Finally i am back to thread after a long long time. No riding experience updates as havent been able to ride the CBR last two weeks, but yes, the parts seem to have reached the SVC. The SVC incharge called me up informing that the cone sets and shims have arrived and i can take my bike there

@aargee: sorry Ji, i missed your PM and was away. Any plans on returning through Mumbai? Also can you post a pic of the cramster colt loaded on the CBR. (ignore if you have already posted it elsewhere. I am yet to explore other threads.)

@chicmagnet: did you visit vihaan honda?

Excellent that spare parts are arriving. I visited the Kandivali one (Om Sai Honda). They have recently shifted to a new place and have a separate CBR bay as well. They were quick to get my problem rectified. Though they only loosened the front screw in between the handle bars. Will probably take it again there to get my forks corrected as I feel the problem is still there though much lesser now . I asked about shims and they said my shims don't need replacement.

How Do I know if I need it replaced?

Bah! I lost all my confidence in the tyre yesterday. First was before the Dadar bridge which was wet with some other stuff (decaying vegetables I think) and the bike didn't go in a straight line (kept fish tailing) for over 50 meters. Was a harrowing experience that. Then later in the evening, it had started to rain as well and I had ridden 12 kms before it did. So got down, wore my windcheater and got up again and lo behold! more skidding . All this on a straight line which was scary so I didn't even try to take a corner without trying to keep my bike straight.
It was alright after that but that was scary enough for me to ride at speeds below 40 kmph on empty highways
Both instances, the tyre wasn't really cold for it to skid but it did and all of a sudden all my confidence in the tyre has gone to the dogs!

Anyways, about the mileage thingy. So like last time i said, my bike should have run 282.2 kms at a mileage of 30kmpl since I had filled 9.42 ltrs. Now the blinking has started and I think I have done around 270 kms and it has been blinking for 15 kms. Will drive till 300 kms and see how much petrol the bike will take.

                  • hi..not much of riding these days because of unexpected showers in chennai almost daily and hectic schedules.took my bike last week to didar t nagar, met mr rajasekar told him about the wobbles and he promptly test drove the vehicle and told he ll just loosen the fork thats tight .he loosened the fork and asked me to drive and i found the steering is little easy to manuvre now.could not judge the wobble.thanked him for his work and told him that i ll drive some kms and ll come back if i had issues.now i feel the wobbles are still present but reasonably reduced.so have to take to him once more i suppose .and one more NOW I FEEL PAIN IN MY LEFT WRIST ALONE AFTER SOME MINUTES OF DRIVING ,ESPECIALLY BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC THE PAIN INCREASES TILL LEFT SHOULDER. i drove my rx too to know whether i get pain and nope absolutely no pain.anybody experiencing similiar pain?????

and off topic @aargee i was told by tech at didar that one cbr person is planning to mumbai in this machine...ohhhh is that you then?????

It'll take some time to get used to the driving position of the CBR or you can just start going to a gym and strengthen your shoulder and arms.

                        • Best ASC in Bangalore

                          Hi All,

Done with my 1K mark and would be going for 1st service over the weekend.
So would like to know about the quality of service done by various ASCs in bangalore. I have taken the bike from Haiku honda (domlur) and got my oil filter/ oil changed at 230 Kms from their. Although the guy knows me very well (some HMSI connections ) but still i would like to go for the ASC who is good with bike.I would like to get teh bike serviced in front of me. Also haiku has a very small service station and currently does not have oil filters .
                          Please advise.
Also do i need to check for something special during the first service.
Anyone has any idea about pain protection films? 3M does not have anything and scotchguard is also unavailable in india. Any idea where in JC Road, bangalore can i find the vinyl strips?

Also one of my relative is coming from Japan next week so any advise what accessory etc i should get from there?

                          Thanks in advance.
                          Piyush
