Even though grip is simply excellent, also a few of my friends from our CBR group felt the same when the rode my bike. After a lot of experiments we decided to swap the complete front wheel with another cbr's wheel shod with conti-go and found the steering light again, also another ninja owner from pune who has the same set-up installed on his bike too complained of the same issue on his bike as well.

PSR sir, thank you very much for your kind and valuable advise....lol , it is definitely a life saver due to the excellent grip it provides hence wont mind a minute trade-off in terms of maneuverability .
Glad to be of help..what little I know I share...

Galfer Kevlar pads are available for the CBR ABS version...I have not explored their range of products, hence do not know of Kevlar pads for non-ABS.
The Kevlar pads do not wear like Organic or Sintered, and provides better stopping since heat fade is less. It will not cause any problem to stock CBR ...

Good to know you swapped the front wheels and learned by experience...

          Hello,
This is a question regarding the opening of the front sprocket cover for cleaning and lubing.
I understand that I would need a t-bar to open the bolts, but can anyone tell me the size of the ratchet required?
And is this area user serviceable? the service manual is silent on the torque figures needed to tighten the cover bolts.

          Regards
          Manan.

My front Mud-Guard paint is a bit scratched and looks bad to me. I asked SVC guys for a paint. They told I need to replace it which will cost Rs. 700/-. Can I paint it from any car painting shop with Black color ? Also same query for the Exhaust muffler.

Any one did similar things to his CBR. ?

I did paint all the silver parts on my red/silver to black from the svc. It was pretty decent work. you should be able to get it your mudguard painted, I guess.

Can you tell me, how much they charged you and the work was looking like stock body paint ?

that's similar stuff with IRC too and i got my cone set changed 2k kms back and later realised that COnti's were making the handle light with hardly any traction.

The work done was quite good, it does look stock or better. As for how much they charged , the total came upto 2700 for the silver fairing pieces , exhaust guard and the foot pegs ( don't know the exact breakdown) , the alloys cost 1800

As far as I know, because the ABS module kicks in during hard/panic baking, Steel braided lines would not make a difference to the breaking effectiveness of the ABS model, though I suppose the feedback would be better.

Hi, to change the bike to naked you must find a mech who would be able to fix a naked head lamp to the bike and find other means to fit rear view mirrors, check the handle bar there are threads.

Also to stiffen the front forks check up with x-torque in, Mahadevapura, Bangalore, Karnataka, India

bro it used to be 800 change back in 2012 and now stands at 1100-1200 bucks which along with fitting will come down to 1500.
                              the big front side panel..

CBR is pretty easy to work with.. conversion to a street fighter look is easy .. however few things comes into picture..

you need to find/fabricate mountings for the Headlamp / meter console.. and some DIY to hide the wiring..

if you wanna do it just for some fun.. strip off all the fairing along with the headlamp and meter console and just ride is around only during days and make sure you make alternate arrangements for the Registration plate..

this is basically what you looking at...

for front forks.. you can start with thicker grade Fork oil and then gradually upgrade to stiffer springs but to tell you.. if this is your regualr workhorse..
and roads in india are more or less the same with few exceptions.. do not go with real stiff suspension.. you will have an advantage of good front feedback and better cornering but your wrists will suffer a lot more than expected..

I have asked my Honda SVC for a front Mud-Guard and Exhaust muffler repaint and they told me to replace. Now I called another Honda SVC which is 10-15 Kms away from my place is telling me, they do paint CBR body parts.

Now my point is do all the Honda SVC have painting facilities or some of them has this. And will these be OEM painting ?
