Re: Honda CBR 250R
Stay away from the bike1. More noise from exhaust, they said their mechanic fixed some tappet in engine head for performance increase.. I don't know whether it is true or not...😀Fare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

I am not an expert... May I know it is not possible to fix that issue... Or you suggest to ignore because they abuse the engine by riding in higher speeds...Originally posted by prateek2210 View PostStay away from the bike
Any suggestions please.. because I read in this forum's, tappet and shim noise was common in cbr250...Last edited by Nanda SS; 12-15-2017, 12:47 PM.

pre-owned cbr 250 selected, but find issues please suggest...
I am in search for pre owned cbr...
I met with a bike today and following are my doubts... Please clarify pals...
1. More noise from exhaust, they said their mechanic fixed some tappet in engine head for performance increase.. I don't know whether it is true or not...😀
2. Please let me know how to check the fuel pump i.e., FI unit is worked good or some problem....
3. Front disc plate was used more often... Is the disc plate readily available in ASC CHENNAI....
4. front fork oil seal should be replaced ASAP...is there any problem with availability....
And how much I have to pay for shim issues or tappet noise rectification process...
Thanks

Re: Honda CBR 250R
CBRs have shims and they are common, but adjusting them wont give any performance increase in real life scenario.Originally posted by Nanda SS View PostI am not an expert... the sound from exhaust might be due to cat con getting loose , we cant tell until we hear the sound. It would be great if you can share a video of that.
Te reason I asked to avoid it because if someone says that they adjusted "tappets" in CBR to gain performance he is just a person who has screwed his bikeFare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

Re: Honda CBR 250R
i would suggest to look for another bikeOriginally posted by Nanda SS View PostShall I ignore that bike or upload a video for exhaust sound tomorrow....
exhaust sound can vary when you post it,
it would be different as compared to listening it in front of us,
if you have a better deal other than this then leave it
else consult a mechanic in your area
and make sure the problem is rectified by him
and ask him the cost
please share more details of bike
model year, kms clocked etcLast edited by Om1234; 12-15-2017, 11:37 PM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Just recently purchased a pre registered cbr.
In the process i saw couple of used cbrs. One is a 2011 abs, 20k kms for 85k, another 2015 abs for 1.5 L. Both in mumbai, don't know about your budget. If you are interested in checking them out i can share the no.s on DM and you can check it out.

the guy is just tryin to make fool of you
any increase in performance would not make exhaust louder
if you are not getting another good deal
i would recommended going both to service centre and a mechanic ,
to get it double checked
if the problem is what i am thinking
you would need to spend about 10k in repairs
so better make sure before buying it

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Nanda SS - 65k for 2013 CBR ABS is too cheap. Mine is a non ABS 2012 run 44k kms and I wouldn't let it go for less than 80k. Coz it's maintained well, with no shim noise.
Probably the owner trashed the bike, and he wants to sell it off cheap to an uninformed user.Last edited by leech; 12-16-2017, 10:53 AM.

Regarding payment proof of second hand bike
Hello fellow Riders,
I'm about to buy an used CBR250R C-ABS. I live in Chennai and this is the first bike i'm about to buy by myself.
The owner of the bike has moved abroad and his father is selling the bike. He has all the blank documents signed by his son.
Apart from the form 29 & 30 there is Delivery note and seller receipt as documents. As a proof of my payment is seller receipt is enough? or any other document I should collect from the seller.
Is the puc form mandatory for name transfer? As the seller said he don't have one.
As much I can figure I have to make the payment, sign the papers, submit the papers to rto and ride home with the bike. Is there anything i'm missing or anything to prevent me from getting cheated. And the seller is insisting on cash as payment method. Is this safe?
As this is my first time I'm so much confused. It would be very helpful if someone could help me out ASAP as i'll be buying the bike tomorrow.
Thank you in advance.

Re: Regarding payment proof of second hand bike
As a general rule of thumb, never buy a vehicle if you can't meet the owner in person. There are just too many complexities if you get this wrong. Getting blank RTO forms with signatures is not a big deal. Anyone can do it with little difficulty.Originally posted by psychoc98 View PostHello fellow Riders,

Ofcourse there can be genuine reasons why the owner is not available to meet in person as appears to be in your case but be vigilant all the times
If the bike looks good, i would you the following:
1. Get copy of owner's ID card (passport preferably since he's abroad)
2. Speak to the owner over a skype/whatsapp video call & see that you are talking to the genuine owner & take his consent on the sale
3. Don't make any payment in cash. Pay by cheque or bank transfer only in the name or to the account of original owner as appearing in the RC
4. PUC isn't much to worry about, just get a new one less than 100 bucks. Ateast that's the case in Mumbai.
The combination of the owner not being present in person & demanding cash payment probably reflect foul intentions of sorts. If I were you, I'd stay away & look for other deals.
Also, do state the details of bike (year, kms, conditions, no. of owners etc) & deal price so that members here can advise accordingly.
Hope you haven't already finalized the deal by the time you see this.Last edited by mitz; 12-18-2017, 05:09 PM.
