Both are good products the tolerance level of Shell is slightly superior to Motul; Shell has proven to be better even after 4700 Km which Motul & HMSI stock oil could keep up hardly until 4300 KmOriginally posted by B7ACKTHORN View Post

Appreciate the inputs sir, thanks!Originally posted by aargee View PostLike I said....
@shortrider26, you have a red one!
It's pretty cheap buddy, you can get 4x4 vinyl sheet from any shop, cut it yourself and stick it in the shield. I purchased carbon fiber vinyl for 380 bucks cut it myself and stuck it around the silencer area. And that fairing gaps do seem odd, try removing and reassembling them, if it comes in around the same fit then it's perhaps best not fiddled with, as you know tolerances for mass produced components do differ, so we gotta live with it. If you're under warranty try asking them for a replacement, is your best bet. If you're out of warranty, my personal suggestion would be to leave it as it is.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

and yes will take a look at where I can find the vinyl sheets.
The bike is less than 2 months old so Ill take it to the svc tomorrow itself and get it sorted out. In case nothing works out, its not particularly dangerous or damaging per say right?

I gave the Shell oil to svc and they changed it happily. Will have to inquire about their policy.Originally posted by aargee View PostLike I said, its only a chance that the owners have to take
Shell advanced ultra 10w40 has made a lot of difference in smoothness at higher rpms in lower gears.
I've found it smoothens out further after 200 kms post change.
Riders in Thane can get Shell oils from Shell's Authorised Distributors at discount. Got it for rs 725/litre (mrp was rs 827)

Will try to get the vinyl stickering, any idea what it costs?
Also about the gaps, attaching a couple of pics
This should help.
Gaps you've shown are wider than what I've seen in my and other CBRs.
Do you pull out the mirrors by hand using the stem without loosening the Allen bolts?

Thanks for the link. And yes I had to do it a couple of times because they were moved while parked. Is that what causes this?Originally posted by New guy View PostPowder coating - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Nah, nothing dangerous per se, as long as nothing is too loose or vibrates and comes under one's attention during riding, it's not point of concern.Originally posted by shortrider26 View PostYes I do

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I have seen the gaps on both side of windshield expand after moving the mirrors without loosening. Though the panel you showed couldn't be directly affected by it.Originally posted by shortrider26 View PostThanks for the link. Try removing and refitting the panels. If that doesn't work ask the svc to compare the gap with new CBRs in showroom and ask for replacement if proved yours is a case of ill fitting panels.

I go to Vihaan Honda, Thane. The mech Abdul aargee mentioned earlier in this thread works there.Originally posted by shortrider26 View PostYes I'm from Mumbai. Given the bike at Preetam Honda, Andheri. Said Ill get it Monday morning. Too much rush for deliveries today as expected. Which one do you go to?
I've had a horror story with Preetam Honda for my second service (mech not sure if he'd changed oil or not!) and steered clear since then.

Wow seriously?! Thats ridiculous. Do you know of any other service centers in or around Andheri? Thane is a 1 hour ride one way for me!Originally posted by New guy View PostI go to Vihaan Honda, Thane. The mech Abdul aargee mentioned earlier in this thread works there.

Its a 30km ride for me too. But I like the service quality there.Originally posted by shortrider26 View PostWow seriously?! Thats ridiculous. Do you know of any other service centers in or around Andheri? Thane is a 1 hour ride one way for me!
I guess for regular servicing, oil change etc one could stick with Preetam.
I usually have a few issues to be taken care of at each service so I prefer Vihaan as the mechanic there is quite experienced.
Dr. Arnob (search motoroids for Dr arn or google the flying doctor) also comes there for service. He too lives in andheri.Last edited by New guy; 03-21-2015, 11:29 PM.
