I was in the same situation after booking cbr250r at my native. I too made calls to honda and they said production is still going on. i waited, but last week dealer said 2015 manufactured bike will be further delayed ( i asked for 2015 made one). so I called up a dealer in Bangalore and they said they have black abs model which is 2015 made just arrived 5 days back. I went showroom and verified it from frame number (9th and 10th letters are B and F- so its February 2015). and it was a black abs model which I wanted too. so locked it by paying 1Lac on the spot and cancelled old booking from native. I will take the delivery by next week.
So this tells us that the new front end edition is not going to make it any time soon. this is really confusing and upsetting.

Yes. we can say the current model is still in production. hoping Honda may be targeting second half or festiv season of this year(as they announced the arrival of some more models in this year)

Hari, the bike you booked, what make were the tyres ? MRF or contigos ?
Strange a Dec 2014 manufactured CBR came with MRF's and a 2015 model is with the contigos.
In other news, had my bikes 3rd puncture fixed today for the rear wheel, and 2 more punctures which are yet to be addressed to. So, fixed just one(a 2 inch long nail , wonder how that got in..phew) and left the other 2 as it is , one is inside the thread in a weird angle , which if plugged will negatively effect the ride condition and another small puncture somewhere along the tyre.
And the front tyre has started to develop lumps along the thread areas, the lumps are visible when inspected from an angle and on normal inspection looks fine. But the front end has started to feel bumpy at low speeds. ODO reading is somewhere within the mid 18k kms. What a pathetic set of tyres..seriously.
P.S: Hari, sorry to give you even more bad news on contigo's , my advice would be change the tyres to Michelins right off the delivery line itself. And try to sell those contigos at whatever price you get. It will be the wisest decision you might have ever made on getting the CBR.

Honda randomly fits the MRF on their CBRs I feel. because someone shared the pic of 3 cbrs at showroom in this thread in which only the black one had MRF. so they may be still doing it randomly.
I saw many poeple complaining about contigos, and Michelin just awesome. let me think of it.I would like to get some other suggestions from you guys.
1) Dealer offered "puncture safe" coating for around 300 bucks. Do you know what actually it is and will that be helpful?
2) Teflon coating. Is that a must ? or I can go for it at first service if required?
3) Body cover(around 1200 bucks) . the one which they gonna give will be of good quality?

1)Do not go for the puncture safe thingy, it is basically a fluid compiund they insert into the tyre, there are god branded stuff for that, not sure which they might be using, reason i say not to go for it is because, teh contigos are really bad and adding this will not make it any better, but instead you are just wasting money on a crappy piece of rubber.
2)Teflon coating is something again which now-a-days are used to scam people into paying more money, there is no great difference you feel on a teflon coating, opt out of it and get the bike waxed at a good 3m center, will last much longer and will provide impeccable finish.
3)Check the material of the body cover and decide, I haven't used any body cover from Honda, so cannot comment on it.

I have had a look at CBR250R's in 2-3 showrooms. I have noticed that the ABS models have MRF tyres, while the non-ABS one are Contigos. Not sure though, since the salesperson could not confirm so when I asked.
So today i fixed the instrument cluster light. Opened the whole thing myself. Since my soldering skills are well, really bad, i took professional help from my neighbour. Soldered it and now i have light... brighter than before too..

Hi! Many thanks for the update. Can you advise on how to go about doing this? What exactly was done?
The models I've ridden here, all have some whizzing chain noise to them, all seem to be little off slack, perhaps it is that way they were set at factory level. Get your chain lubed, and adjusted and see how it fares.
Ah will get it done! Also I noticed a little gap on the right hand side between the fairing. Is there any way to get this sorted by myself or do I have to go to the SVC? And does anyone go through shifting into a false neutral a lot? Happened twice to me today
I have noticed that there is quite a rough sound in the bike when I ride it at low speeds. Initially thought I needed to get the chain lubed but doing the same has had no effect. The sound goes away once I reach a decent speed around 40. What could be causing this?
I had the exact same issue on my bike bought a month ago. Initially I thought the chain is too taut, but upon checking I realized that's not the issue and the chain slack is just right. Took me a while to realize that the chain was rubbing the tyre! The main symptom is a constant buzz in the foot peg. Got the tyre realigned and the issue is gone now.
