Why don't you call him? His no. is right thereOriginally posted by princesirohi View PostBuddy we would like to know more about ur accident, its pretty surprising, that an ABS equipped bike is not able to brake as quickly as a truck. Please tell us more about ur accident.

Jokes apart, there is more to motorcycling than just the motorcycle.Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

having abs does not mean that the bike will be crash proof.. in his case, the truck has a much higher grip from 4 wheels, has higher weight to aid traction, braked first, then the rider deduced that he was gonna hit it and add the reaction time typically of the order of 1 sec before he even starts to brake...Originally posted by princesirohi View PostBuddy we would like to know more about ur accident, its pretty surprising, that an ABS equipped bike is not able to brake as quickly as a truck. its not that abs will make you stop in the claimed distance whatsoever. it depends on the speed from which the bike is stopping, it depends how the tyre condition. it depends on how hard the rider braked... etc..
however having said that its after all electronics.. it could have also malfunctioned!Suffering from Parked Motorcycle Syndrome

^^ and you are forgetting the inertia and momentum the truck carries . . . . well, if a truck and a modern day bike is travelling side by side at same speed on same road, and bike starts braking even 1 sec late, still bike should be able to come to a stop much before the truck, even without the help of any ABS.
this is my opinion.Last edited by princesirohi; 02-26-2012, 01:04 AM.

It was there around 15-16 days, 2-3 parts are still due.Originally posted by princesirohi View Postso the cost was 37,700 rupees. big hole in pocket. so how many days your bike was in service center. glad they can manage with all the spare parts. and glad you are safe bro.
Yeh, Exam -> Office -> Bike at service center for Piston change (20-21days) -> Accident (15-16 days), so yeah very long period,Originally posted by aargee View PostNo wonder you were not around!!! How long did you've to wait? Why didn't you claim insurance? Forget the vehicle, hope you were safe.
I did claim the insurance, but bloody hell only paying 50%, means i have to pay rest 18k, /sigh
Though i was lucky, i went straight into the truck, bike and I didn't fall, so no harm on me,
Yes, ABS one. But literally as they say, when it has to be it will be , T_TOriginally posted by Nithesh View PostWas ur bike equipped with ABS? or was it the STD version? Just askin for info--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Or if pillion is also there, then a Rac can be added for tail bag.
But literally box will luck very ugly (you will look like a sales man of Yakult,
), where saddle + tail bag = tourer,

Even here the attitude of SVC guys is on the better side now. Went for Brake pad change and engine oil change (switched to fully synthetic after nearly 7k kms) couple of days back. All the consumables are readily available off the shelf, oil filter is always in stock since August. Now there is no appointment to be fixed prior to service, you go any day any time and the service guys are attending immediately(this was not the scenario earlier). Also prority is given in servicing for CBRs. This time they asked me to fill a feedback form on service, SVC and other things related to SVC. Gave my true feedback to them, they said that this feedback will be sent to HMSI.Originally posted by aargee View PostNot only that, I'd like a few guys to confirm few more things...
The efficiency of service at JSP Honda, in Chennai has improved considerably to a great extent like a factory model. Any given day, I used to see atleast 3-4 CBR's in the past for service & today to my astonishment there're only 2 CBR's & one of them is accident vehicle & the other waiting for some part to arrive from HMSI. Mostly all the free service vehicles are delivered in 90 minutes & if one has prior appointment, the service intake time is less than 10 minutes. If you think this is only for CBR, you're wrong, this is also the same case from Twister to Dazzler. Ofcourse, CBR has a different bay.
I'm not sure if this a process initiated by HMSI...can anyone confirm it pls from other ASC's?
Got a good news that in few months time they will be opening a separate SVC exclusively for CBRs (CBR 250R, 150R and 125R).
P.S. Now please don't ask me anything about CBR 125R, because all I know is that it will be launched by this year end and nothing other than this.Everybody dies.. But, not everybody really live!!

Well, regarding appointment, what I tried saying was, there's a quick & separate queue for handling prior appointments & another separate for walk-ins. But again, not sure if all the HMSI ASC's have this & its only with JSP. Hence I posted here to obtain a general feedback.Originally posted by kishoremuthu View PostNow there is no appointment to be fixed prior to service, you go any day any time and the service guys are attending immediately(this was not the scenario earlier). Meanwhile, there's another HMSI entrant into Chennai. Its from MPL group (sells Ford cars); they've opened up their showroom & ASC at Mandaiveli & looks like they're low on volume & they're entering into the market all equipped for servicing CBR's.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle
