I'm assuming the culprit is a weak chain tensioner; costs some Rs 400+; pls try to replace, IF YOU CAN AFFORD, and give a try.

One thing i wanna ask, what are the symptoms of shim got damaged or shims needs to be replaced.

He was actually appreciating his suggestion but his wording doesn't show that, not his problem.

Last couple of days I have been hearing a light sound of metal clinking occasionally. It only happens sometimes when I go through a pothole but not always and its always only one clink. I think it originates near the front but couldnt surely tell. Any ideas what it could be?

That pipe is the crank case breather hose, it must be inspected periodically (every 10,000) KM or whenever possible, to check for oil in the tube, which is excess crank case oil gets collected in that tube. If you see the tube is filled with oil, you must remove the small drain stopper at the end of the tube, drain the oil from the tube, and then install it back. So it's nothing to worry, it's the case with every CBR and you will find that along with three other tubes adjacent to them.

                      Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                      THE END

It is the Air Filter Oil collection tube...The Crank Case Breather is vented into the Air Filter box, and the oil vapour condenses inside the box, ..so a small hole is made in the bottom of the air box and the oil will flow out and collect in the tube....Here is the image to clarify it... Part 4 is the tube with the end plug...

However as this is a normal thing, what could be causing that clinking noise when I go over bumps? It really has me worried

Is your chain slack within limits?
