    • OK. One more update.
I got a call from HMSI. They have confirmed that first batch of Tri-tone paint scheme has left factory on 27th February 2012.

Trying to follow up with Saphire Honda folks in Bangalore.
Anyone have any idea how long it takes to reach bangalore?

Need to get my loan procedures done ASAP!!

      @Strikepackage
No ECU remap will not make it faster than Ninja. Sorry.
Why do you care what Ninja owners think? You dont need blessings of Ninja owner for CBR.
The fact is, no matter what, ninja owners will always think lower of CBR. Why? CBR has no import duty, hence cheaper. It has nothing to do with the bike, but rather the attitude. Just ignore them. CBR is a great lil package. Testimonials can be found all over the internet.

          • How much does oil for CBR250R cost as B U Bhandari charged me Rs.672/- part no.MT-Lub-05 & Rohan charged me Rs.756/- (672+VAT 12.5%) part no.SP 0011 and if there is a difference why?
            Should they charge for chain lubrication(125), coolant oil(75) & labour charges(100) + S.tax @10.30%, is it correct?
The thing I am worried is 2 showrooms same city Pune and charging for small things like chain lubrication & labour charges. As I have seen members who are not charged anything in other cities.
            Thank you in advance

Maybe I will buy the blue blinkers too :P

Saphire Honda, Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore. DONOT book your bike from here. You pay as much as a car, and get treated as though you just bought the second hand version of the cheapest bike in India. They are not interested in you once they take the booking amount. Im disgusted with them.

Anyways, as per him, The bike should be ready by 7th March (That is, after I tell him that Bike has left factory on 27th).

Anyways, folks, please take your business elsewhere.

The Bannerghatta Road branch was opened a couple of months and I'm assuming that the guys over there are new. But the mechanic there is an experienced guy and does a good job.

Go to Saphire Honda in JP Nagar, near to Bangalore Central. They are one of the very good Honda Dealership, especially when it comes to After-Sales and Servicing in Bangalore. Or maybe I can say, they're the best when it comes to Servicing. Regarding Booking & Sales, you can talk to the guy called Pradeep.

Regarding the exact delivery dates and details like that, no dealer in Bangalore would be able to give you a proper answer. I've gone through that when I had booked mine in Jan 2011.

Nagoo - If someone thinks xBhp is the entire biking world, they're bound to hear all these comments for being a frog in well; there're several other forums in the internet community & one has to hear what people all over the world are talking about to know the facts. This is why this thread has a whole lot of junk & seem to be left abandoned to rot!!!

I've seen few people getting astonished (not sure if it were sarcastic) saying "Never knew CBR could do those speeds", yes, we were right behind N250R.

Bottom line - CBR is a very practical machine & like I keep saying, buying is one time affair, maintenance is for lifetime; I cannot simply depend on 13 ASC over the country for servicing a Ninja & the cost of the spares simply don't make sense & most importantly, I don't want to buy a bike & start looking for alternate parts to save money!!! I'd rather sacrifice the additional 10-20 Kmph, save over 50% of the cost but enjoy maintaining the bike to mint. Whew!!! enough of the rant!!!

Has anyone done 4th service on CBR? With 15800 on ODO, mine is almost getting into 4th service. Appreciate if someone can throw some pointers on few uncommon things to check during the service. Tks.

Sudeep - Here in Chennai, JSP says they can deliver the bike within a week of booking. Not sure how far this is true.

                    • Hey....

What kind of differences have you all felt after your first servicing.

For me I feel that the power bands have shifted up a bit from 6k to 10k...

Unfortunately, I have already done my booking here. Lesson learnt. I will keep the cash ready, in case they call me up. Actually, getting that much of liquid cash from an ATM will be difficult (Daily limit is 20k, right?) . I hope they take Cards for making the down-payment.
My main issue is that Im leaving town on 9th March. And I will be back only by 19th evening. So either I need to get the vehicle on 8th, or on 21st.
I would prefer that they give it to me on 8th. I have been trying to tell them that. But the salesperson, his almighty, Dharmesh sir is not understanding what I have been telling him.

If the bike reaches the showroom on 7th, then They can expedite and get me the bike by 8th Evening, that is, if they want to. But with their current attitude, I highly doubt it.

                        • Guys one important question - How many of you have the paint peeling off from cylinder and/or engine area? What was done to fix it?

                          • I havent seen any paint peel off... Maybe you can use the spray paints avail for a slight touch up. Cover the rest of the bike with a thick cloth(I used on old towel) and then hold the can a feet away an genly spray. let it dry for 2-3 hours and spray again.

The Paint peel off happens due to excessive heating and sudden cooling where it starts chipping off.

I used to do this touch up for my old CBZ.

Another important note is that the engine blocks have tiny holes (super tiny) for qucker heat dissapation so make sure you hold the can a little further away and don go RAMBO on it !!

                            Hope this helps...

No it doesn't!!! The engine components are powder coated & spray paint will only cause to melt them again + HMSI acknowledges this issue & fix them under warranty & hence the question

Have spoken to any of the showrooms?
