Fact of the matter, is I've always really wanted a year-end made Ceeber, considering, so that all the upgrades would be done and dusted. And the waiting paid its worth. I was told by a few reliable chaps, the the rubber were upgraded to MRF, post newer paint scheme was introduced mid 2014, eventually Honda changed the rubber to MRF, a few months after that.

Well we have a lot in common bro. Both of us sold our 390s and got ceebers. :-D

But you got a little luckier. I also applied the same logic and chose a year 2014 December made Ceeber. However the tyres were contigos. Didn't have the patience to wait and hence took it.

You can say that again. Yes, somehow initially I felt the CBR250R too sluggish, but perhaps she negates that with her beautiful attitude that made me fall in love with her all over again. My personal opinion would be, the Duke is a ghetto thug, whereas the CBR is a high-street chic lady. She's soft, responsive and lovely.

I chose the ABS one, perhaps the ABS models would were shod with MRF shoes, and the Standard variants with Contigos to keep the costs down. But that's just my thought process w.r.t the Contigo/MRF dilemma.

No to worry, I've deleted the repeat posts.

Yes the VIN number does indicate the year and the month of manufacture. Mine was manufactured on December end, 2014, pretty much a 2015 one.

The Ninth and Tenth alpha codes are M and E

          Advanced wishes for your hawk!

          Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Is that a typo? Because mine is a December 2014 model and the 9th and 10th letters are "L" and "E" respectively.

"L" is the 12th letter of the alphabet so it's impossible that your's is "M".

It either has to be "LE" for December 2014 or "AF" for January 2015, but not "ME" for sure!

EDIT: Oh the Duke is built to last for 25K like any other Bajaj. Period. I do remember reading your list of initial niggles on another forum.

                10th character - A - 2010, B - 2011, C - 2012, D - 2013... and so on.

                So mine is M-December, E-2014

                Yours reads as follows.

                L-November

                You're just a month underdue

To the Dukey, yes, you know thug life isn't meant to last, in my case it was cut short, way too earlier than I anticipated! Glad to see you're doing your homework.

10W30 fully synthetic or mineral both are OK depending on what you expect from the engine. Synthetic is a better option.

I told you this initially, the CBR felt sluggish only because you were spoilt for power on the 390 , same thing happened to me, but in my case it is parallel, having both at the same time makes the CBR a bit less fun to ride power-wise. But all other fields i just love the CBR. Nothing to hate in the duke except the heavy clutch..oh yes and traffic..definitely traffic.

Avoid mineral oils, liquid cooled bike heat up quite a lot and mineral oils just don't cut it, use Synthetic, preferbly Fully Synthetic(FS).
Honda FS oil is more than enough for normal rides/commutes/tours.
If you are into heavy duty riding/touring, get the Shell FS oil (Cheaper, but suits very well) or the Motul FS 7100/300V (Costlier, but is worth it)

                        Cheers

Indeed, once ducked always ducked I always say (you can use an apt consonant instead of the d I used)

But yes though sluggish, she's a dream to ride and the solid feel is something and that whine she produces when downshifting amazing. Crap, I'm going overboard. Perhaps this is what you get a proper homely wife after a raunchy extramarital affair. (if you know what I mean)
