MICHELIN 140/70 R17 Pilot Sporty coated 4.4K or something including fittings from a very trusted shop.

As shop claimed this one far better than stock ContiGo. When asked he quoted it is medium compound , not a soft compound....Is it any good.

    As well ContiGo quoted 3.5k+.

Being Exclusive MRF Outlet they are suggesting not to opt for any MRF tyre for CBR bike.

As suggested by theironhorse99 when I asked about Dunlop Tuff Grip 140/70 R17 they said Dunlop stopped producing that tyre....Is it true ?

Now please let me know if this Michelin pilot sporty any good ? or stick to contigo ?
it will be sad if dunlop stopped tuffgrip 140/70...
conti's are shitty.. go for michelin.. i am not sure of prices though..

if its for city and highways.. get michelin.. if dirt roads and off roading.. get dunlop...
i doubt dunlop will stop the tyre as its the only tyre they have for this size.. and looking at the demand of 140/70 17 for so many models..i doubt they will shut down production for it anytime soon..

I read in the news that dunlops factory (i think this factory is somewhere in tamil nadu) has halted production due to some labor issues.. and another of their factory in west bengal was shut down a cpl of years ago and now they are trying to sell a part of the land to generate some money to pay off labor dues etc..

Can you please let me know which Michelins do you installed for your CBR ?

Are they Pilot Sporty or Pilot Street Radial ?

Looks like there are two different types....

Go for Michelin Pilot Street Radial. Pilot Sporty isn't great when it comes to grip.

AFAIK, both are medium compound. Pilot Street Radial is imported from Thailand and Pilot Sporty is made by TVS.

                        Last week:

                        Visited AG Honda.

As I enter no one was there to attend. I approached receptionist.

Me: Excuse me, I'm here to check CBR250R.

Receptionist: We don't have CBR250R. It will be called on order.

Then she started doing her work. As if trying to tell us, she is busy.

Me: Mam I'm here to meet someone who can tell me about CBR250R.

                        Recep: Sir please come.

We followed her & she was looking for someone but looks like he went underground.

She met us with some guy, don't know whether mechanic or sales staff.

He also didn't knew anything. I told him I want to know about CBR250R, don't you have someone who is trained to explain me about CBR250R.

Finally a chap came, instead of asking us to come to showroom & talk there he started conversation beside the road.

He didn't talked about bike with me, finally I started...

Me: Sir, I'm here to check CBR250R but since you don't have in stock, can I take a look at Test Drive bike & then go for a test drive?

Honda: Sir, we have sent TD bike for repair.

Me: You have sent? Don't you have trained mechanics here? Where you have sent?

Honda: Yes we do have trained mechanic but there was some issue we have to sent it.

Me: I know typical sales person's dumb excuses as I'm from same department.
Do you have any customer's bike in your workshop, whom I can see.

                        Honda: No Sir.

Me: I saw a red one there.

Honda: This is of our customer & its battery is removed for charging.

Me: Ok (While I remember someone from staff claiming that the bike was TD bike.) and left the showroom.

After 30 minutes I called him & told that I want TD for this bike so just call me whenever you have test drive bike.

Don't know how many times I had to request them to take me to someone who has product knowledge. As if they are doing some kind of mercy on me.

Almost a week passed, no phone call from them.
Called the chap again, he Sale Manager. Yes the guy who was dealing with me was Sale Manager.

Me: Sir, This is blah blah.

                        SM: Yes, Sir I remember.
Me: I need Test Drive, do you have the bike?
                        SM: No Sir.

                        I disconnected the phone.

                        After few minutes.

                        I called him again.

Me: Sir this 9xxxxxxx number is from your dealership. May I know whose number it is.
SM: Sir this is our MD Sir's number.
                        Me: okk Thank You.

I called him Mr. Guleria but he didn't picked it up.

                        Called SM again:

Me: Sir, Just tell me date when I can get test drive for CBR250R.
SM: Sir you can come tomorrow.
Me: Ok I will visit tomorrow for sure but if I don't come, I will surely visit on Sunday.
                        SM: okk Sir No problem.

                        Today I visited Showroom

                        Called SM.

Me: Sir, I'm here outside your showroom near Service.
                        SM: ok Sir.

I waited for few minutes no one came, then I entered showroom & this time there was some sale guy to attend us. I told him that I had talked to SM for TD & he left us. I waited for 5 minutes but no one came. Finally I went to SM & gave a gesture of getting late. He came & took us to service.
The same red color bike was there which I saw last week. Then I saw few mechanics doing something with CBR250R. Almost 10 min. passed. I went near bike & I saw they were testing a batteries on bike. Finally bike started & a mechanic drove it out of service area. Mechanic told me, ABS is not working so brakes will be little hard to apply.

I just nodded my head, as I was frustrated with there dealing & decided to go for test drive.

I waited for another few minutes & no one came to me. I thought someone would come to me to guide or at-least take Driving License or any other formality but no one came. Then I went to Test Drive.

Took Test Drive of CBR250R today at AG Honda, Mandi (Himachal Pradesh).

The most unprofessional people, I have ever seen.

                        They almost killed me today.

Since it was CBR250R, for the first time I decided to check its braking & pickup.

As I accelerated, it was quick but there was some kind of jerk in handle, felt like there was some issue with that.

touched 103kmph of speed & when I tried applying brakes. I couldn't apply the front one, it wasn't working. While the rear brake was partially working. Bike had ran hardly 5500 km.

I doubt cone set issue & braking issue. This is making me bit worried about purchasing this bike.

After test drive, there was no one to attend us, oops that's usual, nothing new. I parked the bike in Service & went to showroom, no one even asked for feedback or my Driving License. Though DL was to be taken before Test Drive. The guy whom I approached was Sale Manager, I really doubt his eligibility for the SM.
Then I approached to SM, for feedback but he seems to busy on phone to get some commission for Alto Car finance. I was sitting in front of him & he seemed to be very busy. Then I left.

I really want to complain but it makes me little worried that I always have to come to them for service & I'm yet to purchase bike from them.

I went through all the 1464 pages, skipped few (many) posts. I'm in love with this bike but I was little worried when I read lots of negative about HONDA's dealers. Now I really believe they are the worst.

Reminds me of famous hindi idiom: Langur k muhh mein Angur.

Someone truly said here that they only want to sell Activa.

And let me tell you the grip is awesome. I happened to apply sudden brakes at almost around 80-85kmph(saw the speedo was 79 kmph after braking) and the tyres were holding up. Had it been contigos i would have had a terrible crash.
