    Hi all,

Has anybody installed any security system on their cbr? I'm hunting for a security system or a lock which doesn't void my warranty. Can anybody help?

    Thanks

Normal wear and tear can not be classified as engine problem.

Please do not propagate false information and in case i am incorrect please provide the names of members who are facing engine problems.

      I would agree wholeheartedly.

My CeeBee has done 2100 kms. The run in period included a 900 kms drive from Pune to Rajkot. I drive sensibly - no hard revving, correct clutch and declutch action, no hard braking unless abso inevitable.

My bike is completely problem-free. No issues about the engine, suspension, bodywork, transmission including chain, electrics, hydraulics, mechanicals. All work perfectly well.

One-off issues are by definition, one-off. May I ask members who have faced such issues to understand that they may have been the innocent recepients of escapees from the Six Sigma bell curve.

I will be visiting my local City Honda this week, will call up Sapphire as well...

One more query, is it mandatory that you can get your bike serviced only from your dealer or can we drive the bike into any Service Centre and they don't mind?
I can confirm that the point of sale dealer need not be the point of service ASC. I bought mine in Pune (Rohan Honda) and had the first free service in Rajkot (Dharti Honda)

        • Thanks again for your inputs friends..

Took a test ride from City Honda, Kalyan Nagar today. It was an ABS machine..

          My observations:

          - I could never feel the weight of the bike. Had no trouble taking U-turns, even with a pillion. Hats off to Honda on this aspect..
          - Gear shift was very smooth and had no troubles with false neutrals (maybe my RTR experience helped me here)
          - Felt the pull everywhere on all gears (1-4). Was riding amidst traffic, so could not push a lot.
          - ABS does it job. Chose some sandy patches to hard brake from 60Kmph, no issues at all and the vehicle stopped where I expected it to
          - The shocks are good

          - Heavy engine knocking @ 1500rpm. Tested this on different gears and it is the same. Asked the service guy and he said, 'Sir, you are not supposed to ride in such low RPM'..
          - Had a hard time reaching the brake lever and service guy confirmed that is non-adjustable
          - Don't know why, but I really missed the grunt of my RTR

Not to add stuff like flimsy visor, poor weld finish.etc., can see a lot of discussion in those areas already

Verdict: Almost decided to join the CBR owners group

            • embossed number plates

              Hi,

Could you please advise on how to get the embossed number plates in Bangalore? Do they do it on the plates that come with the bike or we need to go to a shop that does it and they take down the dimensions and create a new one?

              Thanks

By the way this thread is going, I don't feel like sharing a lot of things; anyway, since you picked up my name, I thought I'll drop a word of supporting hand to you!!!

I touched 145 this morning & felt the bike could do more; the only difference being 10W30 FS from HMSI. This is after 11045+ Kms on odo!!!

nice to hear that. Me waiting for my third service now and a bout of FS oil to be put inside . My bike easily goes to 130 and just stop at that on certain stretches..probably mineral oil will help.

BTW, do the service centre guys clean the oil filter everytime they change the engine oil?

they replace it. If they dont have stock, they'll run the oil in opposite direction..(few mls) and will put back the same oil filter.

                        Dear Piyush

I didn't meant to hurt any CBR owners or honda lovers,In fact I am also planing to buy CBR with in 2months and each and every moment with my unicorn I am enjoying by its quality and reliability ,I was little bit worried about the (-) comments going around this thread. We don't know what honda is planning to safe guard its premium sports segment market in India. Don't know why people are worried about spare parts availability. This is too early to worry about the parts availability. Its been only 4-5 months since the bike officially launched here. There may be a total 150-200 components (including fasteners) in CBR, obliviously it will take some time to make those parts separate and keep it ready stock in SVC spare stores. As per my talk with one of the SVC here in Bangalore all CBR spares will be available with in 1 month(I was able to see the part list catalog for CBR in SVC).I never talk against honda products. Sorry to all CBR owners... Hoping that I can also be a part of CBR owners thread shortly...

all the CBR spare parts are available at our asc here in bareilly. the engine oil,oil filter, exhaust shield, fairings, con set, alloy wheels, chain, chain sprockets, gear levers, clutch levers, disk pads....whatever part one wants is availble here..so i think honda has resolved the problems of spare parts. The honda showroom people even have additional accessories from honda including their honda cbr jackets, pants, gloves although they are quite expensive than similar other products.

Too earlya???? Who decides its too early or late? Do I buy a bike to ride on the road or park in the garage? And who's to say I've my limits on daily odo clicks? If at all any, then why should I even buy a bike? FYI - HMSI has a long history of making people wait for spares, not only with C250R, right from their decade old Activa!!! I've waited for about a week to replace the exhaust of my Activa & that was in 2011. And you're talking about 4-5 months old!!!

If we were to wait for a week for parts, then its fine, understandable & probably acceptable. In my case, they took more than 40 days to ship the sprockets & when I called up ROLON they sent it in a week's time & remember ROLON is OE supplier for HMSI. So who's the culprit here?

                            • Honda have long pending issue of spare parts with sccoters only. Even now Activa have 30 - 45 days waiting period whereas CBR have no waiting period as on now.

Basically major parts of CBR spares are imported from Thailand and due to extreme flood situation in Thailand it has affected india.

Not only Honda Wings are suffering but HONDA four wheelers are also suffering a lot. Jazz & Brio has a long waiting "Q".

Thats the truth of Honda India.

If we ask ourself how come Activa have waiting period but not CBR.
Answer : Activa have more demand then CBR. Activa is ridden by PAPA / MAMMA / BHAIYA / BHABHI / CHUNU / MUNU / DADA / DADI .......... list never ends and demand never ends. ( Its all purpose Uni-Sex two wheeler of INDIA )
While coming down to CBR its just bunch of few thosand Bike Lovers who go for Perimum Bikes. ( Just like Us )

But surely xBHP is nor meant for those ppl .... but for us ....

Its entirely different in many parts of the country as here many basic parts are not available. My bike fell down from standstill and the right mirror broke away and now this happened for the second time the mirror is out of stock i also need a front brake lever.

I am fed up with the fact that in spite talking to the company customer care i haven't been attended since more than 3 months. The showroom does not have parts and the manufacturer does not bother to send them even on specific order which should be sent through courier immediately.
Even Honda service sucks, I am actually more happy with TVS and Bajaj service.
Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.
