But the best part is if you regularly lubricate using gear oil, you will find that you get a great deal of boost in chain lifespan.

Yes true the Silver Rim was getting a bit dirty for first few kms after applying gear oil and I got this lubing at Free of cost with a Bike wash i.e. Rs. 100 at Honda SVC. So what is the advantage of Chain lube spray over Gear oil ?

Chain lube is less messy, less heavy (so lesser sludge type residue)

Thank you for the reply, I am looking to purchase a used CBR use it for a year or two (budget constrains ) and then hopefully get the new 300 by 2016.

I got couple of deals in Bangalore ranging from 1.05 lac to 1.25 lac for 2011-2013 models under 10k run. However in most of the Metro Cities the prices is upto 30% less for the same used conditions.

        Any Suggestions are welcomed

If the bike is equipped with ABS and under 10K on ODO I would say 1.25 is a great deal though a decent price should be around 1.4 at least for a ABS model.

Guys I've been using tribocor chain clean n lube for the past 8 months. It has proved good on my cbr. Is there any other better lube available or shall I continue the same?
Btw, 22k km on stock chain n sprockets and still can hold upto 2k km.

Friends need help!!! Today morning when I took out my bike for office ride, I realized the brakes are not biting the way they used to be...mine is a C-ABS one, done around 6K in odometer...forget the C-ABS excellent response, the brakes are responding like a 100cc bike without a disc brake...I was not even confidant enough to take the bike and hence returned back and took out my car to the office. FYI, yesterday I did a bike wash in a local garage and those people sprayed some dirty oil all over to make the bike shine...can it be a reason or other things I need to check??? While starting the bike the ABS light was blinking as usual...!!!

Clean the disc thoroughly and it should be back to bite.
Also better don't allow those bike wash guys to spray any sort of oil over the bike. It may look good for a few days but deteriorates the paint quality. Either use a proper wax/liquid polish to hold the shine.

Thanks again for the quick reply
I got quite a few around 10k-19k kms ranging from 2011-2013 models under 125k after bargain.
Today I did a test ride on a Standard CBR 2011 9k km, good tyres, ok body with few scraches, but some issue with alignment and handle bearing asking for 110k may come down a little but anyway have to bear the servicing, battery cost etc.

Hopefully Next Week planing to go ride Tumkur for a Standard CBR250 2012 14k Kms, will keep you posted.

Initially I was thinking of renting, but there are no one renting here. Even if they do with the permutations and combinations, it almost the price of a used bike if you keep for over 3 months, and since I am using for over a year, buying a used one makes more Sense, Hence started hunting for the used ones.

Don't worry It looks fine to me, As you mentioned dirty oil, just check if the both the disks, IF it is greasy, we should avoid Water or oil on the Disk and the ABS box near discs..

Wash your brake discs using soap (not detergant) and it will be fine

Thanks a lot friends...I was thinking of taking her to the service center tomorrow...so what I learnt from three of you, the discs may be in a oily mess, so will clean that with soap and let them dry...things will be probably normal...

1 week back I visited ASVC and they told me there is some minor issues with Breaks and Break fluid needs to be changed. That time I didn't feel any loose bites of break and also the pads were checked by SVC guy and it was fine.

After a week and a 200kms of solo ride, I found my breaks are little loose on bite.

Bike has done 7800Kms on ODO and its 1.5 yrs old.

Changing the Break oil will do the trick or some other things needs to be checked ? And which DOT4 break oil is suggested for a CBR 250R ABS ?

In local washing centers and in some of the SCs, they are using a solution of diesel and cheap shampoo or washing soap to clean the bike. The brake pads absorbs diesel and loses its braking power.
Cleaning with soap, detergent or shampoo does not help. Try ISOPROPYL alcohol (rubbing alcohol) and if the result is not satisfactory, replace the pads.

Thanks buddy, today morning I washed the sticky oily discs and the whole breaking system with amway car shampoo and dried it and now the whole system has come to normal, well almost...you can see 80% of the biting is restored...and yeah I learnt not to trust the local car wash wala...

once they warm up after some ride and braking.. the rest bite power will be back as well.. next time make sure no greasy stuff touches the pad or the disk...
