly makes 0 sense, and why are people say they might stop production and the availability of spares will become less, if that happens , Honda are just retarded.Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostI feel the Gixxer 250 will have the same engine as the Inazuma.. if so, then we cannot expect the cost to remain low unless they plan on bringing a single pot engine.. then CBR and Mojo will have serious competitor from Suzuki.. the looks are fresh and appealing as compared to the CBR250R.. apart from that, their blue Moto GP edition colour is a win win..
