Driving style - This is not a matter for C250R. I moved from an 125cc Bajaj bike to this after considering my options. Initially I moved it like a normal bike in city .. got info on how to handle it from this forum .. then moved as I was 6 years back .. Also I am calm and sedate, I dont test the vehicle if it can reach 9K+ rpm ... I am confident it will and one day I will when it necessitates. Really push it in all gears and rpm. No Issues.
Mileage -- I am not sure of this .. But in my last test, 55km city and 85 kmhighway, I got 39 kmpl. If you are too sensitive on mileage, dont buy this .. even if you buy you will not regret unless you are like one of my good neighbors .. telling my scooty delivers more kms than urs .. why did you spend this much.
2. I was tight on budget unlike you .. but choose the ABS version .. I dont want to break the bike or its fairings bcoz of mistake in braking.
3. I had this question nearly from Jan 2011, even very frequently on the 2 days before making full payment. It all depends on how long u want to own this. I am planning this to be my bike for next 10 to 15 yeas. If you are that kind, then this is not a question to worry.
4. 2 years is child's play for this bike (initial impressions .. even pulsar does that).
5. Wrong question .. you shud know the answer being an Yamaha owner
6. In the range you mentioned, there is no vibration. I tested this last week only.. I have not completed my 1st service also .. so think things shud be better after that. But definitely it is not butter smooth like Unicorn .. little harsh (hardly noticeable) and it smooths out on higher revs
7. 100kmph is cakewalk .. repeated question.
8. Handling is one of the best traits of this bike. Weight balance even with pillion rider is great. I am 25-30 age range. average build. I do cornering with all confidence and the ABS aids on braking in these cornerings too
9. Not tested.. But tested on roads with potholes covered with debris. It came to halt .. but can feel the teething of ABS on the brake levers
10. xbhp recommends not to lug this vehicle. And for any bike, you need to take it to all rev ranges at least for a short duration duringthe runin period.. or the bike will become a duck
If I can enter your decision of changing R15 for C250R with your permission, my answer is NO.
R15 (mainly v1.0) was one of my vehicles in the list. It went out bcoz
1. C250R was available in the market and v2.0 did not impress me (i always like conservativeness in style)
2. My sister travels a lot with me .. the seats are too small in R15 .. atleast they are considerate on C250R
3. A higher CC bike was always my ambition .. plus world wide launched bike .. plus Honda's claimed engine .. plus almost all tech available in car on this machine ... DOHC .. not even availale on most cars .. added the pricing (this is the killer factor).. even Hero motocorp is desinging some bike with this engine ... the right commuter + tourer
These re my factors when a bike like C250R is available for sale.
But the first time I fired R15 v1.0, all I felr was the exhaust note on the handle bars, no vibes, no harshness. The power ofthe 150cc .. how to make best use of the cubic capacity. Better FE .. When I think all these factors along with financial mathematics, you should not replace your R15 for 8 years atleast. Enjoy .. I dont think you will find a big leap bcoz of changing to C250R.. Equally better bike is R15 .. all you may get is the head turing on you when you cross on the roads .. note this is for just next 6 months. Already many bikes are out on roads .. people will settle .. Be proud of your bike's positives... If you can afford this C250R, dont give away R15 as I keep my first batch Discover 125
for its sturdity which you cannot get in today's bikes.
