And the oil leak from gasket area magically vanished just as I was going to head to the SVC. I gave the bike a kick for phucking with me. 9th tip over happened, with zero damage. Customer satisfaction : 99.99%.

You seem to have a very masochistic relationship with your bike. 50 shades much? :P

On a more serious note: Guys, I really would like some pointers on zero-dep insurance! Directions?

Guys can you give me Rough figure on how much fuel left when the last bar starts to blink?

The last bar stays solid at times and some times starts to blind..

Also i need to fold back the mirrors in my parking and wen i move it to default position it tends to get lose..

I think blinking bar shows reserve. I could do almost 10-15 kms before I refuelled.
The mirrors are a nuisance, if u ask me. I folded them while doing a speed run. When I tried to push it back to ita original place, it became loose on its main bolt and rotated all the way forward (-.-)
I've removed the mirrors for now and am searching for a better alternative. Preferrably in the form of bar end mirrors. Ya know? Short and look cool!

Guys, does the fuel evaporate from our bikes if we keep them out in the sun for long periods? My neighbour's grandma keeps annoying me on this.

May be because, bajaj and ktm uses EVAP tech to avoid this.

yes it does albeit very slowly. is the neighbors grandma getting high on the fumes?
or is the evaporation too obvious i.e. smelling petrol fumes? if so, get it checked.

When the last segment shows up, out of six, with the bike upright, you have approximately 2.5 liters of fuel. When the last segment flashes, it's even lower. Refuel ASAP.

I must say that cracked me up good deal. Grandma high on fumes. Well, I only wonder the kind of things a granny would do getting high.

Yes, fuel does evaporate, be it motorcycles or any other medium. This is where EVAP system comes into play. Case in point, I've experienced this personally in my motorcycle, though just a couple of instances. The odor will linger for around 5 to 10 mins and goes traceless and it's hard to even smell where it came from in the first place. Just a fart from the EVAP system, would be my best guess. But, nonetheless Bajaj only recently started using EVAP systems. The earlier Duke didn't have an EVAP systems, they've added this EVAP system in the current newer lots so that they are recirculated instead of the fumes being let out to atmosphere, which is waste of fuel, plus the addition of BS IV which means more greener and efficient.

                    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

And also got this done.

All the best for your trip! Returned last week from Rajsthan. By the way, FZ's oil filter is not an upgrade. Check the bulb before changing brake switch. It might have got one point fused. If bulb is fine, you may adjust switch location if pressing pedal is not triggering it on.

OEM only brother! That costs 300 Rs and lasts for 12k KM.

I think I have already explained once why I don't want to play with vital parts of a motor. I have no issue if someone is using FZ oil filter. My own logic doesn't allow me fiddling in such areas. What I did I took an FZ filter which was sparingly used and a new CBR250 oil filter. Took a bowl of fresh 10w40 motor oil and dipped each filter one by one keeping the orifice up and counted on how long it takes to fill the filter with oil. CBR filter took no time to fill up while fz filter took more time as expected. CBR one is a high flow one and have better permeability than the fz one. I think a long series of engineering and experiment would have involved deciding the filter in lieu to feed oil to vital parts. Even if result would be negligible, I would not use any other filter which is made for a 150 cc motor. That's my personal opinion and it may differ from others.

Yes, I had my doubts about that. However, I felt that trying to save ₹250 after spending ₹24,000 on petrol (cost of petrol over 12k change interval) didn't make much economical sense.

Chain after cleaning with 2T/gear oil. You won't get the fresh, super clean look that the chain cleaner gives you, but, it gets the job done.
36.5k on odometer as of now.
