Yes; there're several knowledgeable folks in Bombay who can fix your CBR's issue. IIRC, the senior technician's name in Vihaan Honda, Thane is Abdul; pardon me if you can't find him now, as I've consulted with him more than a year ago. But for sure he's a CBR trained technician & I could make out Islam as his religion from his name.
Once I reach home from office, by today or tomorrow morning I will go to Vihan Honda and get the things done which you mentioned.

Thanks RG sir, happy to have you on xbhp

Are the gaps on the right side, side panels (black cover) or the main fairing itself? If it's the side panel covers, it's not a problem per se, but if you see the main fairing gaps out of sync with the opposite then you can consider it a undo and redo job.
On the right its a bit ahead of underneath the handle. Right below it when on handle lock. I also noticed a small one on the left and thats between the fairing

Abdul is still with Vihaan. He's the head mech for CBR and is the reason I ride 30 kms + for each service.

Like I earlier mentioned, i too had the knocking sound you describe. Replacing the tensioner was the solution.

IMO the exhaust cover is meant to get scratched and dented. I've never bothered to repair or repaint it.

However have seen quite a few with carbon fibre like stickering. Or you could get it powder coated.

Ha Ha...I keep thinking how people ride on ContiGos. Utter shit. But just pulling to so it can be changed. i am in search of PSD or Michelin Street Radial but the price looks on higher side than normal i.e 5.2K -5.8K
Even now people are suggesting MRF NV series, But I reluctant to try NV as its a Nylo type.
MRF Revz S & Revz C are also there which I think is a good buy under 3.5K

You can try painting them with black or get some good quality vinyl and stick it over the exhaust shield, that should't be of a problem.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Folks it's scorching summer time and as I was stuck in B2B Bangalore traffic at 12 PM yesterday at a temperature of 34 - 35 degrees, I felt the engine was sounding a little rough. Do any of you, especially people in Chennai or hotter cities, feel this? Perhaps she would do better with a 10W40 in these conditions? Especially considering the oil grade vs Temperature graph provided in the manual. Pasting a screenshot here.

Stock 10W30 engine oil is more than sufficient as the engine temp never raises beyond 94 degrees; I've ridden around 45 degree in AP & more than 5500 Km in very short span of time & there were no issues.

If you're still skeptical & your bike is out of warranty, opt for Shell or Motul. Shell Advanced 10W40 Fully Synthetic is best value for money & technically superior product than Motul 7100 10W40.

Bike's still 2000 km old and I have opted for the extended warranty too Sir. What I can't comprehend is, why would using 10W40 void warranty when the manual suggests that we can choose between W30 and W40 based on atmospheric temperature?

If you want warranty, you need to stick with what HMSI says or take risk

aargee, ji, appreciate the thoughts you've been providing the Ceeber clan, but just one query. It'd be great if you can "DEFINE" technically a superior product w.r.t to Shell from Motul. I myself have used Shell series in most of my bikes, and I can pretty much say I am satisfied.

And a few questions.

Have you used Motul 7100? Yes? For how many KMS and what were the pros and cons observed
Have you used the Shell AX7 Ultra? Yes? For how many KMS, what changes were observed w.r.t your previous oil change.

Genuine observations, please. Not what people usually report, smooth gearbox, engine nitty-gritty etc.

It'd help clear the doubts of people when it comes to "technical" aspects.

Thanks

Cheers!

10w40 shouldn't cause any issues, either with the bike or hmsi because the pic that you posted above is from the manual itself right ?! In fact some bikers do prefer to run the 10w40 which should hold up better during the hot summer months. theironhorse99 does run the 10w40 here in Hyderabad and he prefers the shell. It is a very good oil no doubt (in fact most of the oils out there are good, its only people who neglect periodic oil changes and expect miracles by switching brands)
Always remember to let the bike idle for a minute or so before riding and take the first km or two easy on the throttle.
