I hardly use the horn so don't know when this happened, but today while taking the bike out the horn wasn't working for sometime. Then it started working and going back kaput intermittently. Guess the contact point of the button is at fault. Need to check out though. You are not a chemical. So think before you react.

How come you guys are having so much issuesOriginally posted by dreamseller View PostI hardly use the horn...out though.
How much of horn you guys use? I almost never use until someone makes a mistake; I flash the lights to grab someone's attention on the road, no horns. Is that the same way you guys use too or...
BTW, how much time do you guys spend on cleaning & checking the bike? I spend about a day to two in a month's time which is like checking every 1350-1500 Kms a month.
And I'm really pissed off with the service this time especially when the ASC had made my horn sound louder. I hate it!!!Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Saar, I used my horn last time maybe about 8-10 odd days back. Yes, I too use the horn as rarely as you. Maybe even lesser.Originally posted by aargee View PostHow come you guys are having so much issues
........
Today, while taking out the bike a kid was on his bicycle in front of me. While trying to warn him I realized that the horn wasn't working.
Anyway, not too worried about the horn because I hardly use it. What I'm worried about is the quality of switchgear. You are not a chemical. So think before you react.

Engine malfunction indicator light flashed
Dear Fellow CBR riders,
Just like to share my previous evening's experience with you all and seek your opinion.
On stopping at traffic signals, if stop over is long, I always switch off the engine kill switch and switch it on back keeping it ready for a quick start when signal opens next. I leave it switched on because I have to wait after turning the switch on for the fuel pump to initialize for the first few seconds. I never turn off the ignition key in signals.
Last evening, in one such signal stop, the engine malfuntion indicator lamp began flashing and continued flashing for more than a minute. Ignition key and engine kill switch were on. In the meantime, signal opened and on pushing the thumb starter, engine failed to start on repeated attempts. I pulled over to a side, turned off the engine kill switch and the ignition key. Next, turned on the ignition key and the engine kill switch back. The indicator lamp no more flashed and bike started as usual.
Have any of you had a similar experience? Did the lamp flash for a reason or just the lamp malfunctioned itself?
Thanks
Shivaprasad

So your riding is mixed of all.. Glad that the brake pads lasted for 14k kmsOriginally posted by rajmadhawk View PostI commute daily to office which is 30kms from my home. Out of the 30km, 25km is highway stretch and 5km bumper to bumper traffic.
Also i do lots of long drives. (Delhi - Agra, Delhi - Amritsar, Delhi - Jaipur etc..)
When it comes to braking, i use them only to come to complete halt, after having down shifted gears to slow down.
Everybody dies.. But, not everybody really live!!

Well... look at it this way... ultimately, the cost of engine wear & tear will certainly outstrip the cost of a few break pads....Originally posted by rajmadhawk View PostWhen it comes to braking, i use them only to come to complete halt, after having down shifted gears to slow down.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

No its almost negligible & depends on how hard the engine breaking is used; that's how 4 jokes are designedOriginally posted by abhimanyu31 View PostWell... look at it this way... ultimately, the cost of engine wear & tear will certainly outstrip the cost of a few break pads....Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

LOL...hope that would work atleast. We'll all ride as one group to Delhi; insist on meeting Naresh Rattan; it would eventually attract media
To be honest, I m getting a little tired of these frequent visits to ASC. The factor is not those visits, but issues keep popping up after these visits
I dont want to give up on my baby. My only hope is that my ASC is a waste of time..need to visit a better one soon.

need help
hello, i am piyush sharma from ahmedabad. i own a std cbr from the first lot.
offlate, i had been experiencing issues with my engine. it had rattling sound coming from the engine. when i contacted asc, they kept the bike for a day and said that my shims needs to be changed. now they say that they have placed the order and it will take atleast a month to get the shims.
my questions are:
is there any harm if i keep riding till then?
wil the shims be replaced under warranty or i need to pay for them?
today, one of the guy at asc told me to drop an email to hmsi, will it actually work?

Depends on your riding style; better use it very very less; no fast riding. But nothing to scare though.Originally posted by piyush_sharma View Postis there any harm if i keep riding till then?
