Thank you, Any recommendation about good quality Tyre Sealant ?

And Traditional Puncture repair means - Drilling hole and insert probe & use filler - Right ?

What is the General Rule of Thumb in this circumstances for CBR 250,

    1. Go for Puncture repair

    2. Continue with Nail

    3. Replace The Whole Tyre

    4. Any thing else

Please let me know... I'm looking for option.

What others members are doing when they face it ?

YES... if you are loosing pressure every week... fix it..

        2. Continue with Nail

only if its not causing any major difference is Tyre pressure.. but eventually it will

        3. Replace The Whole Tyre

depends: unless you have more than 4-5 punctures on the center tread or near.. ( area touching road most of the times) and constantly loosing pressure..

        4. Any thing else

its just a puncture... don't worry.. punctures are known to mankind for 100 years now

Please let me know... I'm looking for option.

sealent/slime are options but then they have limitations too.. also if it dries.. your whole tyre will be unbalanced and you'll resort to a new Tyre soon..

What others members are doing when they face it ?

i took my CBR to ladakh.. with a tyre already done 12,000 and a puncture fixed with traditional way... and it did just fine.. in fact not even a psi drop in all 17 days of hell i gave it ..

        • SAD Story..

so the ladakh trip was over with my precious lady... and she did it without a hitch and i Made sure that not even a scratch was put on her in the whole trip...
now the agony is that Gati damaged the bike in transit back to hyderabad...

both side fairing etc broken and all mes.. which can be fixed ...

main issue is dent on the tank... . any idea how to fix it ???
no scratch though but a 1-2 wide inch dip on the top of the tank...
you wont notice at first instance but then i am unable to settle with it for the way i kept the steed for 2 years in scratchless condition...

any idea how to pop the dent without damaging the paint... ???

please help me out folks.. its a very shallow dip..

These guys always find ways to mess up the bike, not sure but removing dents from the tank area can be bit tough.

I'm not an expert but, will suggest you to visit some Honda SVC who paints CBR. I found one good SVC with good paint quality here in Kolkata. They currently turned a CBR 150R with all new 2013 250R red color. And the job is pretty neat.

If the svc guy have decent experience on these, they might deliver you the bike with dent repaired and original color applied.

I'm going paint few parts soon from them once the monsoon gets over.

                Pop the dent.
Some dents can be removed. Not sure about yours since there was no pic posted.
However, the dent is removed by filling the tank with compressed gas which then pushes the dent outwards to almost its original condition.

                Where to do it?
You will have to ask at the local mechanics shop or HMSI SVC about where they do this.

My question what is it ? Is it Engine Seizure in progress ?

Last I drove the bike 6 days ago.

And during travel If I keep ignition on then the engine is running - when I turn the Engine off ignition is also off - Never keep the Ignition On without Engine running.
                Two things:

                1. Faulty Kill Switch wiring, so inspect that, or
                2. Clogged air filter which should be replaced.

Try the car workshops, they do more of the body related repairs. that would be a good place to start.
There are these dent 'popping' devices - something like this : or something that can 'pull' out the dent from the outside.
www.tdlrepair.co.uk shows you how to remove a dent using adhesive paintless dent repair techniqueDo you want to learn Paintless Dent Repair so you can repair...

Or maybe they will have a better way to do it .
btw, gati will not compensate for it ? not even partial cost ?

when we sent the bikes.. it was sent with lum sum value for 6 bikes and no damage happened.. not even a scratch..
however after seeing other bikes we took " carrier insurance" and shipped bikes on market value..

so ideally yes i am basically scrweing their happiness and they are working on the claim.. the issue is not money here.
they will partially pay the amount probably 60 % of the damage as 2 y old vehicle..

the issue is even if i go for a repaint from honda showroom itself.. it will never match 100%
also the stickers are on the paint and then another layer of clear coat on the same which the Honda people said " cannot be replicated"

the scratches are minor and dent is small and not even visible from 4 feet away... but then its unacceptable for me as i keep all my rides
in prinstine condition.. so repaint as an option is gone.. for the scratches i will be able to work on them with 2k compound and then re waxing it.
a few hours of detailing should fix it..

but trying to figure out places who can pull out the dent without chipping the paint..
another issue with CBR tank is the fuel lid is kinda closed so no option to put a L rod and then fix it from inside...

will check with car repair places as suggested ...

imagine you receive your bike packed after a successful amazing trip early morning.. with both side fairing broken..
tanks scratched.. and dented and the auto which it came through the bike was on the floor .. just parallel to the ground.. bumping and jumping around every now and then..

the floor of the auto is 3 feet high and he says he got no ramp.. just pull out the bike and push it on the ground...

Can understand your pain. Get the dent repaired and if permits change the parts as color option is knocked out for you. Do these ASAP as these things kills us from mind to soul.

Reading that made me cringe !! Can't you push for a replacement tank making gati pay for it? yeh wishful thinking
Forget what the asc says about painting.. 90% of what comes out of most asc mouths is *$@#$

Ask around in some car paint and tinkering garages.. I am sure they will be able to do a very good job with the paint and clear coat.(from what i have seen and done in chennai,) You might have to peel off the stickers and get a fresh set. Anyway you would be changing the fairings right ? So a respray/touchup, clear coat and polish will make the bike appear as good as new.
There is a 3M outlet at road number 12 banjara hills and there are two detailing shops on jubilee hills road 45 (one is bhuvans and the other is CarZ i think, opposite to each other ).. Or if you are able to find an independent 'local' garage that does these type of works then it could work out cheaper.

tank is not damaged that they will be ready to pay for replacement.. and its 12k as per my last enquiry..
even for me they are giving money for the repaint as i showed them the pics of the tank before i shipped and they had to agree that the tank was better than showroom condition and now they have ruined it..

i will try third party centers for repaint option.. however i have already tried these so called expert care for cars and i am ready to pump as much money as they want but they are just not ready to touch a motorcycle for detailing job.. i have tried almost every place in hyderabad for motorcycle detailing for past 2 years i have owned the CBR...

                          parts being changed are..

                          both side fairing.. ( white)
one side part between fairing n tank ( grey color for me )
silencer plate (changing to black .. new one )
                          visor ( cracked)
tank ( dent repair if possible) , repaint ( if detailing and little 2k rubbing doesn't work )
                          front registration plate.
                          rear left cowl
                          front left indicator..
maybe a few parts here and there..

i ain't leaving gati easy on this.. they have spoiled ending of my ladakh trip...

I have been following the CBR250R ownership thread and your posts regularly. Planning to buy a CBR250R for daily commute to office of 50 kms one way and also few tours in mind. Please help me in few doubts I have.
                                1. Is it a good idea to buy a CBR250R now or wait for CBR300R?
                                2. Being from Chennai, which dealers are good? Didar, Kun, JSP, Manasarovar? Which dealer has better service facilities of these?
