This dealer was ok. The other one was asking for full amount down payment, only then they will proceed

Micheline Pilot Street are radials, made in Thailand, having rounded profile, excellent grip on all types of terrain and environments. It is on higher side though, around 9500 inr for a pair.

Thanks for your guidance krish2778, BiKeLovER, animeher, much appreciated.

Waiting is what is killing, though it might bring good options - CBR300R / new Pulsars. Or go down the Used route, itsvery tough call.

I am now looking for a rear tyre. I had the Dunlop tuff grip for the rear till now and its done.
I have heard few of them using michelin pilot street radial rear and front tyres.

Can someone give any info on them about the tyre characteristics and costs compared to tuff grips?

          Thanks
Pilot streets are having exceptional report in both wet and dry conditions. Even duke 200 owners are going ga-ga over this tyre. It'll set you by 5.5k for the rear tyre. But worth every penny.

Makes sense to be the 300, or they shouldn't be stopping production if it was just cosmetic changes.

            Hello all,

Been a silent reader on this forum till now.

I have some issue with my baby ceeber.

When I take it above 6k rpm, there is vibration from the engine. Its like two metal peices are hitting each other ( inside the engine ), this happens when I shift very fast.

When I deacclerate and then accelerate gradually, there is no noise at all.

P.S : the bike is 7 months old and 5.5k done on the odo.

I spoke to people at sai point honda ( mira-bhayander) and preetam Honda ( andheri east), both of them say there is no vibration and no issues.

I dont think so they really want to look into this issue.

Please help me out, or suggest some decent mechanics in mumbai (A.S.S) where the issue can be rectified.

            Cheers,
            Sanjay

But as usual, no commitment with respect to the time frame right? we have been hearing this for a long time now !

I am starting to lose interest on the Ceeber now, after being patient for more than 4 months !

Vibration in a 250cc single cylinder is expected. if you feel it is beyond your bearable levels check following points as recommended by PSR in P 200 NS forum :

The Vibes in any bike , other than the accepted levels of the design, comes from the following..

                  1. The chain and sprocket...If the lubrication is poor, uneven ,and or the chain tightness is wrong severe vibes will be felt.

                  2. If the AFR is lean also the vibes will be more.

                  3. If the engine mounting bolts are not tight .

                  4. The Spark plug gap is more than recommended.

                  5. Poor quality /grade of Engine Oil.

If you need a third opinion you can take your bike to Vihaan Honda, Thane. The Service there is good for CBRs.

Could it be the vibrations from shim or valves ?

I cannot hear any vibrations when the bike is standstill and when I revv it.

The vibration is only there when I shift fast.

If I do sane shifting, there are no vibes.

Please put sone nmore lights on the issue, I am facing.

                      • My New Honda CBR

Hai friends, I am new to this form recently I brought a new Honda CBR 250R Standard Variant - Sports Red Color. I booked the bike on September 5 2014 at Aadhi Honda Coimbatore and it was delivered by 21 October 2014.
I got few question to ask please advise me.

                        1. Gear shifting up/down is making noise. I asked the Service center guy he told for new bike it is common after 500kms it will automatically rectified. Is it true?
                        2. While riding in 3rd/4th gear for little long run (usually in traffic) my legs fells more heat from the engine.
                        3. While applying brake and rpm reaches from 5k to 2k I feel more vibration than normal.
                        4. After a shot ride when I turn on the ignition and engine switch on I see the radiator fan is running continuously is it normal.
speaking truly I don't have any previous experience of riding bikes above 200 cc especially imported bikes because neither me nor my friends no one own such a bikes. so help me soon.

                              Congrats on the new ride.

Usually I would say a quick search of the forum would give answer to all your questions posted. But let's answer them anyway.

                              1. IF by sound you meant a clunk while shifting, it is common when shifting to first gear from neutral , a bit of tightness will be there initially for all gears, it's a new bike let it set in. After a few hundred kms and an oil change it should all be smooth.

                              2. Again, new engine, parts are just seating in properly to the right clearances, so more friction will be there which translates to more heat. Nothing to worry unless the temp bar shows more than 3 blocks

                              3. This i am not so sure about, what vibrations do you feel ? Fairings / Handles ?

                              4. Yes, it is good thing that the radiator fan is kicking in ,that means the cooling system is doing its job nicely.

                              Cheers
