  • Exhaust escapes

Today, I was adjusting the free play on my throttle. I was standing on the rear brake lever side of the bike and my foot was below the lever. I felt some thrust escaping from the exhaust through a small hole. Do everyone experience this
Leave way and then accelarate ... then overtake ....

    • exhaust leakage

the exhaust pipe and the the muffler pipe is a push fit and is secured by a band clamp....check the same for required tightness or the carbon gasket used for sealing at the same spot must have got damaged.

AFAIK, it's the drain hole for water which might get inside the exhaust especially while raining.

        • As per the article : Honda CBR250R 2012 edition sportsbike coming this month - CBR1000R and CBR Fireblade in talks | Rush Lane

The new Color scheme should be 1500 bucks over the regular.
Saphire guys gave me an invoice quoting 171076, which is Rs.2318 over the current price.
I understand that there will small differences in road tax, registration and insurance cost (Since they are calculated off the base price). But I think they have over-charged me. (May be they will do the correction. I need to Apply for the loan, so correcting the amount will be a bloody pain once approval comes through).

Unfortunately these guys are closed today. Will follow up with them tomorrow.

And lastly the good news is that Tri-Colour CBR should hit the showrooms by end of Feb (Which means, in about a week ).

Now that rattle noise has gone after refitting the visor (front acreen)? was anything done apart from this?

Can you be a little more specific as to which part they actually had to refit?
Was it the visor alone or the whole front body cowl?

For the one's who had reported paint peeling off the engine cover a couple of months ago, how did the ASC fix it for you?
Did they have to remove the whole engine off the frame for it or was it just a touchup?

btw a few pics i took last weekend on a small trip to Puttur.

Thats really a good news. Since AutoExpo I was waiting for this colour-tone. I have just applied for loan yesterday which means by the time I get the amount, the new colour will be on display. Then I can decide.

                      • next month i will be booking my CBR, so i went to rohan honda showroom in dapodi pune- as you guys suggested, i found them good enough. then went to their service center to see the CBR servicing bay, it was nice. unfortunately, couldn't meet their CBR mechanic as he was out somewhere. anyway, so i enquired - "do you have oil filter". answer = "no saar".

guys i wanna ask, this spare parts shortage is still a problem? i thought honda might have solved it by now. so how are you guys managing.??
i m planning to sell off my current bike, so then CBR will be my only bike, and i don't want it to be grounded for weeks for spare parts.

Not much on regular consumables...atleast here in Chennai. It depends on the dealer though as not to increase their inventories with CBR.

I don't think you'll get it grounded...atleast upto 18K kms. Until then all you need will be air & oil filter, brake pads, cables, sprocks & chain slider (probably) & shims. Anticipate these things & ask your dealer to order it in advance (not too early though).

                            • Cbr spares

Shortage of spares for CBR to be honest is still a problem but at least oil filters were readily available at Rohan honda ... in fact got my bike serviced from them on 11th dec & had never any issues, only thing i noticed later was the toothed wheel for front ABS sensor had pitting marks on it ...might have happened during brake bleeding was immediately brought to their notice and was replaced under warranty, but had to wait for 40days to get the same...last week checked with them for air filter(just to keep it as a spare).......was not available .......in my opinion its a great bike with some niggling issues which i have already posted in the thread, but with a akrapovic slip-on she is on a song on highways.
