there was strong wind force so that could be the reason but after reading here feeling like MC42 engine is very much underpowered

      • What is the normal life of rear disk pads and cone set change, is the cost of rear disk pads Rs.1200/- is it fine? Should SVC charge for coolant top up & chain cleaning?

        • Hi all, I bought my CBR exactly a month back. Decided to buy it after goin through this thread. Have to thank you all. I have Done 1115kms. First service is over. The bike was a dream until first service. After first service it was smoother. But after i opened the throttle, I have lost my sleep! there seems to be a weird noise when i rev it over 6k rpm. Not too much, just a little.

ALso there is a vibration in right thigh just over 5.5k rpm(thought it was my cell phone vibrating, but now im sure its the bike). The engine vibrates from as early as 6k rpm. I read this engine is not rev happy. But still I find my bike strugglin even to reach 8k itself(its definitly not smooth when i do 8k).

I did complain at the service center (didar tnagar). They are just neglecting the issue. Looked like those guys didnt want extra work on their plates . Since I havnt ridin another cbr I have no idea if this is supposed to be this way or not. Have any of you faced such issues?? Please advice guys..

Swathinr - If you expect the bike to be complete vibe free like N250R, then its going to disappoint; but if you look from the single cylinder & vibes, its certainly less. If Didar T.Nagar doesn't address your issues, take it to another competent HMSI ASC.

Thanks aargee. I do realize that a single cylinder does vibrate some. The reason im worried is because this vibe or the extra noise wasnt there earlier. I noticed it after the first service. Apart from that I love the bike. Issue or not its a great bike and Im very satisfied. If at all there is an issue I'd like to be sure and get it rectified early on.

              • I remember a fellow member complaining about the same issue about the vibrations from the meter console & he'd to get the bolts tightened to resolve. It could be the same for you too. But I quite don't get the point as how could Didar T.Nagar could neglect the issue; from mine & other's experience, they're very patience enough to listen to the problems which is quite uncommon for any other ASC. May be you need to take it to them for a second time & slightly change your approach. May be

                • Yes aargee they are attentive and respectful at didar. The sound is definitly from the engine. The guys at the asc acknowledged it n said its there in all CBRs. That reply didnt really satisfy me and He also said "you ride it. If there is a problem bring it to me, ill take care." I mean that isnt something you expect to hear when you go to them with a problem. Anyway my main concern is the isolated vibration near the thigh at 5k rpm.. it disappears when i rev further. I will be taking it again to the ASC. Mean while if someone you know did face this issue do give me a pointer.. Thanks

Now my question , is this normal?? My ASC has told me that they would rectify it but still wanted your valuable opinion

P.S.... The bike is always under covered car park , No rains for the last one month atleast ! Can some teach me how to upload pics here directly
Hi, this is bad. i think you should report this asap to ur ASC. this also might have happened if the water used for washing your bike is from Boring.

seems you have not piled on enough kms.

right now it vibes at particular rpm---than it will at another particular rpm

soon it starts to vibe across complete revv range

& than you are so habitual that either you ignore or feel frustrated--either of the two

Firstly not sure of the price.... but an average disk break pads life is around 20k Kms... but people do change them prematurly based on how extensive the use is and how costly the pads are.

And Secondly the SVC do chage for coolant top up and chain cleaning. I was charged for the same during my first servicing itself.

Aargee ... Please confirm the same...

Chain cleaning & lubing is free; atleast that's what I experienced with 2-3 ASC across India; IIRC, I'd mentioned it in detail a few pages back.

Disc pad life is quite difficult to say unless normal life is quantified. Coolant might be chargable; I'm not sure as I haven't topped it until now.

But I quite agree with your point...
