a puny 150 cc cannot be compared to 220 and 250 cc .I have ridden r15 before i took decision to buy my pulsar 220 and i think r15 is not powerful enough with insufficient pickup with too small a engine to give the output similar to 220.at that time cbr was not launched so I did not take that into consideration. Now I think i should test ride cbr 250 when i am free may not be to change my ride but only for the feel of the bike.Originally posted by somen1984 View PostJO DARRGAYA...SAMJOH MARRGAYA.......>Gabbar singh in SHOLAY

An accident this morning,
I had an accident this morning, was going office on my CBR, when on a Red light less crossing, came another motorcycle from left side and went into me.
1. Left RVM is gone, duno what hit it.
2. Left fairing is loosen now.
3. A Small crack on Left side of Fairing
Attaching pics here, any suggestion for the crack, as i think this will keep growing due to gadde wadde, how to fix it or should i change it?
Btw I am safe, no harm done to me and that bloody hero honda cd100 wala also.
PS: I am tired by these peoples, driving here in UP, bloody hell, no one follow the Traffic rule, wearing helmet is sin here, and racing with other achievements, everyone drive in mid, no meaning of Lane!!! Sorry but this is my bhadas,

Take care buddy... UP is famous for these kinds of absurdity. You will find plenty. You & you only have to be careful about other's mistake. Go through Old Fox sir's article on safe riding. My CBR goes to Hibernation mode
My rear disks where making noise. I clearly felts its rubbing somewhere. Took to Sapphire Honda and found out that the disk pads are worn out. Completely!!!
Its around 6k on the odo and its worn out! Dunno how? I have a habit of always keeping my legs on the rear brake. Not sure if its because of that.
Left my bike at Sapphire, and as expected, they don't have any spares to replace it. They tried if Dazzlers disk pad is the same, but sadly it isn't. Checked with my friend who has a P220 if they have the same disk pads. Alas, no help there.
And as we know, our beloved Honda takes its own time in supplying the spares, there goes my CBR in hibernation mode.
I haven't looked at P220's disk pads personally yet. And I remember someone here saying that its a direct fit. Can someone confirm this?? I've BYBRE brakes on mine.Sudeep P Nambiar

My bike too has become kind of rough at 2K kms. By the way while I ride in stop-go traffic with sudden acceleration and braking I get an FE of 25. And that is the lowest I've got. And at the last full-tank, I got 27.69km/l riding without the fairings.Originally posted by sunkenpirate View PostI don't think it's either of the two.. Engine obviously sounds stressed at higher speeds, and is also pretty noisy above 8k, but that is to be expected from a single cylinder. Also, I get FE of about 22 km/l, but that might be due to the fact that I'm kind of rev-happy.
I'll keep an ear out for tappet noise the next time I go for a ride.
Thanks for the helpful reply.
If what you said is true then you've made me happy my friend.Originally posted by Binoy View PostFinally got the Left RVM mirror from Honda after a 3 months wait
. To my surprise it's only 390Rs which is a very good pricing and also many other parts have been arrived including the fairings, one side fairing(the piece in which CBR250R has written) costs only 900Rs
and other piece(silver) something around 200-250Rs. So for changing one side full fairing it costs only 1500-2000Rs

???
But I'm still waiting for the left fairing and the radiator.
Ride safe my friend. And take care of yourself and your bike.Originally posted by titanic4u View PostI had an accident this morning, was going office on my CBR, when on a Red light less crossing, came another motorcycle from left side and went into me.

Thanks for the information.Originally posted by icemang View PostIn most cases, an engine made without consideration for noise abatement ... worn parts etc.
I will try to answer that question too.
Now, the CBR 250 has an OHC engine ... Hope this answers your question
Originally posted by trustvishwas View PostBefore someone jumps up, let me clarify something.
1. Sunkenpirate has completed his run-in.
2. After completing run-in, I suggested that he should be revving hard for next 700-1000 km. This is would ensure crisper throttle response. Also the bike would be faster than those bikes who have not been opened up.
3. This will not result in any damage to engine as the red line is / rev limiter is the level above which there are chances to damage engine. Anything below that would not. (If someone wants to doubt this logic, please let me know the reason why the engine manufacturer would allow you to rev it to a level where it damages engine)
4. I had also suggested that he should return to his normal riding style after this period.Amen. I too definitely experience the difference. I will not claim that it makes a 250 feel like a 600cc bike, but I definitely feel an improvement without any expense (other than increased fuel costs during the 1000 km period). At such a meager cost, any improvement is welcome.Originally posted by trustvishwas View PostMay I was too brief about my points. What I had suggested was the drive a gear or two lower than he would normally ride. Constant Redlining / unnecessary revvying was neither suggested nor implemented. Also this was AFTER completing his run-in period. Also his riding was exclusively in the city so no chance of constant high revs.
Like I had mentioned above, I had not suggested revvying till limiter all the time. I firmly believe that after you complete your recommended run-in period, you should ride your bike at higher rpm for 700-1000 km. It improves throttle response. I have personally experienced it.
@Vishwas Ji- Remember I had asked you about the hard 1st to 2nd gear changes while redlining at the beginning of this ripping period. The noise while changing gears went on reducing and is almost gone now, 800 kms later. At that time, you said that it was because of the reduced viscosity of the engine oil at higher temperature, combined with the largest gear ratio difference between the 1st and 2nd gear. Both those points are still valid today. I do not understand then, why has the hard shifting given way to a smooth one (not that I'm complaining
)?

P220's calipers(Bybre) are same as CBR's. Hence the pads are a direct fit...Hope it helps..Originally posted by sudeepnbr View PostI haven't looked at P220's disk pads personally yet. And I remember someone here saying that its a direct fit. Can someone confirm this?? I've BYBRE brakes on mine.

HI
Hi guys! I have recently joined Xbhp. I have kept a regular track of this thread right since it was started. It feels nice that so many people sharing their good/bad experiences here. It help all the people like us to evaluate things & take the right decision. Guys keep up the good work.
I had a query, hope you guys will be able to help. I am getting my bike on the 6th of next month. I have already made the payment long back but at the time of enquiry the Sales rep at Venetian Honda refused to give extended warranty for CBR250R. He said that Honda is not offering Extended warranty of CBR250R. After reading out as many reviews as I can, I feel that taking an extended warranty would be a good thing. Has anybody taken the extended warranty on this bike.
In some other forums there is a member who has taken 3yrs extended warranty for Rs.1200/-.
I'll appreciate if you guys can help me.
Thanks in advance.

Why Radiator ? Is ur cooling efficiency affected too just for left side bend ? All Fins are in good condition though.Originally posted by dreamsellerBut I'm still waiting for the left fairing and the radiator.Last edited by Neel08; 09-27-2011, 09:34 PM.

Yes they surely are, and also it's not leaking coolant as of now. But, to be on the safer side, I don't want to take a chance. You did see the radiator right? It's pathetically bent to one side.Originally posted by Neel08 View PostOMG....
