Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hi friends, after doing so much research and reading reviews I have finally decided to buy cbr250r. The vehicles in my final list were STD500 bullet,Dominar 400 and cbr250r. One doubt, is there any issue in buying it from Kerala and use it in Bangalore?

What! Why?? No! Stay away from the 180 RTRs man. Stay away from TVS! What's wrong with the unicorn? :P Frankly speaking, just get a FZ25. In the long run, that's how much you'll spend on keeping the RTR running. Mileage of both bikes also seems to be in the same vicinity. Get a smooth, fast, high capacity and low maintenance bike! RTR will be like sucker-punching yourself.Originally posted by fullmoon View Post
Thinking about selling my old bullet & unicorn & buy a apache 180-abs. so i can use apache 180-abs for daily commutes (45 km) & and plan to use cbr 250 for long rides- less than 1000 km per month. Your suggestions would be useful as you already own both cbr 250r & apache 180.Don't matter what it is: Touring; Racing; Commuting. All I know is, I belong on the saddle.
Rides : Honda CB Twister(Feb 2011 - Present) | TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS(Sept 2012 - May 2016) | Honda CBR250R C-ABS Repsol(March 2017 - Present)

Re: Honda CBR 250R
CBR can commute too, don't waste money on getting another bike for commuting. I use my CBR for all purposes including ferrying my friend's cock (bird) to the vet, carrying some water cans and banana plants.
Sell the bullet and the unicorn at a good price, then save the cash into bank FD or mutual fund till you can afford to upgrade.

Of course there's going to be a problem every time you go out the police will stop you for no reason also if you're going to use in Bangalore why not buy there itself.Originally posted by shan2306 View PostHi friends, after doing so much research and reading reviews I have finally decided to buy cbr250r. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Dont ever go for TVS if you want to commute..
You might have to ride back to pick up the fallen parts of your bike :P
CBR is all rounder bike imo.. you can pretty much do everything with it..
I myself Ride Passion X pro and CBR.. i find CBR is perfectly balanced..
If you want to commute 45km on bike, i suggest you to stick with CBR or get a FZ25..
Dont ever think of TVS.. cos the vibration it has you will hate riding it..

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Bangalore and Kerala police do stop other state vehicles frequently, in case of Bangalore its just checking and Kerala police its more with mods, like ive heard Kerala police are very unfriendly, soo even a cosmetic change on ur bike they will question.Originally posted by Dandamudi Mohan Krishna View PostOf course there's going to be a problem every time you go out the police will stop you for no reason also if you're going to use in Bangalore why not buy there itself.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
That's because so many clowns just love to strut around here like a peacock. The mod fever is so high on Kerala right now, that people are shocked I don't have any mods on my bike. Wide handlebar, smoked lights, underbody LEDs. They don't want to wear a helmet because it would mess with their Perfectly coiffed hair and beard; these heros drive 10-20 km with irritatingly loud exhuasts and call it bike ride.
Cops ain't gonna sit still. RTO squad guys are even worse. They won't settle with less bribe.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
thats wrong bro. I used to go to kerala on my KA registed CBR. there is no problem at check post or with traffic police in Kerala. they are serious but decent to passengers. if u do much mods on any bike, definitely you are screwed. Rather Bangalore police guys are really nasty people.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostBangalore and Kerala police do stop other state vehicles frequently, in case of Bangalore its just checking and Kerala police its more with mods, like ive heard Kerala police are very unfriendly, soo even a cosmetic change on ur bike they will question.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Originally posted by k.sagar View Posti talked with the owner of first bike over skype and father of that owner lives in mumbai.
i don't know how the transfer of ownership will go through because i heard the owner needs to be present in person at the RTO.
I also bought a used CBR250R STD (8100 km on odo at the time when I bought it - November 2011 model) from Delhi and transferred it to Noida RTO (UP) in 2015. I would like to share my experience. It might be helpful for you.
Following documents are required to get it registered on your name.
1. A valid RC book.
2. Valid insurance.
3. PUC.
4. Form 28 duly signed by previous owner (owner will provide you).
5. Form 29 and 30 duly signed by you and owner (owner will provide you).
6. NOC from previous RTO office (owner will provide you).
7. Two passport size photos of owner.
8. Copy of Receipt of bike where it was purchased from. (If you are changing the state, the taxes will be calculated on the basis of the price it was bought at that time. Total would be 10% of the purchasing value - there will be a depreciation of 5% each year.)
8. Your address proof. (voter ID, Adhar, LIC document which should be 6 months old on that address your are currently residing). If rent agreement, then you need the Pan Card of Landlord and his/her signature on that along with a letter and an affidavit mentioning that you are residing in his house as a tenant. It also may need a Police verification as well (If you go by broker, it may not).
Make a file of all the documents. Once it gets processed, you will asked for NCRB certificate printout (you will get from computer guys sitting in RTO campus).
Owner presence if not required.
If change of state, then you need to pay the Taxes again. I bought mine for 85 thousands and paid taxes Rs. 13080 + 5000 broker charge. In total, I spent almost Rs 105000 for that CBR. I tried to get it registered without help of broker, but after wasting 3 days in vain from here to there, from this window to that window, and missing office for 2 days, all I thought to get a help of a broker. RTO department is the one of the most corrupt govt. departments of India. If you have time, you can try it on your own. It can be done without broker too.
One more thing to share. RTO department guys are careless too. I got RC Book with wrong bike name on it. They wrote CBF, 125 cc, 10 HP on my RC book. Fortunately, chassis and engine numbers were correct. Rode with the same RC for one and half years. I recently got it corrected a month ago. This time without broker, and got it done in one day. Procedure is to write an application to RTO, attach copy of insurance and RC book. They charge 150 Rs for new RC book including service charge of maintaining the same in their database.
Hope this helps.Last edited by arvstreetracer; 03-09-2017, 06:35 PM.-----

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Guys my bike has stalled on the road, just a few secs after leaving the house. It has symptoms of flooded engine - starter motor turns over, fuel pump primes, and the engine turns over slowly without success.
Opening the throttle fully and starting the vehicle makes the vehicle turn over slowly.Last edited by leech; 03-09-2017, 06:29 PM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Now crank it again and simultaneously twist and release throttle to full extent multiple times till it gets starts.Originally posted by leech View PostGuys my bike has stalled on the road, just a few secs after leaving the house. Thanks. Started now.Originally posted by arvstreetracer View PostNow crank it again and simultaneously twist and release throttle to full extent multiple times till it gets starts.
This has happened to me 4 times in 4 years and wasted 10-20 minutes of my life each time. Do other bikes like KTM and Kawasaki do the same?Last edited by leech; 03-09-2017, 06:36 PM.
