Until I get an inverter, this is gonna be the setup.
What Vijay(guess I got the name correct @B7ACKTHOTN sir) said is, you can use the ups to charge the bike battery, and he did not mention to use the ups battery for your requirements where you have already mentioned it did not provide you the necessary power. The charging time will be higher but you do not have to invest in a separate inverter+battery setup for your lower power requirement.

If I remember correct he himself uses/used that setup to charge the bike battery or other similar battery.

I need to power a small fan using the battery during power cuts, since my latest house doesn't have an inverter yet. Thus the query.
Since the cbr is liquid cooled it may not overheat (you know as you ride the air flow also plays role in providing some cooling effect).
On idle the charging voltage will be very minimum and might not be quick enough to balance the discharge rate. Only at around 4000+rpm does the RR provide the max juice to the battery to keep up the charge.
The are just maybe's imo, so i wouldn't risk doing this.

Thanks for the replies guys, I won't be drawing current from the bike, just charging a depleted battery by running the vehicle in idle.

Aah.. Got your point. Then it's just a waste of fuel and I don't think running these tiny motorcycle batteries flat(or almost) often is good for their life either. If you still want to use this motorcycle battery then it's better you get it charged at a local battery shop(may cost you less than 100rs) otherwise you can use the ups juggad to recharge the battery and finally, maybe get yourself a battery tender

You're right sid, it's not good to deplete the battery. That's why I turn off the usb phone/fan charger when the battery voltage goes below 12v.

So basically what Im going do is this : use the spare CBR battery for phone/usb fan, then when battery's voltage goes below 12v under load, I charge it using the CBR 250 engine for 10-20 minutes, then use the battery again till it depletes to 12v. That way I get to save the battery as well as have less stress on the RR unit.

I took my bike delivery yesterday and REPSOL STD and it's fitted with MRF ZAPPER S tyres. There was no stickers provided to me So I have mailed Honda to confirm the same. Will notify here once I get a reply back.

You won't be getting any notification on the dispatch (Actually it purely depends on the Showroom you have booked). You can contact the showroom to get the details on your bike.

In the mean read more about the bike here in this thread. Seriously a useful thread.

              Thanks

                2. Is it the right time? Cuz I don't think the KTM svc centres service Kawasakis now, post the Bajaj-Kawa breakup...
Do not buy any Kawasaki bikes as of now.
It's a nightmare for all the owners nowadays, the problem is with service and spare parts, currently Bajaj and Kawasaki has gone separate ways and all the owners are having terrible time and most of their bikes are waiting for spare parts and service..

Ohh mine was t nagar, I got a better deal from t nagar than from thousand lights, they were offering a 2013 model at a higher price, I got the 2014 model for 1,76,000 after tax for non abs which was the best rate at the time, I checked out the kun Honda in adyar n thousand lights, they were refusing to offer discount on the 2013 model, I wasn't aware of the showroom in Egmore at the time, only got to know after first service.

Hey guys, I dropped the bike today. Literally, dropped, not crashed. The clutch lever bent. So, I was thinking whether the levers from the new Duke 390 fit? The adjustable ones?
I'm just not looking towards the aftermarket one or even with the stock levers.

Now, I am not sure about the prices of the new Duke 390's levers. The CBR's are forged ones and are costly levers, but the quality of the levers are excellent. You can head to a nearest KTM showroom and check the prices for the adjustable levers. Lo and behold, you'd eventually see people dropping their bikes due to unfortunate circumstances and the levers broken and bent. Should probably cost somewhere in the 150 bucks per lever (just a guesstimate)

                        Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                        The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                        THE END

I really doubt the lever's quality. They seem sensitive to me. I had to change them every time I dropped the bike. It didn't survive a single fall.

old Duke or RC levers cost less.

But i doubt that it will suit CBR..

Levers depends upon the Position position and clutch switch position..

I tried on aftermarket levers on my NS and it jammed my front brake.. luckily it was just 10~15kmph ride.. :P

Try the local clutch levers for the Unicorn. They cost like ₹80 and you can replace them every time without much wallet damage.

I'm using a local clutch lever since the original is out of stock at the SVC. 10k kms so far, they feel a bit small, but work fine.

When my bike fell for the 7th time at standstill, the clutch lever bent like a banana. It broke when I tried to set it straight. Even worse than levers, sometimes the handlebar gets bent too.
