Regarding this, as I am new to biking, to what level can the CBR corner. Not really sure how to frame this question, at what speeds can I take turns?
Tighten the front suspension, shod her with a pair of good rubber.. You will see a huge difference in the way she corners!! New pair of Michellins on my Ceeber blew my mind in terms of handling and cornering. Its bliss

Thanks for the reply mate but I am extremely new to this as I mentioned. Ive had the bike for only 2 weeks and havent yet tried cornering. But will keep in mind about the tyres

Hi fellow CBR 250r owners. Hope all are doing fine. I am in need of an important clarification regarding an upcoming ride of mine.
6th of march being a Govt holiday in Banglore, I have 3 days off during which I have planned to go Chennai on my 250r as usually. This time im planing to take a different route instead of the same boring BNG-KGIRI-AMBR-VELLR-CHN. I have a plan to visit Maruthamalai temple in Coimbatore enroute. OK done, said my bike and mind. But kept a strict constraint to be in Chennai by dawn of 7th due to family related stuffs, said my parents.
When checked, came out with two routes; one being awesome scenic which can be said as my dream route to ride through (a part of it) and the other one being time effective (hope so).
Route 1: (myplan) GTRE, CV Raman Nagar-Mysore-Bandipur-OOty-Coim-Maruthamalai-Erode-Salem-Ulundurpet-Tindivaman-Tambaram-Royapuram ~900kms
Route 2: GTRE, CV Raman Nagar-Hosur-Krishnagiri-Dharmapuri-Salem-Coimb-Maruthamalai-Erode-Salem-Ulundurpet-Tindivaman-Tambaram-Royapuram~910kms
Of these 2, My long time wish was to ride through Ooty and Bandipur section. I havent riden through the other sections (Kgiri to Coim & Bang to Coimb via. Mysore, Ooty) of the above route though I have driven from Coim to Chenn through route 2.
My confusions starts here as I have to answer many questions to myself which is not possible without the suggestions from you guys before preparing for the actual ride.
Bike: 250r ABS was serviced before 500kms (15 days ago) with clutch cable replacement, shim adjustments, engine oil top up (its ridden 1800kms since last oil change), front brake pads due for change.

As you can see from the pics, I need clarifications whether close to 1000kms can be done with the condition of front brake pad being as such?(I am not willing to change the brake pads before weekend as I have already sourced a pair of them and is awaiting in chennai). Soon after the ride planing to change the engine oil, oil filter, air filter & regular service.
I would be doing an effective cruise speed of 100-120 kph wherever possible at the most. If I am starting on or before 4am from my place, which route do you guys think/suggest would allow me to complete the total said Kms by 12am of the following day, 7th.
I would be spending close to an hour or so at the temple which is, inevitable by fact. My preference lies to route 1 and can prepond my start time by an hour even,if it is so as its my wish to ride through it. The confusion is because, even google map shows a riding time of around 3 hr more from bang-coimb through route 1 than through route 2.
The condition persist strictly: should visit the temple, be home before dawn of next day and possibly making my wish come true.
i dont mind riding after 8pm as far as I am at the max of 200kms away from my destination, which is my home through either of the route.
Kindly suggest, which route to go with ad the possibility to do it on a bike of such a condition. i will be fully geared up doing safe speeds sanely. thanks in advance

Ooty roads are a ghat section and heading there with doubts on brakes is not recommended. Especially with the potholes and n number of idiots in mad rush on that section. Riding on this one will take long time as well due to speed breakers in mysore road and bandipur. (dont do this stretch in the night, there are many unmarked sppedbreakers)

Salem route is an AH and will see you through without any issues. I suggest you take that route. But keep in mind about the heat factor, and leave early, reach temple and spend time by noon and then head off post noon.

          Cheers

Thanks Jiee, that was crisp.! "conquering ghats with doubtful brakes" is what exactly crippling in my mind and your suggestion was a bang on that. "potholes", "idiots", "long time", very important keywords for the plan; noted down.

Hi guys. New to this thread. I am soon going to pick up a used cbr 250r. Few things I wanted to ask.
What all should i keep in mind when i go see the bike? What all parts seem to be expensive to replace so I can make sure I dont have to replace them soon. Also What is the price a decent one is goin for these days? Abs version.

                Hi fellow Quilonian.
Since its a Honda everything is expensive. Mainly check if the motor is running fine and the transmission is also doing well without any whining. Check the condition of the clutch by putting it in final drive and accelerating hard from a low speed. Observe for any rattling, if present just make sure that the fibers are'nt cracked. You can bargain a bit with respect to condition of tires and drive chain. In final drive, do a considerable good speed and then close the throttle and observe if there's any rattling from the primary chain when the bike slows down. Observe if any mods have been done to the wiring, and well thats it.

Guys, does anyone know any resellers or custom manufacturers of radiator guards for the CBR 250R? Help, points appreciated.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I'll be going for my first service tomorrow and had a few questions-
                        1) Are the free services redeemable at any Honda authorised service center or only the service center of the seller?
                        2) Is the Preetam Honda service center in Andheri East a good one (anyone from Mumbai?), if not which is a better option?
                        3) What are the points I need to ensure telling him before service and check after service?

I have asked the SVC several times, and they said it cannot be done.

that's actually the correct answer. Only thing is Authorized honda SVC refuse to do that since there is no adjusting mechanism on the setup, except for the rear.

I face the same problem with spongy suspension. I have tried asking the svc centre to change the oil ,but they refuse to even acknowledge the problem.

From what I have seen from YouTube videos on replacing fork oil it requires quite some effort so they end up avoiding it all together.
