AFAIK he removed the clip holding the pads and replaces it without removing anything else.

anyone else faced the same ?
      1. If the disc pads are old then it is worn out, please change it immediately otherwise it will damage the disc.
      2. If the pads are new, then it will take some time to set. It will go away after few hundred kms.

change the bulb, cost is less than Rs 30. I changed it few months before.
I had the exact same problem, one filament fuse blown. Danger light works but not the brake light.

So you mean to say without removing the rear disk from its position ... he just took the disk pads with the help of clip and pin passing through the pads?

Now is that a common issue ?
Off late I have noticed that I visit ASC quite often ... wonder how it is going to be when Paid service starts !

        • Bulb fuse - Not a common issue; atleast hasn't happened to me; hearing it for the first time.

            Hey Srivaatsav,

Is yours an ABS machine?? I have the same problem. Actually, a lot of ABS users have reported this issue in Bangalore and we have actually sent a group e-mail to Honda.

            No reply, ofcourse...

We'll all ride as one group to Delhi; insist on meeting Naresh Rattan; it would eventually attract media.

Yes, I guess so.. Not sure.

Brake pad life depends heavily on your riding/braking style. So far the least brake pad life that I came know is 3.9k and the best 14k.

Don't know if it is a common issue, but it takes less than 5 minutes to replace it, provided they have bulb in stock. When this happened to me, I was riding without brake light for 2 weeks. I think it was during my first free service when the oil filters were not available. But now the small spares are in stock at the SVC, and this is since HMSI opened a spare parts warehouse in Kolkata.

You always follow shift down pattern 6-5-4-3-2 & in doing so, release the clutch & engage it every time. Never engage the clutch & shift down from 6-5-4 in one go.
Yes I do like that But do you say that this problem is because of that?

And please educate me why it is not advisable to come all the way down without releasing the clutch. TIA.

101% Yes!!! You break the gearbox Kishore; I'll give you one scenario, imagine the sync between the wheels, gearbox & piston; now you hold the clutch & get down one level, you create an imbalance between wheels & piston due to gear shift; imagine doing it 2 continuous steps instead of one, your harmony between the 3 goes even more.

Very bad riding style Kishore; your GB is at stake; don't do that; just like how you shift up linear, bring down linear. After all, discipline is also a part of motorcycling

Holy s*** Good that at least now, I got to know this. I am strictly following this from now on and no more 2 downshifts at a single time.
But the up shift is still smooth and it got smoother after changing to FS 10W30.

                        • If you follow the sequence of linear downshift, then you'll not hear any clanks & the shifts will be butter smooth.

I commute daily to office which is 30kms from my home. Out of the 30km, 25km is highway stretch and 5km bumper to bumper traffic.
Also i do lots of long drives. (Delhi - Agra, Delhi - Amritsar, Delhi - Jaipur etc..)

When it comes to braking, i use them only to come to complete halt, after having down shifted gears to slow down.
