AFAIK he removed the clip holding the pads and replaces it without removing anything else.Originally posted by srivaatsav View PostBrother Have any idea how they did that ? I mean the rear disk !
1. If the disc pads are old then it is worn out, please change it immediately otherwise it will damage the disc.Originally posted by srivaatsav View PostWell am noticing some weird noise in the front where the sound is like discs touching the brake pads ( humming sound )

anyone else faced the same ?
2. If the pads are new, then it will take some time to set. It will go away after few hundred kms.
change the bulb, cost is less than Rs 30. I changed it few months before.Originally posted by srivaatsav View Postand also my brake lights stopped working !!!
I had the exact same problem, one filament fuse blown. Danger light works but not the brake light.Last edited by kishoremuthu; 03-13-2012, 12:46 AM.Everybody dies.. But, not everybody really live!!

Off late I have noticed that I visit ASC quite often ... wonder how it is going to be when Paid service starts !Originally posted by kishoremuthu View PostAFAIK he removed the clip holding the pads and replaces it without removing anything else.
So you mean to say without removing the rear disk from its position ... he just took the disk pads with the help of clip and pin passing through the pads?

My ODO reads 37xx kms ... Do you think its worn out so early ? anyways .. have decided this sunday .. i ll clean everything ... and also include a video of changing disc pads for others too for CBR 250 ... let me give a try !

Now is that a common issue ?

Hey Srivaatsav,Well am noticing some weird noise in the front where the sound is like discs touching the brake pads ( humming sound )
Is yours an ABS machine?? I have the same problem. Actually, a lot of ABS users have reported this issue in Bangalore and we have actually sent a group e-mail to Honda.
No reply, ofcourse...

We'll all ride as one group to Delhi; insist on meeting Naresh Rattan; it would eventually attract media.Originally posted by Go-cool View PostNo reply, ofcourse...

Brake pad life depends heavily on your riding/braking style. So far the least brake pad life that I came know is 3.9k and the best 14k.
Don't know if it is a common issue, but it takes less than 5 minutes to replace it, provided they have bulb in stock. When this happened to me, I was riding without brake light for 2 weeks. I think it was during my first free service when the oil filters were not available. But now the small spares are in stock at the SVC, and this is since HMSI opened a spare parts warehouse in Kolkata.Everybody dies.. But, not everybody really live!!

missed your post somehow
But even there is a limit for that.Originally posted by aargee View PostWouldn't patience pay off?
Yes I do like thatOriginally posted by aargee View PostOh!!! 1 minute!!! Did I understand you right? Do you actually shift from 6-3 in one go, without releasing the clutch? If you actually do that, then change it; very bad habit. You always follow shift down pattern 6-5-4-3-2 & in doing so, release the clutch & engage it every time. Never engage the clutch & shift down from 6-5-4 in one go.
But do you say that this problem is because of that?
And please educate me why it is not advisable to come all the way down without releasing the clutch. TIA.Everybody dies.. But, not everybody really live!!

101% Yes!!! You break the gearbox Kishore; I'll give you one scenario, imagine the sync between the wheels, gearbox & piston; now you hold the clutch & get down one level, you create an imbalance between wheels & piston due to gear shift; imagine doing it 2 continuous steps instead of one, your harmony between the 3 goes even more.Originally posted by kishoremuthu View PostYes I do like that

Very bad riding style Kishore; your GB is at stake; don't do that; just like how you shift up linear, bring down linear. After all, discipline is also a part of motorcycling

Good that at least now, I got to know this. I am strictly following this from now on and no more 2 downshifts at a single time.
But the up shift is still smooth and it got smoother after changing to FS 10W30.Everybody dies.. But, not everybody really live!!

If you follow the sequence of linear downshift, then you'll not hear any clanks & the shifts will be butter smooth.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

this is the maximum i've heard till date. Please share what kind of roads you ride regularly.
Also i do lots of long drives. (Delhi - Agra, Delhi - Amritsar, Delhi - Jaipur etc..)
When it comes to braking, i use them only to come to complete halt, after having down shifted gears to slow down.Safety First ( protective gear)speed next :P
