Replaced clutch cable at 32k kms. It was hanging on one thread. How does it fare vs other bikes like the Duke 200/ R15?

Replaced fuel filter too. Cost ₹140, and was filled with crud.

Front fork oil seal went bust - cost ~₹306 including the fork oil. The inner tube of the fork costs 6.5k as on 2/12/16.

A quick question! Can we expect any upgrade for CBR 250R from HMSI in Auto expo 2017. Is it sane to invest in CBR 250R now? In future would I face problem in getting spare parts? If it's upgraded near future.
Please help me to clear up my toughts, thank in advance.

As far as I know, the CBR 250 spares will be available even after the CBR gets upgraded. As of now, certain spares have a week or two waiting period in rural areas. I had to wait a month before I could get hold of a fuel filter. Good thing it has a 48k kms replacement interval. Spark plug has another ridiculous 48k change interval. Air filter, 18k. City asc will have better stocks.

CBR250 being upgraded is nice joke. They have no incentive to bring the 300r here, where the KTMs rule the 2L category. Trust me, I've been waiting 2 years for an upgrade, and haven't seen one yet. Apparently Honda is so annoyed by rumors and nagging of an upgrade that one top guy actually said " No questions on CBR" to an auto journo. No new 250, no new 150, and no new 250rr too.

Buy the CBR 250 only if you plan to keep the bike for 5-10 years. Otherwise it doesn't make sense. This bike is so boring I can't even hear the engine at 4000 rpm on the highway. Nobody hears you coming or notices when you pass by on the stock bike, unlike the Royal Elephants.

You've hit the nail right in the head. Nobody hears you, forget the RE sound stations and what not, you've defined the way a Honda is hated universally, because it's smooth, silent and does the job better than others at the end.

          Cheers!

          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Thank you bro, for clarification! This bike will be a long term investment for me, which forcing myself to gather more opinions and reviews before buying it. Don't want to regret later! CBR is best tourer without second thoughts. Yet some believe sooner a upgrade in Auto expo. That's where I'm little confused, and getting my clarification here.

Guys, I wish to add auxiliary led spot lights. So to lower the load on the battery I bought some amber leds for indicators. The problem is that they blink fast. So what flasher should I add to rectify the issue? Also has anyone done this mod?

10w Cree spot beams are what I had chosen to add later. Suggestions are welcome.

Just curious about other brands and other grades.
I Tried different grades of oil and brands and came back to Throttle. Cuz the temperature balance with the Honda throttle FS oil is perfect for Indian conditions. This is a personal opinion though. And the prob with the throttle oil is, it wears out pretty much around 4k kms. I ride 80-20 highway-city ratio.

I too have LED, rizoma avio lookalike for indicator. They do blink fast but I am not too bothered about it.

Actually what you need is a resistor which makes these LED blink slowly just like the normal indicators.

If it's under warranty replace it. Else claim from insurance. Else there is a DIY. But u gotta take of the speedo console unit and dismantle the board to solder leds. Should be extremely careful cuz the board is the heart of the ecu. Search the forum/youtube regarding the DIY.

I didnt change the indicators. I just changed the bulbs to LEDs. Have to figure a way out to slow them. I kinda bother when they blink so fast. Also they are not bright. The bulb reflects light through reflector but these LEDs face away from reflectors.

Need to find a solution for this. Indicator bulbs suck around 20w of power. Not sure how much exactly.

I was wondering if the battery is inadequate for the load, but it still flickers when I upgraded to a 9 ah Amaron, but to a slightly lesser degree.

Did the 9Ah battery fit in the battery bay perfectly? Can u please share the model no.

The instrument console circuit board is different from the ecu circuit board and not necessarily the 'heart' of the ecu. As with any electronics repairing, one should know what one is doing apart from being good at soldering.
As for the indicators, you will need to install a load resistance (https://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...267113079.html) to slow down the flashes or plonk in a led flasher unit in place of the stock one. How many pins does the stock flasher have ? you could maybe try with the flasher from a ktm duke (comes as a two pin unit).

No. The battery holder had to be removed, the CBR's clamp holes had to be made larger, and I inserted a thermocol piece in-between the battery and the frame to minimise vibration. Go for 7 amp, it's a perfect fit, I've heard.

I upgraded to a 9 ah just to test a theory of mine - either the console LEDs are cheap ones with low life, else the battery/ alternator cannot provide enough current to the headlight and indicators, and thus, the LED fails early. My bike is 4 years old now, let's see how this goes.

One set of fork seal comes for Rs. 306; 612 for both forks. Honda fork oil I recently bought was around 126 Rs for 350 ml (One bottle) if I remember correctly.

I did put 2 LED Cree (HJG - some chinese item) on last Sunday considering my night ride while returning from office. It suffices the purpose as of now. Let's see how long it goes.

                          Detail:
                          HJG LED CREE
                          18 watts each
                          12V
                          3000 lumen
30000 hours of life (That's what written on box)

I bought it (a pair) from a local electrician for 1400 INR.

Can you post some pictures with stock headlight(HL) alone, CREE alone and HL + CREE?

This will help more in getting the actual difference, considering the camera settings will sometimes increase or decrease the effects of these lights. And does this CREE gives yellow light?

Mine does the same thing. Looks like they haven't rectified the issue in the 2016 model too. The console light flickers when headlight + indicators are used. The pilot lamps flicker too, if the indicator is on.
Guys is this the problem with all CBRs? I thought its a common issue so didn't report it to svc. My bike is just 7 months old.
