  • Washed, polished and waxed my bike today with Amway Car wash, Mothers PowerPolish and PowerWax. Took around 2.5 hours but gave the bike a brilliant shoowroom type shine!

      1. What's your trip meter reading when the blinker comes ON on the LED?
      2. After the blinker is ON, how many Kms do you ride?
      3. When you refuel, do you refuel to brim or to the recommended level? And I hope this is where you say you refuel for 11.x lts right?
      4. But, how do you know the left over fuel is 2.55 lts? Why couldn't it be 1.55 lts? How did you measure it?

1+2. Dont have the exact figure now but it was 350+ trip meter reading when I refueled again. I am currently monitoring the info, my trip meter reads 175Kms with 3bars on for the fuel gauge, i'll get the exact info this time on when the indicator starts blinking.
3.I always fill fuel up till the brim.
      4. Well if you read what I wrote carefully, I assumed the tank capacity to be 14Lts. So if I fill 11.45Lts, 14-11.45=2.55. But looks like Mr Honda Said the tank Capacity is 13Lts( i suppose its till the recommended level).

Come now!!! Let me terrify you

On a FI engine, the fuel pump stays submerged in the fuel; the pump actually pulls the fuel & sends to cylinder via injector; now when there's no fuel, the pump simply keeps pulling & pulling & there's a lot of air in addition to fuel that is supplied to the cylinder & over a period of time, the pump gets hotter & leads to flames or damages the injector or both.

If this info is true, then its very scary indeed!!

On a carb'd engine, this doesn't happen as there's no push or pull mechanism & things work out of vaccum.

I knew I'll be getting questions like "what are you requirements? etc" My question is very basic, dont know how to put it but here goes. Which bike will you buy if you had a budget of 1.6 lacs and want a bike which is sporty looking and can do 120 - 150 without much efforts.
My honest opinion, for a guy of your built, you should get the CBR 250 simply because its a more powerful bike and will treat you better than the R15
However if you can afford compromise on power, then R15 (in my opinion and am sure many others) handles better in traffic conditions as its more flickable. Am sure with the new look and meatier rubber, it certainly will look brilliant and feel more stable.
I also agree that the build quality of the R15 is better than CBR250R, also has better paint quality. However please note this is my personal opinion and others are bound to have their own.
When I switch from my 250R to my room-mates R15, i feel deficiency in power and throttle response, however it certainly is more flickable and more fun to ride especially inside the city. This experience is personal and will certainly have a lot to do with my weight also( Lil more than half of yours and I am 5'9 in height)

If you mean to the top of the tank, then, again its playing with the fuel pump; just fill to the recommended level mentioned in the owner's manual. Anyway, it cannot be in litres!!!

Your assumption is incorrect; right from day 1 xBhp has very clear info that C250R's tank capacity is 13 lts or 3.4 gallons; this is the same info present on C250R's owner's manual.

What do you mean playing with the fuel pump?? And also it canno be in litres?? I believe filling up to the brim is the best way of calculating milage, hence I always follow that.

My assumption is incorrect, however the logic is correct. I dont understand why you dont understand my simple logic of explanation.
Besides, the capacity of the fuel tank is actually always bigger than specified by the manufacturer(Always holds more that specified by manufacturer). Holds true with Unicorn, R15, P220. And these are not assumptions, they are practically tested by me and my close Rider friends.

            • rmchhetri That 1 litre extra you are saying could be the unusable fuel capacity which Honda may not have printed or disclosed in the manual.

So it could be possible that the tank has a capacity of 13 litres (usable) and 1 litre unusable which perhaps is used to keep the FI immersed in fuel all the time.

PS: I only make assumptions as I do not have concrete knowledge of the same.

                  Vishwas Sir,

Where do I get these vinyl strips in Pune ? Not much aware of the Pune markets, though staying here for sometime now.. Please guide me..

BTW, any idea about the STOMP grips ? read about these on some online forums recently. where can I get these if possible ?

I got the tank pad fixed on my GT650R this weekend from DSG planet as in hardly 2-3 rides so far (200KM total), I could see the marks on the tank.. so want to put some protection on the sides as well ASAP where the knees are touching.. yet to get the knee guards, so perhaps once I wear knee guards, it will be even worse without any paint protection for the side of the tank..

                  TIA

                  • No advance booking, no waiting,Got my CBR 3 days back

I went to book R15 on 8th SEP, I paid the 10k advance and on my way back I saw this baby in display at honda showroom, when I went in and asked if i could take this baby home now, to my surprise they said yes

Problem was it wasn't the ABS version, when asked for the ABS version, they said they had one inside but it was a display vehicle and was registered on showrooms name and it was 180km old.

I was ready to take it as the other showrooms i called a few days back said that the waiting time was 3 months.

I was keen on bringing her home the same day, but they wouldn't accept cheque or card, I wasn't having enough cash+cards on me at that time. I told them that I would come back with money tomorrow and came back home (60km away).

Next day i started to the showroom, on the way to bus station I stopped at the honda showroom and inquired about the CBR, he called his other branch and told that there was a black ABS and red standard version available.

I wanted the red babe, when i asked him if they could change the fairing and the tank like they do on small bikes, he said it wasn't possible.

So.. I went continued my journey to the yesterdays showroom,

On the way i thought if its available in small towns, it should be available in the nearby city which was 160km away. Traveling 160km is better than getting a used bike.

So I pulled up the number of the vijwayawada (thanks to my S2, without her all this wouldn't have been possible) showroom and luckily a brand new one was available there, and the price(191k) was 10k less than the showroom i was going. I told the showroom guy I was coming to pick the bike today.

I got down the bus, came back to our town, and started the journey to vij.

then we thought why travel that long, it might be available in the nearby showrooms, then we called few other showrooms, and the one that was 120km had the red abs available.

This is where I finally got the bike from , she is awesome, both city riding and highway riding are cool.

btw, this showroom had 6 red CBR's readily available. 2 ABS 4 standard.

They are keeping bikes with small scratches aside, even if its the only one and a small scratch.

My bike was in perfect shape, no scratches, paint job was too good.

Bike handles better than apache in traffic

My only complaint is, the black plastic, the aluminum at the sides, footpegs, break and gear pedals quality could have been better.

Apache had better looking foot pegs, gear and break pedals.

I find that the break pedal is too close to the body, is it a problem with my bike or am i doing something wrong?

I have to place my foot at acute angle to the foot peg, its not comfortable

PS: Usually dealers give false promises on delivery dates, this time it was the other way. promised 3 dealers in two days that I would take the bike :P

I would rather say looking at the number of bikes on the road. It was just hype created by Honda that they had thousands of bookings. Now since they have got rid of the initial bookings the bikes are easily available at the dealership's. This is rather good news since the parts shortage will also be taken care of now.

Dude, the basic spare-parts are not available and you're talking about "spare" rear huggers!!
