    • hello cbr riders, presently i own a karizma and planning to upgrade. My search is narrowed down to 1.) Ninja 250 and 2.) CBR 250 r.
Regarding the later, I'm collecting some information kindly help:
      1.) top speed practically reached.
2.) at what speed i can comfortably cruise on it. for example: i can cruise comfortably at 100 on karizma (smoothly, without vibes).
3.) after what speed, do i start feeling vibes?
4.) how much effective is the C-ABS version? is it worth the extra 30k?
5.) i have heard about the paint chipping problem. Do this problem still persist in new lot?
6.) Change of brake pads in mere 10 K is a matter of concern. any proper solution for this?
7.) Possible points to opt for CBR over ninja else than on road price.

      Thanks in advance.

If your question is between CBR & any specific motorcycle, pls post your question in What Bike? section. Appreciate your understanding to spare this thread from OT discussion to ownership experience. Thanks.

        • Called up atleast 5 Honda dealers in Delhi, all of them said the non-ABS version is now out of production. Can anyone confirm?

I get mixed answers; JSP says it takes about a month to deliver STD or ABS (black); Manasarovar says ABS within a week, STD takes about 2-3 months time. IMHO, STD may not go out of production.

            • Info needed.

Hi....... I'm planning a road trip from Hyd to Leh maybe in 3 months time......Can anybody pls tell me if CBR ABS would be able to tackle Leh-Ladakh regions. ........... Cause the tyre being a soft compound would offer no grip in my opinion.......... Also i've experienced zero grip on loose gravel during my short stints............... Any suggestions/modifications............ Also did anyone install any aftermarket parts/accessories???

Well, they do have tri-colour Non Abs version. That means that there is Non ABS version

                    • ^^Yesterday I went and had a Test ride again at a nearby dealer and I was given a quote of Tri-color Non-Abs version. It was quoted to me out of a printed sheet, even on the website price of the Non abs tri color is mentioned.

There could be a chance the HMSI has off loaded lot of ABS version to dealer and to push the stock off the shelf dealers are coming with such story.

                      • Bandhav - Couldn't agree more. If they phase out STD, then, chances are they might take it out of website too, probably like the Silver color yielding to Tri-color. BANG on the point!!!

                        • If the news of phasing out of STD is true, it would be really foolish on the part of HMSI as the major chunk of the sales is of STD model only. If the difference in the pricing would have been 5-10 k, it would not have been much of concern but 30k is some serious amount of money.

On a second thought they might be planning to do the same to position the upcoming 150, as moving it at just 30 k below 250 would be a mammoth task. Though the clever thing to do would be to price 150 at around 1.15-1.20 lacs on road and continue with STD and ABS model of 250.

                          • Update: The closest Honda dealer from my place called me back saying, they are getting the next batch of non-ABS bikes within 8-10 days. Seems they are trying to hardsell the unsold ABS equipped bikes lying around in their stocks.

Hey, welcome to the club buddy. U got a good writing style, like like

My Dealer is City Honda, Kalyan Nagar. Plz plz do not get your bike from there or visit that place for service, they are useless.

I decided two days back that I am not visiting them anymore. The reason is not their incompetence, their useless attitude or them charging me everytime for the chain lubing crap and washing - I can live with all that. When I left the bike last week with a load of complaints, my old number plate, stored under my seat was gone.

Come on, who flicks a damn number plate maan, I can understand if tools are gone...sick sick sick!!!!!

                                Its nice to be appreciated!

Thank you for the welcome and liking my previous post. As a lawyer, I normally get to write boring pompous officious schtuff, but when I'm talking about things with Engines, I guess the right brain takes over.

Update: Finished loan paperwork, paid down payment and Bike will come home next Wednesday.

                                Bike: Red, Std
Dealer: Ananda Honda, Silk Board Junction, Hosur Road

Shankar, who owns Ananda Honda requested for additional time to source few bikes so I get to chose.

He’s a nice guy and though I could’ve got the red Bike from Sapphire within next couple of days, I didn’t feel like ditching him in the last minute. Felt maintaining that easy relationship is important enough to wait few more days.

I’ve anyway waited for couple of weeks, what’s one more week, eh? Arggh, but this wait’s a killer, dude

                                What’s y’all opinion?

                                allajunaki: Dude all set?

                                RG, Benoy, Gokul: Thanks again!
