Hi friends,

This would be my own review on CBR 250R no offence on any owned person.

Today i went to Thane Honda to find out the real things likde test ride and purchase, maintenance, etc....

I am a happy owner of R15 from past 1.2yrs... i still think that i had a wise decision not going for p220..as i wanted better quality and same generation technology.

Today i took a test ride of a CBR 250r ABS...

And below are my opinions:
1. Bike riding posture wasn't that friendly as it should be??? i was sinked in the bike....
2. handling was not good... we have revive hard to get a speed..
3. Brakes were awesome..really tried skitting on sand but tyres didn't skit...awesome !!!!
4. 26kmpl average said by sale rep...
5. parts are costlier than R15 as he said...
6. Not at all felt like riding a 250cc...
7.ABS light was getting off again and again...
8. horn are same like R15...
I have riden RE 500/350cl... infact that gives more better feel of power and riding posture...

i don't think that any person who owns a R15 would prefer CBR250cc...

Rode good 3 km stretch on highway..

R15 shows the pick up and smothness very easily and can be noticed..

CBR was late on those points...

Still i think Nnja 250cc is worth 3 lakhs...CBR won't be an issue if the purchaser has not owned a R15...

Saw new R15 today ..it rocks....But in power and speed after some open road CBR rocks!!!

But i feel that 250cc should show it's strenght righ tfrom start..

Rest all your decisions...

1.5 lakhs for 250cc is good but not better as as time pass we can feel the cons of the bikes...

REAR TYRE WAS THE BEST PART IN THE BIKE......

I had an accident this morning, was going office on my CBR, when on a Red light less crossing, came another motorcycle from left side and went into me.
1. Left RVM is gone, duno what hit it.
2. Left fairing is loosen now.
3. A Small crack on Left side of Fairing
Attaching pics here, any suggestion for the crack, as i think this will keep growing due to gadde wadde, how to fix it or should i change it?

Btw I am safe, no harm done to me and that bloody hero honda cd100 wala also.

PS: I am tired by these peoples, driving here in UP, bloody hell, no one follow the Traffic rule, wearing helmet is sin here, and racing with other achievements, everyone drive in mid, no meaning of Lane!!! Sorry but this is my bhadas,

I don't think it's either of the two.. Engine obviously sounds stressed at higher speeds, and is also pretty noisy above 8k, but that is to be expected from a single cylinder. Also, I get FE of about 22 km/l, but that might be due to the fact that I'm kind of rev-happy.

I'll keep an ear out for tappet noise the next time I go for a ride.

Finally got the Left RVM mirror from Honda after a 3 months wait. To my surprise it's only 390Rs which is a very good pricing and also many other parts have been arrived including the fairings, one side fairing(the piece in which CBR250R has written) costs only 900Rs and other piece(silver) something around 200-250Rs. So for changing one side full fairing it costs only 1500-2000Rs???

In most cases, an engine made without consideration for noise abatement ... worn parts etc.

Now, the CBR 250 has an OHC engine ... Hope this answers your question

Before someone jumps up, let me clarify something.

1. Sunkenpirate has completed his run-in.
2. After completing run-in, I suggested that he should be revving hard for next 700-1000 km. This is would ensure crisper throttle response. Also the bike would be faster than those bikes who have not been opened up.
3. This will not result in any damage to engine as the red line is / rev limiter is the level above which there are chances to damage engine. Anything below that would not. (If someone wants to doubt this logic, please let me know the reason why the engine manufacturer would allow you to rev it to a level where it damages engine)
4. I had also suggested that he should return to his normal riding style after this period.

May I was too brief about my points. What I had suggested was the drive a gear or two lower than he would normally ride. Constant Redlining / unnecessary revvying was neither suggested nor implemented. Also this was AFTER completing his run-in period. Also his riding was exclusively in the city so no chance of constant high revs.

Like I had mentioned above, I had not suggested revvying till limiter all the time. I firmly believe that after you complete your recommended run-in period, you should ride your bike at higher rpm for 700-1000 km. It improves throttle response. I have personally experienced it.

I haven't looked at P220's disk pads personally yet. And I remember someone here saying that its a direct fit. Can someone confirm this?? I've BYBRE brakes on mine.

I donot keep mine on the pedal all the time & still they got worn out at 6.5k so nothing new

P220's calipers(Bybre) are same as CBR's. Hence the pads are a direct fit...Hope it helps..

I had a query, hope you guys will be able to help. I am getting my bike on the 6th of next month. I have already made the payment long back but at the time of enquiry the Sales rep at Venetian Honda refused to give extended warranty for CBR250R. He said that Honda is not offering Extended warranty of CBR250R. After reading out as many reviews as I can, I feel that taking an extended warranty would be a good thing. Has anybody taken the extended warranty on this bike.

In some other forums there is a member who has taken 3yrs extended warranty for Rs.1200/-.

I'll appreciate if you guys can help me.

OMG....
Why Radiator ? Is ur cooling efficiency affected too just for left side bend ? All Fins are in good condition though.
