the engine starts lugging at rpms lower than 3k-3.5k and the jerks u get on cbr are far more prominent than on any other bike ive driven....i feel the highest efficiency you get is while not keeping it too low or too high i.e. between 4-7k. And on mangalore roads i hardly find the need to shift to 4th at peak hours.Originally posted by Nithesh View Post

Per the manual, there's a inner groove that you see when the tank is opened, this is called level plate. Do not fill over the level plate. Just a few ml above is fine, but not more than that.Originally posted by Rahul Rods Tewathia View Postso can anyone confirm that which method you all are using..
That's an incorrect question, esp for C250R; say that, what RPM's do you ride. Reason being that, one has to keep varying the gear & in my experience I found that lugging the engine consumes more fuel as much as revving it. Infact, lugging is even bad for engine than rev. So NEVER lug the engine. Now to answer, ride between 4-5K RPM in the city no matter which gear to yield max FE.Originally posted by Nithesh View PostWhat gears do you people ride on at most times? Lower or Higher?
Explained above to RahulOriginally posted by kimshine View PostEVEN i would like to know
HOW to Calculate it
Its quite true that the max FE is obtained only at top gear. However, if ridden properly (as explained to you above) in the specific RPM's, the lowEST FE can be avoided to lowER.Originally posted by Nithesh View Postthe lower the gear the lower the F.E?
and most reviews said the bike can do low 40's in top gear? Is that true or does the bike start to jerk?
If its true, then, its really WOW; Sudeep, needless to say, show my review (hope you're following my T'Log on Fourteen days of my vacation thread) & tell them I'm your friendOriginally posted by sudeepnbr View PostSo today evening...arrange track days also soon.

Track days is something I'm really looking forward to, especially with the kind of grip I'm getting with the rear tire
Then its time to shift down the gear, unless you're looking forward for some serious engine damages!!!Originally posted by doc_x View Postthe engine starts lugging at rpms lower than 3k-3.5k and the jerks u get on cbr are far more prominent than on any other bike ive driven
+1; at 7K, the FE really drops unless its top gear; I'd rather say 5K RPM for 6th gear & below for best FE.Originally posted by doc_x View Posti feel the highest efficiency you get is while not keeping it too low or too high i.e. between 4-7kSkill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

My advice - Don't do it!!! You'll get used to it as you keep riding; try some long hauls like 200-300 Kms on a single day & then you'll see the pains getting away. Take my word!!!Originally posted by sumantg View PostI am geeting pain in left elbow and wrist. I am looking for clip-on risers atelast 3 inches more than what i have right now
If you're still adamant, there's a guy who's done this mod & has posted in this thread. Go back several pages & you can find them.
Learn how to sit on a sports bike & just keep riding & you'll see the pain fading. Do not alter the engineering!!!Originally posted by sumantg View PostPlease help me and cure my elbow pain

In fact I have gone through some YouTube videos and PDF documents on how to ride on sports bike and sitting posture. They recommend to bend both hands (not stretched completely) while riding.
Can I increase the height of seat? For example, putting some extra cushion on the seat. This way it lift my body little bit height and can reach handle bars comfortably.Last edited by sumantg; 09-16-2011, 05:09 PM.

See, basically you need to get used to it; I kept saying from the beginning - take the 3 weeks test & then you're all fine. I've done more than 1000 Km on a single day not once, but thrice. I'd be fooling myself if I said there weren't any pain. Ofcourse there's pain, but, all it takes is a hot shower & the pain is gone. No balm, no medicine, absolutely nothing.Originally posted by sunkenpirate View Post@argee- Have you had any pains due to seating posture?
Second is the posture in which one sits; may be PM or google/youtube the seating posture on C250R & that will eliminate the wrist pains certainly for 50 Kms, but not definitely in the 200+ Kms range.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Hi everyone, I do not own a CBR and have few small queries regarding it.
If all goes well then the ABS version will be my younger brothers first bike. He doesn't know riding yet. I want to know how difficult or easy is it for a newbie rider?
Also how comfortable is it for someone who is 6' 1" tall? Of course you have to be that tall to answer
I hope there are a few tallies here.
I would also just like to know how has been the experience of owning this bike for a few months. The ride experience, service and performance in general.Hero Honda Karizma ZMR

Sunkenpirate something with your posture for sure. I too had a 4000km ride on my CBR of late and I did cover as much as 800km on a single day. Only pain I used to have at the end of the day was behind my neck but again not severe or something, next day I used to be fit for riding again. Yeah PIA(pain in A**) used to be there after about every 1- 1 1/2 hrs but only remedy for that is regular breaks, though I have added some addl foam to my seat already.Originally posted by sunkenpirate View PostMy neck and tricep muscles get very sore in just 40-50 km of riding. Then I have to take a break, do some neck exercises and get going again. It starts to get irritating real fast. @argee- Have you had any pains due to seating posture?
On CBR I suggest you must keep your hand bend while holding the grip(Very IMP) and keep changing your position often and DO NOT put body weight on your wrists for a PAIN FREE ride.Last edited by techfreak; 09-16-2011, 11:52 PM.Once a Biker ....Always a BIKER

In starting there were some blah blah about this Bike(even i was unhappy in starting, but if there is problem then there is solution and now I am a happy man)... As we are riding more and more, falling in love with this bike!!Originally posted by Sarath_ View PostHi everyone, I do not own a CBR and have few small queries regarding it.

This is my first bike, and now i feel to be proud that i choose this bike!
Can feel the strength, power and control of the bike. When I ride on the road, it's me here, there and ahead, & yet, still in control!!
Can't tell you about the "tall factor" but bike is awesome man!!!! but certainly better than R15, CBR looks much more bigger and strength-full.Originally posted by Sarath_ View PostAlso how comfortable is it for someone who is 6' 1" tall? Of course you have to be that tall to answer

I am around 6' and having no issues with the bike what so ever. If this is his first bike and he wants to learn how to ride bike then i would suggest him to practice on a ligter bike and then move to CBR. Over all the bike is wonderful to own.Originally posted by Sarath_ View PostHi everyone, I do not own a CBR and have few small queries regarding it.
