Got my hands on the Li'l Devil
Hey Guys,
I am pretty new to writing part in this forum, so please excuse me for my writing skills. I was planning to switch from my pulsar 220 as i did not like the feel of it from sometime. In past i had a unicorn which was amazing when it came to the engine refinement and bajaj can't match that. Was confused between KTM 200 & R15. Wanted to go with R15 but then CBR 150R was launched. Hence thought of giving it a try. This was the first time i saw a 250R live and must say be it 150R or 250R, they both look awesome.
The sales guy convinced me for a test drive of 250R and then i just fell in love. I finalized the CBR 250R and filed in the paperwork for Finance. The approval was done and hence i got the delivery of the bike yesterday.
Right now as the bike is in running period, its hard for me to say about the actual performance of the bike but even on the running period, its smooth and the engine is refined. The bike has lot of power to offer but need to control it till 2 services are done.
The braking is awesome thanks to the C-ABS installed. Drove about 300 kms so far in 2 days. I am pretty impressed with the way the bike handles specially in the zig zag city traffic and specially with the mileage i.e after 300 kms done i am still left with 3 dots on the fuel meter
. More updates about the bike to follow.

^^^ The best I'd was about 37.x Kms once during my trip from TVM-Punalur-Shenkottai-Kalakkad-Nagercoil-TVM. The secret is nothing great, keep the speeds around 90 & max till 95 or so combined with less brakes & clutch; you WILL get an excellent FE.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

My Jezebel
The right side RVM's upper bolt finally came off today while returning from office ... I first went to Borivali SVC where the bolts were out of stock and always have been ... then went to Kandivali Charkop SVC where fortunately they had few in stock ... got the bolt fixed ... picked up one extra just in case ... the cost was a humble 5 Rs. per bolt ... but in all this, the mirror's fitting has caused a minor scratch around it ... To avoid further damage I tied the mirror with thick thread which I normally carry in my bag ... this held the mirror in place till I reached SVC ... I am really disappointed that with hardly 1 week of use things have started coming off by themselves ... And yeah, thanks to chicmagnet (nishant) who accompanied me to both SVC's spotted another metal piece pierced in my rear tyre ... Now I'll have to get second puncture done

Thanks Vipin. Yeah its kinda of surprise to me too. While doing the PDi the guy told me to expect the average to be between 30 - 35. this looks like a good figure.Originally posted by hotshot.vipin View Postgreat man 300kms and still 3 bars left

Guys, also can you suggest if it would be useful to switch the engine oil to synthetic and get a K&N filters installed?? the change had a major impact on my elantra so was thinking to upgrade it in the CBR too.Last edited by surali54; 04-24-2012, 12:04 AM.

Lolzzz... you made my dayOriginally posted by kimshine View PostGuys Dont Use knee guards with CBR
i used it when i went to Rishikesh and now i have scratches on my Tank
.
Is your bike's paint more valuable than your knees... Lolzzz
Bro always keep this in mind "Mechanical parts can be replaced but human parts can't". In my accident knee protectors and all other guards took the toll which saved my life... which knee pad are you using? Go for FOX knee guard which won't make any scratches on the tank, but it offers less protection
. Pls ride with gears on or if you don't like to ride with it, pls don't recommend not to use riding gears to others, coz xbhp is a community which promotes safe riding ONLY...

+1; if at all I disagree with Binoy for the sake of argument...I'm using Fox Titans knee guards & there're no scratch marks.Originally posted by Binoy View PostLolzzz... you made my day

Kimshine - If you're so concerned about about paint & safety still, go buy http://www.oxford-shop.co.uk/item3197.htm. Before you ask where in India what price etc, go through that website thoroughly, very thoroughly.
surali54 - Have you gone through owner's manual? If not go through it now along with post #7600. Your question on K&N & craps are addressed there along with post #7500.Last edited by aargee; 04-24-2012, 08:30 AM.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle
