I think i know the answer. There are about 5 CBR's at the warehouse here with no owner to claim them and 3 standard CBR's too
I guess more people who booked the ABS went ahead for the standard version thanks to the ABS being delivered pretty late back then
Now all they have is more ABS bikes and thus there was no need to keep bookings open?

Probably they know it now after taking the washing lessons on my bike
I'm yet to get my fins fixed, was asked to come today but couldn't find the time...they are asking me to leave the bike for a day at the service centre

      • My sprockets & chain worn out after the ride to RJ; there's also a rubber on the swing arm that awaits for replacement + planning to change all the rubber joints on the fairing irrespective of its conditions - I hate vibes!!!

Since the parts are yet to come, I'm delaying my visit to ASC on the account of my C250R donated for experiments & exhibition.

        • Tyres

GUYS i need help for my bike TYRES ,,,

REAR tyre got punctured (i know its tubeless) because of a piece of sharp solid Metal ,,,, it was 3 inches thick and almost 4 inches wide and long

so somehow i got the tyre puncture fixed ,,but even after applying those 4-5 puncture strips ,,, i have lost faith on tyre ,,

first i took it to 4-5 mechanics they were not able to fix it ,,, but 1 mechanic installed 4-5 strips and got it working ,,,, but the bike handling has changed

rear Tyre Skids and slips alot
OR IS IT MY MIND ONLY

ASked ASC ,as we all know ,,there is no warranty if tyre gets a Cut

and the rear tyre costs rs5500 ,,,,

          What to do now
tyre is working FINE ,,but some time it skids ,, now i am riding in fear and always afraid of cornering and speeding

what should i do ,,, change it to any other tyre Company if yes ,,at what cost ??????????????????????????????

should i put tube in tyre ???? how would it affect handling and performance ??? and where would i get it ???

Or any other way to repair it

          • ^^^ If you're riding within city limits, nothing to worry; its all in the mind the rear isn't as gripping as it should look; notice that after the tires are well warmed up & during the mid day, the grip increases. But if you loose air gradually, then its time to replace.

That is a bad news but puncture issue is something that goes beyond our grip. Safety factors cannot really be cornered by money figures. Do not go for the stock tyres again. Instead go for Pirelli tyre with same spec 140-17-70 as the stock one. Do not for IRC tyres as they have a bad longevity. Do no delay in replacing the tyre. Cut off the idea of putting a tube, they might affect performance but the issue would be much painful during puncture scene.

I just contacted to "STUDDS ACCESSORIES LIMITED" for inquiry, and got the information that the cost is around 1700 buks per Box, I think it's far cheaper from other bags....
And the brand is Givi, anyone have experienced with this brand, could pour more light on it please?
One of the Givi boxes is available at AH Helmets in Mumbai. If i am not mistaken, he has the E30T (Available on the website) and told me 2700 with fitting on the CBR. Kinda expensive I think!

                  • Done with First service @1342 || back pain

                    Hi All,

Today i got the first service done for my bike.

                    Highlights:
                    1. bike is smooth again.
                    2. they adjusted the clutch and the 'Khad' noise that used to come between 1st and 2nd gears is gone. Someone was asking about this khad noise few pages back, please go to your ASC and ask them to adjust clutch and the noise will reduce/ vanish.
                    3. On my shouting again and again they devised a new way to wash CBR by sticking a cardboard piece on the radiator to avoid fins getting bent.
                    4. oil and oil filter were changed.

                    Low point:
                    1. the bike still wobbles between 4-5K rpm in any gear (specially when i leave the accelerator)
                    2. They were not having Motul chain lube and he cleaned the chain in just 2 mins and i had to clean again using diesel.
                    3. There was some gap in fairing that they were not able to fix.
                    4. They were not ready to service my bike in front of me .

Moral of the story: if you love your CBR and are staying in Bangalore Please Stay away from Haiku Honda. There mechanic is not as expert as other ASC (this is my guess as per description of other ASC in threads).
I asked him that if i have to change my headlight bulb, would i have to remove fairing and he said yes. I checked and there seem to be enough space between fairing and headlight to facilitate the change. Also there is no mention of removing the fairing in the owners manual for changing bulb. Can someone please enlighten about the procedure to change the bulb.

I am also suffering from back pain (somewhere between shoulder and neck) from last sunday. I went to mysore and didnt take even a single break on route. Was loving the bike and having fun with her. After 100+ kms i tried bending my left arm to realize that i have soreness in arms and back. Since then i could not get rid of the pain. I did not had any permanent pains before this trip. I travelled close to 400Kms within 36 hours, so i dont know how much more conditioning is required. On the contrary before this incident at times i did feel uneasiness during bangalore traffic but the jams ensured they go away at each long pause (because i would sit straight while waiting for the light to turn green). So its correct that chaging position keeps the pain in control but i hope there is some better way to fix it for ever.

                    Thanks in advance

                    Regards
                    Piyush

                    • My bike as of today is as below. Tuesday I'll be going to the ASC to get the estimate of the price of the parts that are getting changed, i.e., the left fairing, mudguard and the bent radiator. Let's see when they arrive.

I know. The works manager gave me a rough estimate of about 22k, excluding consumables like coolant, bolts, etc.
It's been 15 days since the Indica guy hit my steed and I'm still helplessly waiting for her to get up and running.

You can always go for the lone rear tyre, many ppl do so. There is nothing bad in it. Moreover, during the movement, no one can make out the thread patterns in the apt manner. The combo from Pirelli would cost somewhere between 7.5-8k. Regarding dealers in Del, please visit tyre thread to hook on some helpful ids. I do not belong to Del. And yes, please be careful from fake ones? Now you would ask how to trace the spurious ones out from the genuine? Well, get it from an exclusive dealer. Good luck man.
