Yes, you guess it right - My ASC worthless as well Honda's Own Spare Outlet, 4 years gone no adequate spare supply for C250r, but this time I try my luck with another CBR enthusiastic ASC as they claim.
From them got the brake leaver (as told repeatedly it only fit non-abs version - as mine is) & able to source Chain Sprocket Set (Running 22k Kms with factory fitted unit).

This week I'll visit my ASC for necessary repair work & installation.

On a different note (apologies for OT) -

Dear Respected RG - Please Don't leave this forum and please hang to this thread as long as this Bike in production - Your tremendous knowledge /experience about this machine defiantly help other owners and now this thread become quite clean as you wanted during 2011-12. The outside crowd moved to another thread which I believe is KTM 390 Ownership Thread as of now that affordable powerful bike for General. So every one wanted to post their opinion there - same happened with this thread earlier.... Any how Hope I'm able to explain myself.

      End of OT.

Thanks theironhorse99 for your helpful post as usual ---

Clip-on means the entire Handle Bar ? Or just the right side ?

A Honda tank pad is available for ~300 rupees at the service outlets/parts stores.

EBC Double HH Sintered Brake Pads for Honda CBR 250R (ABS only):

For those who are looking for better braking options in their respective ABS CBR's a sintered brake pad may be an ideal choice for you. A lot has been already spoken about Galfer sintered brake pads in the earlier posts of this thread. However, i managed to find out that EBC is also making HH sintered brake pads in size which matches ABS version for the same.

The correct model no. is FA 388HH for the front and FA 496HH for the rear; are a direct fit for the ABS versions. (Image courtesy Pune CBR group)

The biggest advantage of using sintered brake pads is that the brake bite and feel improves by a huge margin and also just like Galfers the braking distance is also reduced drastically. Your front and rear brakes become so sensitive to rider inputs that at the touch of the levers one will feel a progressive bite and vehicle responding instantly. Yes this, also means that the rider has to slightly change the way they earlier used to apply brakes in their respective CBRs as now because of instant response, too much lever application will result in ABS kicking frantically. It is just a matter of getting used to the whole experience. Sintered brake pads also last much longer than the stock brake pads however, having said that if one mercilessly goes on being dependant on hard braking then the life of these brake pads will be short too. Also heavy application may chip away the brake rotors quickly. So do bear this in mind.

For those who may be interested, a video discussion explaining about double H sintered pads:

EBC brake pads are available in India now with x-torque, a showroom in Pune. But yes the prices are exhorbitant!! The front and rear combo will set you back by 10k! Whereas the same set can be procured from Abroad like States or UK for a mere 4000 bucks almost at par with the stock OEM Nissin Brake pads. So if anyone of you gentlemen have connections abroad, this is one of the aftermarket goodies recommended as a worthy upgrade.

Also a reference video to match the sizes of the brake pads with the stock Nissins:

Enjoy the videos and music that you love, upload original content and share it all with friends, family and the world on YouTube.

Buddy, google it. You will find a list of Honda service centers on the Honda India site with contact numbers.

You can call them up and ask about the tank.pad. I read your post earlier in which you said you are ready to shell out 1000 rs for a tank pad. You can visit planetdsg link as aargee has suggested.

I have tricolor STD and had 6.8k on the Odo.But i have become worried about some strange noise is coming from the front of the engine, where the radiator is.When i first start the bike in morning.the sound is very normal at any rpm range.but when temperature rises to the 3 bars and engine become little hot a weird sound along with the engine sound is coming from front at 3.8k rpm or above.Strange thing is when i rode it at higher speed in higher rpm,and then come back to 3.8k rpm range there was no irritating sound.then again it will start when engine get cooled and then if i start.
I thought of changing the engine oil and filter(i am using Honda throttle 10w30),air filter was ok though and i did.and magically the sound doesn't come for day and half.it was quite then.but now it starts again. It was no problem due to chain slack cause it comes when bike is at stall too.I consulted with an ASC mechanic,he said this is the normal of all CBR and not the noise coming from tappit or valve clearance when i asked him to look at the SHIMs.He also said that the tappit noise is diiferent than this. i am confused about the problem all different forum and blog are stacked up with these issues of CBR..give me some advise

You sure it's not the fan you're hearing? Once the engine heats up and the bike isn't moving, the fan will kick in. Also, if there's dust/grime on it, it will be noisier.
                  Which other issues?

no,fan is ok.cause after the engine heated up if i kill the engine with kill switch and turned the switch on the fan starts to cool down the engine i hear nothing.besides i can hear the sound long before the engine heated enough to kick start the fan.

I think the fan sound isn't the culprit here, if I understood the nature of your problem. Personally, from what I've experienced Japanese motorcycles in India have very good cooling systems and their fan is if not the quietest in their respective segments and gives aural sensation. One must listen to the way the Duke's radiaor fan sounds. Sigh!

Digging in, it'd be helpful if you can provide some little more color how it actually sounds, and if not if you can perhaps make a video that would help us even more, it would also help to discern and also, perhaps someone might be facing the same issue that you're facing.

A little more clear on how it actually sounds. Is it a rattling sound or some metal clicking noise, any color would help us find a solution, worse still, it helps us get an insight into the issue per se.

                      Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

When I park my CBR on stand, bike moves a bit(towards left- like its gonna fall) more from the initial angle where the it stays with stand touches the ground. but it will stay there in the new angle. but many time I tried to hold the bike like a reflex action when suddenly see this . Anyone else face this or is this happens only to my bike? Any solution for this?

I have the same problem. I thought the stand is going to give way. The mech said there is a metal stopper which has come off and a metal piece can be welded.

Will try to send some pics.

oh.. so the metal stopper has come off from your bike. let me check on my bike then, dont know how it can happen to a brand new bike. If that is the reason, will the service center guys will do welding work?

Service centre will not do welding job. They would replace the entire assembly.
                              Welding is an outside job.

The sound you mentioning metallic noise...i experienced that.a tick..tick ..tick metallic sound came from directly like below from the tank...surprisingly it gone completely.
Now the sound i mentioning here it is more like phatt.phat..phatt...or trrrr...trrrrr....like.an extra sound is coming along with the engine.when i keep the rpm needle at 3.8k it starts, but after some time riding it is fading but still there.not so loud though..
