Re: Honda CBR 250R
Ouch..that is costly..!! But do update the difference in 300kms, also if it is as good as galfers are then with a steel braided line it should be working wonders..!!!Originally posted by gopakumar s pillai View PostGot it from performance racing store mumbai, pads for Non ABS costs 4.5K and ABS pads costs 6K.
They have same wheelbase ? I would definetly want to shift to the steel braided ones, do you know the cost of the brake lines of the D200 ? both front and rear ?Originally posted by Sid85 View PostHey guys anyone here changed their brakelines chnaged? Would Duke 200 or P220 brakelines fit? D200 & CBR250R's wheelbase is same...so Duke's brakelines should be a direct fit to CBR...right?
TeeJay, do you have the same setup for both front and back ?Originally posted by TeeJayy View PostYes, as Divya said, I changed to HEL Steel braided lines for the front for approx 2.5k. And the feedback is amazing - have been using for over 6 months now; would recommend to any non ABS owner wishing to have a better bite.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Krish why not try and change the master cylinder to Nissin from stock bybre. One senior rider here i believe has already done it on a non ABS model and the braking improves by a huge margin..Originally posted by krish2778 View PostTeeJay, do you have the same setup for both front and back ?

HEL/Galfer steel braided brake lines will drastically improve the braking feel of both front and rear but yes the initial cost is quite prohibitive.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Oh, ok, somehow i feel it is the rear part that we need to make a bit more reponsive , the front brakes are ok as of now, though a bit more bitw will be more confidence inspiring.!!Originally posted by TeeJayy View PostNo Krishna, rear brakes are stock.
Shiv, aren't the Nissin calipers for the ABS version only ? Will I be able to fit it on as a direct fit ?Originally posted by shv18 View PostKrish why not try and change the master cylinder to Nissin from stock bybre. Cheers,
If it can be a direct fit might do that and shift to the duke brake lines and make it a worthy brakes upgrade..!!
HEl and galfer can be very expensive ,yes, but i think HEL lines won't be that much a hit, the pads I cannot afford, the pads life-span cannot be forseen and I do not want to get stuck with a huge bill often.. :-P
I hope the person who has done it is reading this and responds.

I had asked one of my friend to ask the cost. Duke 200's brakelines would cost 1500 bucks for front and 1200 for rear. P220's front brakeline is for 1200 and rear one for 800. The mechanic told my friend that P220's brakelines are more suited to CBR since its straight whereas D200's brakelines are a little bend. Would get the brakelinea for my babes asap.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Yes it is costly but is cheaper as compared to investing in steel braided lines from HEL which for an ABS version is around 13K plus which i cannot afford. Will certainly give an update after munching some miles.Originally posted by krish2778 View PostOuch..that is costly..!! The duke prices seems fair enough.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Krishna, since i was used to R15 brakes; had my first heart in mouth moments on the CBR on the 1st ride itself (to Thalassery)Originally posted by krish2778 View PostOh, ok, somehow i feel it is the rear part that we need to make a bit more reponsive , the front brakes are ok as of now, though a bit more bitw will be more confidence inspiring.!!
Especially when are on the highway doing 120 + consistently, the stock brakes were uninspiring. When I spoke about this in the Bangalore CBR250R FB group, was surprised to see that many felt the same way about their CBR and that is what led us to the brake lines group buy.

Yup, since I was coming from the 220 brakes, it did not feel much different for me.Originally posted by TeeJayy View PostKrishna, since i was used to R15 brakes; had my first heart in mouth moments on the CBR on the 1st ride itself (to Thalassery)

Bangalore CBR250 group ? Can I have the link ? I am staying in Bangalore now.
I am considering a upgrade for the brakes soon. Too many upgrades actually, in the prioritizing stage now and brakes are of paramount importance..!
P.s: You do a lot of touring to kerala ? That's nice..!!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I only meant master cylinder and not the brake calipers. If i remember having the conversation with the gentlemen, the total cost of a CBR OEM Nissin master cylinder is 6k. On a non ABS model, the braking completely transforms. On a personal note i am not in favour of switching brake lines from a D200 or a pulsar, braking is one of the key and prior safety components of the rider and i would not like to mess around with it unless proven otherwise. Though these are my personal viewsOriginally posted by krish2778 View PostOh, ok, somehow i feel it is the rear part that we need to make a bit more reponsive , the front brakes are ok as of now, though a bit more bitw will be more confidence inspiring.!!

If you have connections with people travelling from the states or UK, the same HEL steel braided brake lines will cost you 6k for both front and rear you can opt for any colour of your choice.

Yes, I really love the food in Kerala. Wayanad is the favourite since it ticks all the boxes - good roads, curves, forest and good food. Rode down to Calicut recently and loved the food there too
If you are in Bangalore these days, we should catch up. Will take this further on PM.
